BEWARE: Thieves at KLCC toilets!

Hi all...

Just want to post this so that everyone is aware and be vigilant.

To cut to the chase, my wife's handbag was stolen whilst she was in the KLCC Suria toilet cubicle! The handbag was placed on the rack in the cubicle. We suspect it was lifted with a hook or something similar. We immediately reported the matter to the KLCC Suria security and their immediate reaction was: "This is the first time we've heard of this sort of incident!" We requested to see the CCTV recordings and they were only willing to let us take a look if the police were investigating the matter. What is the point then if the thieves have already long left?

Next time you're in KLCC Suria, take a look at how far apart the cameras are and how SMALL they are. There are NO cameras facing the entrances to the toilets, there's only ONE at the corridor leading to the toilets. Compare and contrast next time you visit other places like Ikano or One Utama. Curious right? Considering that it is a tourist attraction AND a potential terrorist target (world's tallest twin towers). This lax security is totally unacceptable.

When we went to Dang Wangi police station to make a report, the police there said that this is a frequent occurrence (and it happens in both male and female toilets). So, spread this info to those you know for TWO reasons:

1. Help your friends / family be safe when shopping in KLCC Suria
2. Do not let KLCC Suria cover this up and tell everyone that "this is the first time they've heard of this sort of incident"

I posted this topic in Garage Sales which is due to this incident.
