Laptop Starting Issue

I have a dell laptop which doesn't give any display on first attempt when I turn it on. The lights turned on, the processor seems to running, the hard drive seems to be running but no display.

Then I press the power button on the laptop and completely turns off the laptop and turn it on again and I get the display this time. Anyone can help me with this problem?
