A question from a noob

Hi there,

I have been doing some readings and now a little confuse with so many theories around. I am 27 years old, 171 cm tall with 55kg. My body is slim except for my belly.

Now, I have started lifting two weeks ago. I can see some results on my body, but my belly remains the same. I came across articles that tell me to do a 20 minutes cardio after my workout. But there are also articles that say I should just focus on my workout and leave cardio for rest day. So, which is more effective for my case?

Someone also tells me that my body will use the fats at my belly to build muscle on other part of the body. Is it true?

FYI, I am currently using a four-day-split program. First Day on Chest, second day on leg, third day on shoulder and tricep, and fourth day on lats and biceps. I am using the 12 reps times 4 set mode. Do you think this plan is suitable for me? As you probably would have guessed, my aims in to build muscle, but not to the extend of becoming a hulk. I just want to look more balance, lean, and healthy. As for now, my arms and legs are thin and long, so I look imbalance like a monkey.

Hope sifu sifu out there can give me a tips or two.

Thank you

Diploma in Piano Teaching

I am just wondering any piano teacher out there (or if you know one) that teaches Diploma in Piano Teaching (ABRSM, Trinity, or ANZCA)? I am trying to find one nearby Cheras maluri area.

I hope to further my study in Piano, especially in the area of pedagogy. I have been teaching for few years, and seek to make myself competent in this area.

Music College like ICOM and UCSI is out of the picture because they required full time study (which i don't have that privilege of time). I really hope that some college will come out with part time courses for music.

Thanks

Used Piano Book

Dear Piano Learner,

I believe you have bought many piano books for your lesson. I guess many of those books are now lying in your cupboard, and could be cover with dusk. Why don't you sell the books to new students who need it at lower price. They just need a decent book, not new book all the time. Bless others at the same time bless yourself.

Particularly there are books that only some people can get hold of. Hope that you can share your piano book with piano students in Malaysia. Perhaps someone can start a used book thread in buy and sell column.

Cheers

Computer for Music Recording

I am going to buy a desktop for my music recording at home. Can anyone help me with the quotation? My budget is RM2k. Basically i don't any sound card because I already have a professional soundcard. I am thinking of boosting the ram and processor only. Perhaps like this:

Processor: Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz
Ram: 4 GB DDR2 800Mhz

If possible a big screen. VGA card can be just built in cause i only use it to watch movie for leisure.

And i need a firewire port to connect to my soundcard. I don't know which motherboard that best compatible with the processor.

Harddisk: 500GB with 7200rpm and above (if there is)

Basically, what i need is just raw processing power because i cannot afford to hang in the middle of recording. moreover, those recording software really eat resources.

Can kindly give advice?

Looking for Jazz Piano Teacher

I did Jazz Piano Lesson with a teacher last year. But sadly, she migrate to another country end of last year. I only learn from her about 6 months. Really enjoy the classes, but it ended too early.

I am looking for Jazz Piano teacher. Any graduates from Berklee or teacher at ICOM or Sedaya?

I also want to learn arrangement and sequencing. But don't know where to start.

I usually play in the church and functions.

I have a Motif XS7 at home, so should be enough to use for sequencing.

I am staying in KL.

Anyone can recommend good jazz piano teacher?

Thanks
