His sifus, I always do overseas shopping before but never get any single parcel detained at the custom as I always keep my FOB below MYR500 even this time.. but anyhow my parcel with FOB <500 is detained According the info I found online, goods with FOB <500MYR is exempted from custom duty. Aramex informed me regarding the detainment of package from UK recently which has a FOB value about 430MYR and CIF value of 800+MYR. Aramex claimed it should be the CIF value instead of FOB value which serves as the threshold for the custom duty (Please refer to the photo attached).

FOB value = goods value + shipping charges
CIF value = FOB + Freight charges + Insurance (10% of FOB)

As the freight charges from UK to KUL is fixed at 300+, doesn't this mean any parcel from UK with FOB value more than 200 is subjected to custom duty? Seriously....is this true....

However, in the email from Aramex, Im subjected to pay160MYR (inclusive of MYR120ish 10% SST + MYR35 processing fee for saving my day). My question is why isn't the custom duty included then? and why is my SST 120ish since my CIF is only 800+? I've emailed them on this and the staff responded the payable amount was a typo, the corrected one should be 80+MYR based on 10% of CIF. This is so suspicious. ?? AND AND my CIF Value is calculated by them based on the original price before discount, but in fact I have a 10% discount on my final price! They said they will try to 'change' but they are not sure if it works.

Final question, is SST applicable on any parcel with any value or there's a threshold as well? If so, shouldn't all parcel must be detained at custom before releasing? Thanksssss much please help.
