Just obtained a W201 Mercedes or known as 190E, witn the M102 2.0 Fuel Injection Engine under the hood with 4 Speed Auto box...

Offcoz, being more than 25 years old car, do have some home work need to iron it out, any particular workshop specialized in Old Merc?

Also what is the common problem of this car? if any sifus out there know do also let me know..

Preferable around KL, PJ area if possible..

Want to get a (obviously) 2nd or 3rd hand either BMW e34 or Merc W124

Objective to achive..

1. Continental Classic which can daily driven
2. Still heaps of potong kereta spare part source
3. not expecting cheap Saga maintenance but also not make me bengkrapt
4. Car will be a 2nd car only use to office (20km one way) but very2 jam situation.. so an Auto is a must.
5. Still worth going for Valet parking (just pushing my luck)..

Variant to look at:

1. Must be 6 cylinder (If can)
2. Auto
3. Cheaper body repair/remake.

Diesel Drinkers Club V.1

Since I can't find Diesel specific club in LYN. I would like to established the Diesel Drinker club, its open for all the cars/bikes/Lawnmower/Lorry/Semi-trailer/ships/plane owner that runs on Diesel engine and consume diesel fuel.

Short explanation on Diesel engine :

Compression stroke -- The piston moves back up and compresses the air.

Exhaust stroke -- The piston moves back to the top, pushing out the exhaust created from the combustion out of the exhaust valve.

Malaysia Diesel Grade

In which gave higher sulfur content compare to better grade of Diesel >Euro2 that translate into more dirtier Diesel and black smoke from exhaust (which is not applicable to all diesel machine, depends on the settings).

Most of the modern diesel engine are Euro 4 and above compliant (year 2005 and after). For special Malaysia case, the manufacturer usually downgrade their Diesel engine grade as low as EURO 3 compliant which some of the deleted the DPF settings (like BMW) to run better with Malaysia EURO 2 diesel fuel quality.

Note : Most of the klang valley petrol station already sell the Bio Diesel (B10), Bio Diesel fuel are mixture of Fossil based diesel fuel and Palm Oil which can be mixed to reduce the cost of Diesel Fuel production. However for some of the older diesel engine, Bio Diesel not really friendly to the rubbery part of the engine, such as fuel line hose, gaskets and others. And it is not advisable for older generation of Diesel engine drink the bioDiesel.

From what I gathered, only Petronas claim that their diesel fuel are 99% fossil based.
