Youtube Horizontal Corrupted Line on Sharp TV

Hi first time starting thread in Lowyat. Didn't find solution anywhere else and thought this would be helpful to people with this recent issue.

So my Sharp TV - LC-UE630X Youtube stopped working after the most recent update. I can browse the content but whenever i played any videos, it shows corrupted horizontal lines with audio only. My Android TV version 6.0.1 and Youtube version 2.11.08 are the most updated.

After checking the review on the google app store, found many people with similar issues and seems to be only isolated to Sharp TV.

Anyway, the idea is to do a rollback to the update to previous version. Little did I know that rolling back update on Android TV is such a not straight forward method.

If you know your stuff around tech, just find a way to rollback to previous version.

Below are my steps to perform rollback on this android TV:

1. Go to APK mirror to download the Youtube for Android TV. I choose the previous version 2.10.17 and the variant with most downloads. (arm-v7a)
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/yo...d-apk-download/

2. Install file explorer on Android TV
I went google play store on my Android TV to install FX File explorer.

3. Transfer the downloaded APK to android TV
If you know how to do it via USB please go ahead. But I have trouble using USB with many errors occur. So found this app "Send Files to TV" and install on both my Android TV and Android phone. Apparently they have desktop version but I didn't try.

4. Transfer APK to android TV with Send Files to TV
So ensure your smart phone has the apk, which I transferred from laptop to mobile phone earlier. Then follow the instruction on app to transfer it to your Smart TV.

5. Allow 3rd party installation on Smart TV
Navigate to security section in your Smart TV setting and enable 3rd party (unknown source) app installation.

6. Browse your apk with FX File explorer
Before installing, please uninstall your current Youtube app from your TV. Then just go to file explorer and install the previous version apk.

Well this is not a step by step guide but more of a walkthrough. But if you need detailed step feel free to comment and ask. I believe the forum would answer your questions gladly.

Cheers!
