About WatsApp archive chat

Sometimes, we have so many conversations going on and the inactive chat, we will move to archive as not to crowded the main chat tabs.

Basically, have made arrangement with this person. Unfortunately, made me FFK and I am so pissed about it. The said person has been MIA the whole day and gave reason due to the chat conversation moved to archive.

Question: Does it gives you the right to ignore the chat when you move it to archive tabs?

got a case with Traveloka

Got plan to purchase flight ticket, went in on 22/02/2025 to see the estimate price and at that time, passenger yet to give confirmation. The price was RM577.16

Bought the flight ticket on 23/02/2025 around 2PM for the price of RM697.94

On 24/02/2025 evening time, check again for the same ticket with same departure date, time and policy, the price is back at RM577.16

Feeling short-change, create the new booking ID to show comparison but never made payment. The purpose is also to have black and white in case Traveloka deny it.

As per my understanding, when the date is getting nearer to departure time and seat limitation, price will hike. Fyi, departure date is 26/02/2025.

Bring it up to Traveloka about the above and they don’t want to match the price. Traveloka said the price fluctuates due to demand vs supply thingy. Ask them about the TNC but unable to provide as it is between them and the airlines.

What can I do now? Just absorb the RM120 loss?

Living life the angmoh way

Ever wondered why it’s called “Crazy Rich Asians” and not “Crazy Rich Caucasians”? That’s because a large majority of mat sallehs prefer to live a life full of new experiences and fun than a world of materialism and shopping sprees.

Asians on the other hand are too obsessed with money. Mat Sallehs wish “Merry Christmas” while Chinese wish each other “Gong Xi Fa Cai” or increase the wealth.

You should live life like a westerner once in awhile. It’s pure happiness and bliss to be able to experience new cultures and meet new people instead of obsessing over who has more money.

True story.

Poor 4.3 times more likely to die in car accident

People people are 4.3 times more likely to die in car accidents due to driving cheaper older cars with less safety features.

So, is it really true that Malaysian ultra rich are driving cheap cars by choice as theorized by a lot of 20k a month peeps, while their counterparts in America are driving more expensive cars with better safety features to prevent car fatalities?

Article as per below.

Traffic fatalities in the United States have been plummeting for years, a major victory for regulation (strict drunken driving laws have helped) and auto innovation (we have safer cars). But that progress obscures a surprising type of inequality: The most disadvantaged are more likely — and have grown even more likely over time — to die in car crashes than people who are well-off.

New research by Sam Harper, Thomas J. Charters and Erin C. Strumpf, published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, finds that improvements in road safety since the 1990s haven't been evenly shared. The biggest declines in fatalities have occurred among the most educated. As for people 25 and older with less than a high school diploma, fatality rates have actually increased over time, bucking the national trend:

The underlying issue here is not that a college degree makes you a better driver. Rather, the least-educated tend to live with a lot of other conditions that can make getting around more dangerous. They own cars that are older and have lower crash-test ratings. Those with less education are also likely to earn less and to have the money for fancy safety features such as side airbags, automatic warnings and rear cameras.

The number of trauma centers, the researchers point out, has also declined in poor and rural communities, which could affect the health care people have access to after a collision. And poor places suffer from other conditions that can make the roads themselves less safe. In many cities, poor communities lack crosswalks over major roads. The residents who live there may have less political power to fight for design improvements like stop signs, sidewalks and speed bumps. As a result, pedestrian fatalities in particular are higher in poor communities.

"It's true that there are big differences in the quality of the residential environments that people have in terms of their risks of accidental death as pedestrians," Harper says.
The role of behavioral differences is murkier. Some studies show lower seat-belt use among the less-educated, but seat-belt use has also increased faster among that group over time, meaning socioeconomic differences there are narrowing. Data on alcohol use is also conflicting.

The chart above, based on National Center for Health Statistics data used by the researchers, captures miles traveled not just by car, but also bus or other motor vehicles (the poor are more likely to use transit, while the wealthy travel more by private car). The fatalities, though, also include the deaths of pedestrians and cyclists struck in car crashes.

In 1995, these death rates — adjusted for age, sex and race — were about 2.5 times higher for people at the bottom of the education spectrum than those at the top. By 2010, they were about 4.3 times higher. That means the inequality of traffic fatalities is getting worse, even as it looks nationwide as if our roads are getting safer.

As we increasingly fantasize about new technologies that will save us from our own driving errors — cars that will brake for us, or spot cyclists we can't see, or even take over all the navigation — we should anticipate that, at first, those benefits may mostly go to the rich.

Source https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp...in-car-crashes/

More young Malaysians filing for bankruptcy

More and more youngsters are feeling pressured into living luxurious lifestyles, especially after seeing how the other half live on social media platforms.

But, there are also more and more youngsters going bankrupt.

As according to Sinar Harian, Hijrah Wealth Management founder and consultant Rohani Mohd Shahir shared during the Wacana Al-Quran Siri 8 by the Karangkraf group titled, ‘Bankruptcy at a Young Age’, that she rarely used to see people aged 40 and below filing for bankruptcy. But now, there is quite a rise in the number of Malaysian youngsters going bankrupt due to the ‘Five Series Loan’.

The five factors included in the ‘Five Series Loan’ are the personal loan, education loan, car loan, mortgage loan and credit card loan.

“The five factors when combined are very easy when it comes to bankrupting a person, especially a young person. Based on statistics from 2015 to 2019, it also shows that 85,000 people who are bankrupt are those aged 25 years and below,” she shared.

However, she added that the number of people who are bankrupt today is very high and have reached about 600 people including those below the age of 44.

“Included under those numbers are young people aged 25 years and among the reasons for bankruptcy are that many young people are found to be guarantors to their parents’ vehicle loans and there are also groups of young people who go bankrupt because they want to be in ‘style’, which is to have more than one credit card.”

Apparently, Malaysia has reached a level in which 11 million people have been identified as owning a credit card and that 25-year-olds are carrying at least five credit cards.

“I hope that young people will be more focused on such statistics and do not lead their lives to have various debts until bankruptcy as early as 25-years-old,” she added.

Many Malaysians are still stuck in having luxurious lifestyles despite not having the income for it.

We should all learn to cut our coats according to our clothes, and not feel embarrassed by it. You’re not the only one out there who wants to live a luxuriously and comfortable life but can’t because of your income. But hey, the bright side is, at least you won’t go broke.

SOS

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

https://worldofbuzz.com/more-and-more-young...cy-says-expert/

Is it true that more and more young people are spending beyond their means to impress people on social media until they are willing to go into debt for it? Do you personally know of any friends who willingly go into debt to finance an iPhone or AP watch?

Bincangkan (30 markah).

Eating the cheapest item on the menu

Does it make any sense?

To eat the cheapest item on the menu knowing full well that you are at least going to pay for your own meal?

If you are a rich person, would you be ordering the cheapest item on the menu for yourself?

You are what you eat. Your body is your temple. And if you are cheapening out on nourishment for yourself just to spend on expensive cars and watches, what does that say about you?

Financial difficulties?

The Devil’s Music

Legend has it that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads in exchange for a musical talent far beyond mere mortals.

He participated in only two recording sessions, culminating in a single album- King of the Delta Blues Singers, released years after his death. He died at the age of 27 (another famous musician who is part of the club 27) and is instrumental in bringing Delta Blues to the mainstream.

Some people say that if you listen carefully to his recordings, you can hear two distinct guitars playing concurrently when there is only one guitar. That’s some serious talent right there.

His wiki page is here

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Johnson

The Netflix documentary can be viewed here

https://www.netflix.com/my/title/80191049
