Should I still go for it?

We (A and I) were colleagues until I left the company. Talked on and off but convos were more safe topics (work, interests outside work) so we barely got to know one another that well.

Before I left, I did mention that I'd like to "get to know you better" and "keep in touch", and also subtly asked A out but A might have interpreted it as a friendly hang out, which I do not mind as I prefer taking things slow. A agreed and showed positive signs though it might just be courtesy.

Fast forward couple of weeks and learnt from ex-colleagues that A is leaving as well and would be going abroad for postgraduate studies soon.

Should I still think of pursuing further? (try to ask A out before A leaves MY)

Road to High Finance Careers (2020 and hereon)

What's the best role to gain experience in order to seek careers in IB, CF, Private Equity these days for a local private uni accounting/finance fresh graduate (UK affliation) with a CGPA of >3.9?

Big 4 Audit? Big 4 CF departments? Big 4 Management Consulting/Performance Improvement? Banking Management Associate Programs?

Hi all, I'm a recent Accounting & Finance graduate but am really not sure what I should pursue.

I've done an Audit internship with a Big 4 though I wouldn't exactly say I enjoyed it as I don't really like Accounting in general. The common pathway would be - go to the Big 4 for Audit then jump to commercial, but I'm pretty concerned if it would limit me to a accounting related roles in the future.

I was then thinking about going the Banking route but then am a little discouraged if it's hard to switch out of Banking if I end up finding it's not my cup of tea.

And then, it also led me to see if I could see if I could try out my hand on those consulting graduate programmes, which is not easy to get in but try regardless) but unsure as well what career options it can open me up towards.

So at this point, I'm not sure what I should apply to and am thinking of just applying and at the role of a dice, see which firm I get into and let that be my destiny?

Oh and about my strengths/skills - I'm inclined to thinking in terms of systems, which is similar to what an engineering mindset brings. And also, I would say I'm good at tech and can pick up software easily as well as am quite fluent in Python which I self taught myself.

Matched with a girl almost 2 days ago and haven't heard back ever since the first message I sent.

Naturally, was curious about her, went on FB and managed to find her profile.

Would it look desperate/odd if I DM her on FB and start chatting there if I could? Do keep in mind she didn't share her socials on her Tinder profile.

Inb4 the message I sent was just a "Hey". My openers have got replies from all my matches except her.
