My Acer Nitro 5 CPU burned and need replacing. I got a quotation for SRH84 for around RM 1,400.

It seems high. Can you please recommend an honest and cheaper service center in Kuala Lumpur that can fix it for cheaper?

Does installing dashcam revokes warranty- X50

Hi peeps,

I want to install 70mai A500s or A800s (which one do you recommend?) for my premium proton X50.

But mainly my question is: would that revoke Proton warranty? SA told me if not cutting wires and without using the fuse box, it’s possible. However, Trapo mentioned they need to access the fuse box.

I’m confused as I see many people add dashcam but I’m not sure why it would affect the warranty.

Please advise on this. Would be helpful to hear from an X50 owner who went through this and then went for a service and how did they react.

Consultation for buying a used SUV

Hello experts!

I need your help to decide my next car. My budget is RM 50,000-80,000 for a strong SUV with good handling and comfortable for long drives.

I have narrowed my options to the following:
- Honda HR-V (2017) V 1.8
- Mazda CX5 (2016) 2.0G HIGH 2WD (CKD)
- Perodua Ativa (2021) H1.0

Please let me know which option do you think is the best knowing that I want to buy the car from Carsome.

Things I’m concerned about -especially for +5 years old cars-are the following:
- Annul maintenance + servicing cost for each option above.
- Depreciation and resell value (Possible depreciation percentage within 3-5 years)
- Reliable for road trips (3-5 hours nonstop drives)

I’d appreciate your input cars enthusiasts.

Marriage for expats

Hello everyone!

Me (Palestinian) and my fiancé (Indonesian) have been trying to get married in Malaysia where we live and work for over one year now. We’re both “Muslims” and so we went to JAWI who said marriage for expats is closed since March 2020.

We reached out to all JAWI branches (KL, Selangor, and Putrajaya) but none of them will help.

Please advise a way for to proceed with the marriage registration in Malaysia. We can’t do a “civil” as they don’t accept Muslims to get married with JAWI’s approval.

We check with a 3rd party ostaz (Shiekh) but it was shady and asked RM 2,800 to process the marriage (Akad) and won’t be possible to register in Malaysia anyways.

Please share suggestions/advices as we’ve waiting for too long and we’re both depressed.

Saga 2010 BLM gear shift issue

Hi everyone,

Suddenly, my gear shift won’t allow me to change to “P” and I’m using “N” instead when I park my car.
I tried to push it as hard as it makes sense but it won’t go all the way to “P”.
I can’t find any gear shift lock so I’m not sure if I can fix it myself or I need to see a mechanic?
Please advise guys.

Buy the Myvi 2020 now or wait for the 2021

Hi guys,
Thank you so much for your advice last time when I asked about an economy car around 15K.
Many of you suggested the Myvi 2020 due to some awesome safety features.
I’m planning to get the Myvi 2020 but I was wondering if 2021 model is coming out soon. If so, should I wait for it?
I want to start 2021 with a car so please let me know your thoughts on this.

Economy Car under 15K

Hi there good people,

I’m planning to buy a new car. My budget is max RM 15,000.
I have two options that i really like: Honda City (2006 or 2007) and Ford Fiesta (2011, 2012, 2013).
I’ve heard from some people that foreign cars are expensive to service and maintain. If they have any issue it will much more expensive to fix or replace than local cars.

Can you please give me your experience with these cars and if you recommend one and why?
