Modem/Router question

I had some recent problems with my Unifi and when on the line with 100, the person advised me not to switch off my modem and router when I'm not using them (like at night when I'm asleep) but to keep them on all the time. I'm curious of what the actual truth is, to switch off or not whe not in use. Hope some of you guys here can enlighten me. Thanks.

Touchscreen monitor

I'm looking for a touchscreen monitor and would like to know of any recommendations/opinions.

I'll be using it for normal work and moderate gaming. It also needs to be vesa mount compatible and preferably with built-in speakers. Any size from 21 to 27 inches. Price can be up to RM1500. Any recommendation welcome. Thanks.

Kitchen extension

I've just purchased a house and would like to build a wet kitchen extension. What happens after the plans are approved by the Majlis? Do I have to inform them when the construction works start? Is there any certification by the Majlis after construction has finished?

Soundproofing and double glazed windows

Hi,

I'm trying to find info about double-glazed windows and soundproofing but so far have not been really successful in my search.

Does anyone know of contractors who have sufficient knowledge about this? I've mainly interested in assymetric double-glaze windows, their cost and if it's easy to replace ordinacry windows with them.

Building your own house

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in knowing how a person goes about building his own house. I don't have any idea at all as to how to start this and have lots of questions specifically those below:

1) How do I find a good architect to draw the plans?
2) What will his fees be like?
3) How do I go about finding a building contractor or does the architect handle everything?
4) Average sum of building house with a built up area of approximately 4,000 square feet.

setting up router for maxis wired broadband

Hi,

After waiting for ages, I finally have broadband access provided by maxis. I just bought a Linksys Wireless Broadband router and have tried to set it up together with the Zyxel modem router provided by Maxis. I thought it was going to be straightforward, however I've been unsuccessful. It would help if anyone can advise me as to how I should go about configuring the router since I know nuts about these things. Thanks
