Building a new gaming rig

I am planning to built a new gaming rig these 2 weeks and have arrived at this built (prices from c-zone).

I will be playing these games at 1920 x 1080 with max settings.
- Diablo 3, Skyrim, Witcher 2
- Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, Rage, Crysis 2
- Starcraft 2

Unifi portal account

Here is what happened, I applied for Unifi using online registration, completed the registration only to realize I made a mistake in the house number.

TM Unifi called up to confirm installation and I told them the house number is wrong. TM Unifi say the order will have to be cancelled since I have provided a wrong house number. They are adamant that it cannot be altered to correct the house number.

The scheduled installation date has passed and I try to register online again to be stopped because the system said I am already an existing Unifi customer (registering using IC number)

If I login to the Unifi portal using the username I have created during the online registration, do I have the option to remove the account?

Dell battery meter app

Dell notebook has an app which display the batter charging status, unlike the one in Windows, this app has an option for you to disable charging until the next boot.

Anyone here knows where can I download it? I have tried Dell's drivers and support site but could not find it there.

Dell laptop without OS

Anyone knows if we can purchase laptop without OS if we buy from Dell online?

I am interested in their XPS 16. I have tried customizing online but could not remove the OS or choose DOS/Linux instead.

I don't feel like paying 300+ for Win7HP as I could use the extra for bigger cell battery and RAM.

PC auto restart on its own

My PC is behaving erratically these 2 days, it restart on its own but will never successfully get restarted. Here is how it happen

1. Doing some work
2. PC suddenly restart on its own
3. Lights on motherboard comes on, heard usual disk activity sound from hard disk
4. Motherboard shut down and attempt a restart
5. Keep looping step 4
6. Can successfully restart by shutting off power and doing a cold boot

The restart problem happens in
1. While in Windows (no definite pattern to replicate problem)
2. At the CMOS configuration screen
3. While Windows is starting
4. While PC is booting (just right after the RAM initialization)

Any ideas what could be the problem? Faulty RAM or faulty hard drive? My PC is only slightly over a year old.

Is there any software diagnostic tool that could help pinpoint the problem?

Streamyx 1Mbps via ISA network card, bottleneck?

If I use a 16bit ISA network card for Streamyx 1Mbps, would there be performance degradation compared to a 32bit PCI network card?

Reason I asked is I couldn't find a PCI rev 2.1 card, which is what my mobo support.

Building a new rig

I'm building a new rig since the one I have is a 10 years old PII. I will be using it for gaming and internet, able to run 24/7 without overheating and able to last me 5 years or more (discounting new games support). My budget is no more than 3.5k.

I won't be needing monitor, speaker, keyboard and mouse. I will be using the onboard sound and LAN card.

CPU: C2D E8200
GPU: EN8800GT 512MB 256Bit
RAM: 4GB XMS2 6400C4DHX D2
HDD: 500GB SEAGATE 32M SATA2
MOBO: ASUS P5N-D
DRIVE: DVD/DVDRW

1. Comment welcomed.
2. Do I need any thermal solution for the above config?
3. Any advantage if I choose Poseidon chassis and 460W PSU or a normal ATX with 300W PSU? The former will set me back roughly RM350.
