Starting an LLP as an expat

Any expats here who has set up an LLP or someone with in depth knowledge about them?

Me (expat originally from europe) and my wife (malaysian) are pondering of starting an LLP here in Malaysia (Sabah) and we been wondering about how it will work out in practice. Am I actually allowed to do any work in it or do i need to get some sort of employment pass after setting it up? Is there any paid in capital requirements, etc involved?

We would basically be converting wife's Enterprise to an LLP (expats cannot own sole proprietorships, LLP can register no problem)

I'm eligible for PR later this year, but thats bit of an hit and miss in Malaysia. Heard plenty of horror stories some people still waiting for it after 20+ years in the country...

Yeah, how can power company suck so goddamn much, power outages pretty much every day (sometimes multiple outages)..

Was wondering is there some cheap gadget i can just plug into wall socket that leaves a log when power was out. Getting irritated enough of this crap, that was planning on grabbing a domain HowMuchCanSesbSuck and dump a log of power failures on the site

BTW, is there some government body in malaysia that oversees utility companies? Can i report it somewhere?

Whats up with GS1 Malaysia (about barcodes)

So, I'm in a situation that i soon need bunch of barcodes for our products. After searching online, looks like GS1 is the only official supplier of those.

Their minimum fee to get started is around RM 5k, which seems outrageous to get manufacturer number registered. Their pricing makes me wonder what the actual heck is going on because i can get 100 barcodes registered in GS1 Finland (same company in a country that has way higher income level compared to Malaysia) for less than RM 1.4k.

...and then theres lots of sites like barcodesmalaysia that sell barcodes for RM 80 to RM 8 a pop (depending on quantity) without any additional fees.

Anyone been dealing with barcodes here? Where did you get them (GS1 or somewhere else)? Any tips with this greatly appreciated so we don't run into problems later...

Enterprise, expat spouse and death....

Thing is, only malaysian citizens can start and run an Enterprise. As far as i know, expats cannot be part of that business structure.

But... What happens if your Malaysian spouse who owns the enterprise suddenly dies or is severly injured and cannot run the business anymore? Enterprise gets automatically dissolved and all employees kicked out? Or is there some way to keep the company going in that situation?

4G router help: per wlan bandwidth caps

Completely out of the loop about routers these days, so lets bug you guys about it.

Problem: Fiddly 4G network in my house and guests coming here and sucking the life out of my network. Need router that allows me to either set second guest wlan with hard bandwidth cap, or per device bandwidth caps.

And also need to see per device bandwidth usage, so i can identify the misbehaving devices that slow down the network.

Currently using huawei b525, so also works if theres some modified firmware for that available..

So, which one to get. TQ!

Hilux 2009 audio problem

Anyone here expert with older Hiluxes and their audio?

I have a weird problem on my 2009 Hilux.. Only tweeters on doors work, but rest of the speakers are all completely silent. First i thought it was broken head unit (had the old original Toyota one still in there), so I replaced it with new android player and still same problem persist.

Checked all the cables and connectors on head unit and doors, all seems pristine condition. Also checked fuses (only could find one audio fuse in engine fuse box).

Any recommendations highly appreciated how to get rid of this issue. Thanks.
