Rakyat to blame for surging Cobis cases

I step out of my apartment unit in the top flooor only once everyday, to pick up food that Grab or Foodpanda riders left at the table in the lobby.

But I noticed that people are NOT staying in their units, they are walking all over the place, visiting friends, going dating, etc

Almost everytime ayam in the lift, the lift will stop at the lower floors for 2-3 people, usually young guys, to go in.

During the rare times when I go outside, I noticed there are a lot of people and cars outside .... VERY UNLIKE mco 1.0.

It's like many ppl are no longer sked of cobis.

Not to mention that some ppl still do not wear masks ...even in a shopping mall.

So don't blame the gomen, it's the rakyat that's failing us.

I hope I survive the pandemic and get the opportunity to move to a more law abiding place like Singapore, despite my graying hair.

SS15 rojak+cendol in PJ State

Last night I went all the way to PJ State to have a hair cut coz my regular hair salon closed.

Got a male hairstylist. Darn, I hate it when a guy plays with my hair ... feels gay.

After haircut I spotted a restaurants named "Subang SS15 Rojak and Cendol". It's besides KFC.

So I went in and eaten lor. Both rojak and cendol veli veli good. The santan in cendol very thick I enjoiced.

Anyway, I've never eated at the famous rojak stall in SS15 .....so I'm not sure the PJ State restaurant is an actual branch of the Subang stall.

PETALING JAYA: A moment’s distraction – that’s all it takes for one to fall victim to a scam that could lead to one’s bank account being wiped almost clean.
Police warned yesterday of a scam whereby thieves have siphoned off thousands of ringgit after they cunningly steal ATM cards and PIN from unsuspecting bank customers.
Unlike a hit carried out by organised crime syndicates using ATM card skimmers and sophisticated gadgets, the latest cases, recorded by police nationwide, involve a simple method.
A Bukit Aman police officer told theSun the thieves would usually work in groups of two to three, including a woman.
“Their targets are those making cash withdrawals at the ATMs,” the officer said.
“One of them would scatter a few RM1 or RM10 notes on the floor near their intended victim while he or she in the midst of a banking transaction.
“One of them, usually the woman, would call out or tap the victim on the shoulder to say he or she had dropped the money.
“And just as the confused victim is distracted and turns around or bends down to pick up the money, an accomplice would quickly swap the victim’s ATM card with a similar-looking card, probably that of a recent victim.
“One of them would have spied on the victim’s PIN as it was being punched earlier at the start of the transaction.
“The unsuspecting victim would collect the cash dispensed from the ATM and walk away with someone else’s ATM card while their own card is in the crooks’ possession.”
In an incident on Feb 12, a 47-year-old newspaperman lost all his savings in three accounts at a bank.
The incident occurred at about 4pm on Jalan Masjid Negeri in Penang, when C.H. Ng was withdrawing money using his ATM card.
Just as the machine was dispensing the cash, a woman tapped him on the shoulder and told him some money had fallen out from his pocket.
“I looked down and saw two RM10 notes and several RM1 notes on the floor near my feet,” Ng said.
He picked up the notes, thanked the woman, and turned to the ATM.
“To my relief, the money dispensed by the ATM was untouched. I had heard of cases where people lost their money after being momentarily distracted,” he said.
Ng said he retrieved the ATM card and left the bank with his money.
However, when he used the card again to withdraw money near his office in Petaling Jaya last Friday, he was shocked to find that the card was not his but that belonging to a woman.
He checked his accounts online and found that money from his three accounts had been wiped out and had balances of only RM2, RM5 and RM30.
Ng lodged a police report at the SEA Park police station in Petaling Jaya.
Police said one of the earliest reported cases involving the same method was in June last year when a credit card agent last RM5,000 in Seri Gombak.
The victim told police he saw three people, including a woman, in the bank when he went to withdraw money at night.
Just as the machine was dispensing cash, the woman called out to him in a foreign language and pointed to some bank notes on the floor.
The victim initially did not pick up the money but the woman kept gesturing to him to pick up the notes and even indicated that she had back pain.
Just as the victim picked the cash up, the woman and a man standing behind him left the bank in a hurry.
The victim put the money back on the floor and turned to continue his bank transaction but it failed.
He ejected the card and re-inserted it into the slot and, to his suprise, the name on the screen was not his.
By the time he called the bank to freeze his account, the thieves had withdrawn his money from another location.
Police urged those approached in a similar fashion to stop their transaction immediately and contact the police or bank security.

According to the state-run Global Times, a female student at the prestigious Peking University placed an ad offering 10,000 yuan a day to a man willing to go home with her for Spring Festival.

She said in the posting that her parents had told her to bring a man home or "you can forget about coming home for the holiday", the report said.

One organisation, called the Xiao Bai Alliance, is helping bring "special friends" together for the holiday to please anxious parents, the report said.

I was walking to the lift after tea when I saw someone pulling a trolley.

Glancing at him, I got a shock. He looked like a zombie. His hair was falling out, his face was skelatal, his is very very thin. He looks so bad you can't really tell his race or gender anymore - I assume it's a 'he' since he doing a manual job.

Dunno why, many of the guys in my workplace are compulsive gamblers.

Had a talk with an office boy who had lost his parents.

Asked what are his plans now.

He said he plans to buy a house when he wins lottery. He then 'impressed' me with his knowledge of the various lotteries in Mahersia.

So I advised him that it's almost impossible to win big by gambling. That he better put his money and focus on something useful.

Did he thank me for the valuable advice? No. He got emotional and called me a big mouth. Say God will bless him with a lottery windfall.

Inside, I laffed and laffed. What a retard.

Marry maybe ... many Japanese girls, like girls from other developed Asian countries, are "realistic".

But for XXXing ... from one I've seen and heard ... they prefer darker-skinned, macho fellas.

I once saw a very pretty Japanese girl in KLCC holding hands with a Malaysian dude who looks like a taxi driver/waiter (I mean the dressing, the way he carries himself etc)

New fuel subsidy system

In future, the rebate will not likely be in the form of one-off cash payment of RM625, but rather something like RM50 a month stored in the MyKad, said the report.
It is learnt that the owners would have to register with Maybank to receive the rebate which can be used to offset the cost of purchases at the pump.

If this is true ... if petrol price hits RM3, and the rebate is only RM50 a month ... many people will cry and inflation will spike.

If you are driving and she starts showing small gas attitude, stop by the roadside and ask her to walk home alone. Tried that a couple of times and the gals quickly said: "Please, don't leave me!" Voila, immediate cure fpr gas problems

Pennsylvania gym killer blogged his own massacre

NEW YORK, Aug 5, 2009 (AFP) - A man who shot and killed three women in a Pennsylvania health club, then himself, apparently blogged his rage-filled preparations -- with the final chilling entry announcing the "big day" of the massacre.

The killer, who late Tuesday burst into the LA Fitness Gym in Bridgeville, near Pittsburgh, and unleashed a spray of gunfire, appeared to have written the blog on a personal web page starting last November.

On the eve of the killings, he wrote: "Took off today, Monday, and tomorrow to practice my routine and make sure it is well polished.... Tomorrow is the big day."

The blog has still to be authenticated by police and was removed from the Internet early Wednesday.

If authentic, the net diary reveals in unusual detail the sinister and twisted thought process of a man crippled by sexual frustration, anger at women, self-pity, and depression.

It identifies the writer as George Sodini, 48, shown in a picture attached to the blog to be a lean, white man with slightly greying hair and wearing a smart blue shirt.

Police say Sodini, a member of the gym, sprayed gunfire into a Latin dance class after turning out the lights to make escape harder. Three women died and about 10 other people were wounded before he apparently killed himself.

In the blog, Sodini writes as far back as November 5, 2008, that he "planned to do this in the summer" but decided to see the result of the presidential election won by President Barack Obama.

In December, he again wrote that he'd "planned to do this already" and sets January 6 as the new date.

Less than two hours before the appointed time on that day, he apparently writes: "I wish life could be better for all and the crazy world can somehow run smoother. I wish I had answers. Bye."

But the next entry describes him pulling out at the last minute: "It is 8:45PM: I chickened out! Shit! I brought the loaded guns, everything. Hell!"

Throughout nine months of rambling entries Sodini reveals his fixation on rejections from women and his extreme sexual frustration.

"Who knows why. I am not ugly or too weird. No sex since July 1990 either (I was 29)," he writes.

"Last time I slept all night with a girlfriend it was 1982. Proof I am a total malfunction. Girls and women don't even give me a second look ANYWHERE. There is something BLATANTLY wrong with me."

He is angry at a brother whom he describes as a bully and what he says was his distant relationship with his father. In April he also blogs about his worries over being laid off at work, where the recession is starting to make an impact.

Ironically, the blogger writes that going to the gym helped him relieve his psychological problems.

"My anger and rage is largely gone since I began lifting weights," he wrote in December last year.

But those positive feelings are fleeting and the blogger appears to be set on preparing his destructive end.

"What is it like to be dead? I always think I am forgetting something, that's one reason I postponed," he wrote. "In this case, I cannot make a return trip!"

In the last entry, dated August 3, he describes alarm at meeting a happy neighbor, who he worries will distract him from the murders.

"I need to remain focused and absorbed COMPLETELY."

Woman fakes pregnancy to force marriage

After gaining the confidence of the boyfriend’s parents by portraying herself as an obedient and hardworking woman, she obtained two loans from them totalling RM12,000 on the pretext of wanting to start a business.
She said she needed the money as she had left her savings account books at her home in Seremban.
The con job was only exposed when an envelope she had handed them to drop into a bank’s cheque deposit box was found to be empty instead of containing a post-dated cheque for RM10,000 meant to be part of her repayment of the loans.
The doubting parents then took her to a clinic where an ultrasound scan showed that she was not pregnant.
Despite the woman’s attempt to postpone the wedding reception, it went ahead as scheduled but none of her relatives turned up.
A week after the marriage, the bride ran away, prompting the in-laws to lodge a police report.
They decided to publicise the case to alert others to the the runaway bride’s ploy after she was seen with another man in Malacca.

Auctioning my EPF nomination, will

This is one of the hare-brained ideas that I come up with from time to time.

Now, I don't have anyone to nominate because
- I don't plan to get married and I don't really like kids.
- my brothers, relatives etc don't deserve any money from me

I was thinking, "why not get people to bid to be my EPF nominee?"

To take this further, why not get people to bid to be named in my will ... to be the sole beneficiary of my estate, which is worth around half a million ringgit, mostly in properties ... and i expect it to be worth much much more in the future.

So my questions are:
- is this crazy idea feasible?
- how much is considered a reasonable bid?
