Does anyone know why the SPE highway entrance from Hulu Klang is still closed? It looks ready but it's still blocked up with cones.

Refer to the pic below. The photo below is old c. 2021 but there's no more construction going on and it's opened from the other side.

"Kita mahu ia terus bertambah memandangkan jenama francais Malaysia jelas memiliki potensi di sini (Filipina).

"Di Filipina ini kita lihat ada potensi pasaran yang besar kerana persamaan cita rasa dan budaya rakyatnya. Jadi, ini memudahkan kita bekerjasama dan memperluaskan lagi produk francais tempatan," katanya.

Menurut KPDNHEP, kementerian itu telah mengadakan misi perdagangan francais ke Manila bermula 14 hingga 16 Okt lepas.

"Inisiatif misi perdagangan itu, yang merupakan satu program pengembangan francais dilaksanakan di bawah Program Pengukuhan Francais bagi Meningkatkan Eksport (EFDP), adalah yang kelima dijadualkan tahun ini selepas Jeddah, Johannesberg dan Indonesia," menurut kenyataan itu.

Delegasi KPDNHEP ke Manila diketuai Rohaizi dan disertai Persatuan Francais Malaysia (MFA) serta lapan syarikat francais terkemuka tempatan antaranya Aloha, Cheeseu, HOME Math Therapy, Laundrybar, Marrybrown, Muzart, Oldtown White Coffee dan US Pizza.

Menurut kenyataan itu, delegasi Malaysia turut mengadakan beberapa aktiviti lain seperti pertemuan dengan pihak Malawakil dan pihak agensi kerajaan di Filipina serta lawatan ke cawangan jenama francais Filipina dan cawangan jenama francais Malaysia yang telah menembusi pasaran negara itu iaitu Tealive.

SEBANYAK 25 premis perniagaan di kawasan pentadbiran Majlis Perbandaran Kuantan (MPK) dikompaun RM6,250, masing-masing RM250 setiap premis kerana gagal mengibarkan Jalur Gemilang.

Ketua Seksyen Perhubungan Awam dan Korporatnya, Norkamawati Kamal berkata, kompaun itu dikeluarkan mengikut Undang-Undang Kecil Pelesenan, Tred, Perniagaan dan Perindustrian (MPK) 1983.

Katanya, tindakan penguatkuasaan dikenakan terhadap pemilik premis kerana tidak mematuhi syarat lesen.

"Penguatkuasaan dilaksanakan selepas notis serahan tangan diberikan pada 27 Julai lalu bagi arahan pemasangan Jalur Gemilang di premis perniagaan sempena Bulan Kemerdekaan bermula 15 Ogos hingga 14 September ini.

"Sehubungan itu, MPK mula menjalankan penguatkuasaan dengan mengeluarkan kompaun kepada pemilik premis yang gagal mematuhi arahan selepas diberi masa lebih tiga minggu berbuat demikian.

"Jalur Gemilang hendaklah dikibar di bahagian hadapan premis perniagaan dan bukannya di tepi atau di belakang premis," katanya ketika dihubungi, hari ini.

Dalam perkembangan lain, Norkamawati berkata, sempena Minggu Kemerdekaan Malaysia ke-63, MPK menawarkan parkir percuma pada 24 Ogos lalu hingga 31 Ogos ini kepada pengguna yang memasang Jalur Gemilang pada kenderaan masing-masing.

Katanya, penguat kuasa MPK tidak akan mengeluarkan kompaun sekiranya pemilik kenderaan tidak meletakkan kupon parkir atau membeli caj parkir menerusi aplikasi PahangGo.

"Syarat utama bagi mereka yang ingin mendapatkan parkir percuma ialah memasang Jalur Gemilang pada kenderaan.

"Jalur Gemilang yang dipasang mesti masih baharu dan tidak koyak," katanya.

SUBANG: The furries at the PAWS Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) can now look forward to a new home as the management is hoping to raise RM3.5 million to build Malaysia’s first state-of-the-art animal shelter in Ara Damansara. Speaking to FMT, PAWS manager Edward Lim explained that the plot on which their facility is presently located has been gazetted by the government as “road reserve land”.

With this land soon to be developed, the government has graciously given the shelter an alternative plot in Ara Damansara where the new facility is to be built. Lim explained that the new site consists of two plots of land that will house two different facilities for the animals. “The main shelter will be built on the bigger plot while the smaller plot will be used as a quarantine station as well as a pound to serve the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) and Shah Alam City Council (MBSA).

He said their present shelter was too small to accommodate all the animals that were either picked up as strays by the city councils or surrendered by members of the public.

“We currently have a total of 500 animals, both cats and dogs and the new plot will definitely be able to cater to more because, with the current numbers and space we have, we seem to be full all the time,” Lim said, adding that many a time, they have had no choice but to reject taking in more animals. “Hopefully, when we are able to finish building the new shelter, we can serve the public better,” he said.

According to Edward, the new shelter is an ambitious three-storey project while the quarantine centre is to be a two-storey building. “I believe this will be the first shelter in Malaysia that will be a multi-storey building and equipped with solar panels as well as rainwater harvesting facilities to ensure a sustainable and environmentally-friendly refuge for Malaysia’s animals.”

Lim explained that the shelter hopes to hold a ground-breaking ceremony at the new site by the end of 2021 and if everything goes as planned, the new shelter will be completed within two and a half years. “We will be shifting to our new site in the next four to six weeks, but it will be a temporary shelter,” he explained.

Every donation of RM100 and above will come with a certificate that includes GPS coordinates unique to the individual donor, enabling them to visit the sponsored land via Google Earth.

What steps should the govt take to prepare for the unlikely scenario that snow should fall and temperature drops to 0?

Imagine the chaos that will follow:
-Most Malaysians dont have the proper winter clothes
-All Malaysian buildings dont have insulation/heating. Roofs are not built to hold the weight of snow.
-All piping in Malaysia is not insulated
-Our water system does not work when water is frozen
-The motor/electronics/grid are not built for the weather
-Malaysian car tires are not made to drive in snow
