Education Pathway

Hello guys,

I need some of ur advises for my education pathway. I just received my A Level results recently and it was pretty good. (I took 2 sciences, maths and econs)

I always wanted to start my own biz and until recently I am being told that a biz degree does not help me much on establishing my biz in the future. So i opt to a more professional degree, actuarial science, this course involves more reasoning due to maths calculations and still relevant to biz world (pls enlighten me if i m wrong).

However, it is to my attention that being actuary requires a long period of study period and i am required to take exams when i m working. Furthermore, I realized that job demand for actuary is less than what i thought. I heard that not much company is hiring a certified actuary (maybe i got the wrong info). I am afraid that I do not use my skills learnt in the uni to do my jobs and instead doing jobs that is irrelevant to that.

I am interested in investments also but what major should i take in my biz degree to work as an investment banker or other job position related to investments in a bank?

I considered taking medicine but i was told recently that medicine graduates are oversupplied and progress to become a specialist cost a fortune. I am open on studying science degrees too ( except too physics oriented) so pls advice me some other sci degree with bright future. Thanks.

My ideal job is getting a decent amount of salary, involve reasoning in my job, normal hours of OT , great career development.

PS: Recently I am interested on getting jobs relating to Governance, Risk Management and Compliance. Maybe you guys can advise me about what degree/majors should i choose for this field.

Thanks all.
R.
