Lenovo Legion laptop fan stopped working

Hi everyone.

My friend has a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop where one of the laptop fans is defective. It basically stopped spinning, but every 3 seconds it will start spinning for like 0.5 seconds with a loud buzzing sound then it will stop spinning again. I found a Reddit thread where another person faced the exact same issue and they were suggesting that the fan bearing is off and should get the fan replaced.

My warranty is over including the extensions so my only option is to get it repaired and/or replace the fan.

I went to Lenovo's official support site, reached out to their live chat and was given a quotation for the fan part and it was almost RM300 just for the fan alone.

Is replacing the fan the only way or what are my other options?

Radeon RX 5700 driver issues

Hi, sifus.

I'm currently building a new PC, been eyeing the Radeon RX 5700 (non-XT or XT) card, mainly the Sapphire RX 5700XT Pulse OC (from Viewnet, RM1899), because it's cheapest.

But I've been doing some research and it seems there are a lot of people complaining that RX 5700 has driver issues where your game would crash, or you'd be lucky if you game and green/pink/black screens won't show up. Apparently this is AMD's issue and some people are saying that it's a compatibility issue with Windows. Reviews like from Gamers Nexus seem to point this out too. Not to mention some benchmarks online show that it gets very hot too compared to Nvidia RTX 2060 Super, and at certain occasions/games RTX 2060 Super seems to do slightly better than the RX 5700 XT.

I have a friend who has this card but said never had any problems with it, he's aware of like the driver problem but said AMD fixed them all. There are also a few people online who claims to have no issues with the card too.

I wish to get the most value out of the money spent but I hope to have a seamless experience, without having to deal with all this compatibility issues or random green/black screens. Had a bad experience with AMD CPUs few years back (overheating issues), but I'm willing to try AMD again.

1) May I know anyone who bought this card face this similar issue where your game crashes or you get green/black screens? Has it been fixed?

2) Would you still recommend to buy the card? If so, which particular manufacturer/model? And should I bother with getting the XT, or non-XT will do?

3) What is a good Nvidia equivalent (similar price point)? If so, which particular manufacturer/model?

Thanks for your help.

Some extra info on the build that might be relevant:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
PSU: Corsair TXM Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

Purpose: AAA gaming titles (max settings), video editing

Please suggest new router

Hi,

1) Please recommend a good, reliable router that is compatible to Unifi, hope that it can last for future Turbo upgrades, maybe up to 1Gbps. Budget under RM500.

2) Do I also need to replace my modem? Or the stock modem by TM is fine?

3) I'm new to this. What should I do so the 2nd floor WiFi signal can be improved? I heard something about buying a range extender. Or there are some settings in the router that I can configure to fix this, like using 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz bandwidth?

Thank you.
