As per title.. is there any other form of investment or deposit that offers better return than FD?
I've checked out foreign currency FD but the risk is on forex fluctuations..

please no stock because i have no experience in stock at all..
and stock is a very high risk investment type..
i prefer something like FD with minimal if no risk at all..

[WTA] Buying property without going through agency

I would like to ask if i can sell or buy a house without going through an agent?
Usually an agent need to register with an agency but i do not want to go through them, can i do that?

let's say A wants to sell house belongs to B.
Found a buyer to pay 500k but B sells at 400k.
A will take the 100k from the balance.

This is not going through agency and no commision is paid to agents.. can this be done?

I am in IT field and can take up an MBA or masters in management or Masters in IT
But so far i've found only open universities that offers self learning/e-learning.

I prefer to self learn as i've already have a family and work, therefore taking time off to attend class will be a hassle..

i have 2 linux servers..

one i ftp files to server A i get the permission as read and write
but i ftp files to server B i get only read permission on the files..

is there any settings i can do in the server to make the files as read and write when I ftp the files to server B?

Notebook fail to run

Dear guys..
need your help here..
my notebook recently ceased to run from the first Acer screen itself!
not even bootable with DVD or with harddisk..
it stays on the first Acer screen..
all keyboard buttons can work.. but the fan seems to stop once reach the acer screen after turning on..
F2 to go to options and F12 for multiboot system
pressed F2 and it shows PLease wait.... but then it stays there forever!
seriously wat had happen to my notebook?
how much is it to send to acer service centre if out of warranty?

im a newbie on this property thingie..
recently went to view showrooms around PJ area..
i went to 2 showrooms.. and both showrooms agent/staff.. asked me to sign up a form..
first time it was some purchaser form.. i declined of course.. the lady said it is something like registration/mailing list for future news launch..

the 2nd showrooms under diff developer did the same.. i went in and they shoved me with a form.. but this one shows registration form.. telling me for future launch.. of course i declined again.. but this is coz that unit is all sold out..

is it normal/ok to fill in such forms? cuz im new in buying property.. still looking actually..

cuz i need to protect my folders in my external HDD.. my external HDD might be transferring to lotsa ppl but i need to password protect certain folders to prevent from other ppl accessing it when using my external HDD..

3.5G or 3G with > 1Mbps download speed (384Kbps just ain't working for me)
slide or clamshell (no classic/candybar)
good/convenient user interface

well.. i have used SE and Samsung but both have sms limit.. and samsung the worse.. only 250 inbox sms space..
i was lookin at Nokia 6500 slider not the classic.. but the 3G only 384Kbps..
can anyone recommend me some models or diff brand?

Zen Vision W can't detect!

Dear all...

as per my topic suggests.. i got a new zen vision and my pc cant detect it..
whenever i plugs into the USB.. i get this error..

A HI-SPEED USB device is plugged into a non-HI-SPEED USB hub.

I tried several ports and still the same..
i've installed all softwares bundled with the player still no solutions..

is it because my USB is an older version? cuz i tink it's like 1.1 or 1.0 version USB..

please help.. if not cant play my mp3!

Disk checking

dear all..

i have this dell server poweredge 2800 i tink.. it is running disk checking for the past 20++ hours..

how do i stop/quit it?
i called up dell and they ask me to exit.. it does not have any exit button..

it is those disk check that when u reboot it will shows some windows screen then ask for inconsistency check i tink.. then press any button to quit..

cuz i remote boot so i cant quit.. so now it's running disk checking.. how to stop it other than rebooting? cuz i tink rebooting will corrupt the HDD at least.. it's running 250Gb on raid 5..

please help..

Lappie need to format

Here's the deal.. i bought a notebook like a year ago for office use.. company sponsor most of it..

then now i got another notebook.. this one is from my company.. so i wanted to format my old lappie.. accidentally i formatted and reinstalled with *ahem* XP pro.. end up i cant use the CD key at the bottom of my lappie?

so how and wer can i install back my original XP software into my lappie? i only get the recovery disc from the shop.. i cant install using ahem copies and use the lappie cd key cuz it says invalid..

so was wondering if i can bring my lappie back to the shop in KLCC and ask them to reinstall my PC to the original XP pro? or i need to bring back to acer for them to install back ?
