If this was a mistake, it is embarrassing for someone who claims to champion the Malay language. If intentional, then it is even more serious. It reflects not just ignorance of the language but also an arrogant and racist attitude that should not exist in Parliament.
- Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng

Orang putih 3 ekor? AMANAH tegur Hadi Awang supaya beradab

SITI NUR ZAWANI
February 19, 2025

....
https://malaysiagazette.com/2025/02/18/lebi...mah-hadi-awang/
https://www.therakyatpost.com/news/2025/02/...-rojak-version/
https://harapandaily.com/2025/02/19/orang-p...supaya-beradab/

Najib spinning again ... AI generated meeting?

Najib said that the 2010 meeting in Saudi Arabia was also attended by then-foreign affairs minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, Malaysia’s then-ambassador to Saudi Arabia Professor Datuk Syed Omar Alsagoff, and then-minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom.

It has to be noted that during the SRC International Sdn Bhd trial, Mohd Nasharudin Amir, who was the then-assistant commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had testified that Jamil was in Malaysia on the date the purported meeting took place.

Nasharudin had told the High Court that an article in a bulletin published by the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) stated that Jamil Khir was in fact addressing a gathering in Putrajaya on that day.

There were pictures of the then-minister giving his address at an auditorium in Putrajaya, said Nasharudin, who had brought along a copy of the bulletin to show in court.

....

https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/740442

....

https://www.astroawani.com/berita-malaysia/...an-saksi-467440

Najib says he’s almost like modern-day Robin Hood

Datuk Seri Najib Razak told the High Court today that he could be described as a “modern day Robin Hood” with how he had used the money in his AmIslamic bank accounts – which he insists were donations from the late Saudi ruler King Abdullah and not from Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund.

“If the prosecution’s theory were true, I might as well be labelled a modern day Robin Hood – not enriching myself but using entrusted funds to serve the people through community programmes, welfare initiatives, and educational support.

https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/202...-jho-low/159658

Mahathir The Loaf Hypocrisy

“The one eatery with giant Chinese signage that gives you China feel serves forbidden meat, Tun M”

The administrator of his X account shared pictures of signboards which Dr Mahathir Mohamad himself took when at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has questioned the authorities for allowing shops to put up signboards in Chinese with English translations, with nothing in the Malay language.

Mahathir said he noticed several of such shops after visiting a newer shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur over the past weekend, saying “suddenly I felt I was in China”.

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has drawn flak from netizens over his criticism of signboards with large Chinese characters and English translations, but nothing in Malay.

A day after questioning if Malaysia had “become part of China”, the administrator of Mahathir’s X account shared pictures of such signboards of several shops at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping mall.

The administrator said these photos were taken by Mahathir himself when visiting the mall.

However, netizens were quick to disparage the political veteran, questioning why the signboards should be in Malay when these shops sold non-halal food and their target market was Chinese customers.

“If they write ‘roti babi’ (pork buns in Malay) then it would become another issue,” said @wafty_ali.

Similarly, @amino71165 said translating non-halal food products to Malay could “confuse” Muslims.

Others accused Mahathir of practising double standards, pointing out that the now-closed The Loaf bakery that he had owned had an English name and did not have a Malay translation.

One user, @matunique67, also asked cynically whether The Loaf had a Jawi translation on its signboard.

Yesterday, Mahathir said the use of Chinese characters on signboards was fine, but should be limited to translations in smaller characters.

He said his recent visit to Pavilion Bukit Jalil made him feel like he was suddenly in China. While he acknowledged that this could be due to the number of tourists from China, he maintained that “our national language is Malay”.

Last month, Kuala Lumpur City Hall said it had issued 20 fault notices and 10 enforcement notices to shop owners for “using languages other than the national language in an excessive manner” from January till Oct 16 this year.

It reminded shop owners to prioritise the use of Malay on their signboards, saying the signboards were not mere decorations but were regulated under the Advertisement (Federal Territory) By-laws 1982.

Kedai tu jual pau babi.

AS national language freaks defended Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad after he named Pavilion Bukit Jalil as the Kuala Lumpur mall that makes him feel as if “I was in China”, Muslim netizens have chided the twice former premier over his recent racist rant, contending that it is justified for the so-called food outlet ‘to spew’ Chinese characters.

Aside from being able to furnish evidence of only one business outlet (perhaps two) despite claiming that “all the signboards are in Chinese with English translations”, social media influencer Muhammad Najib (@muhammadnajib79) rightly pointed out that “the shop sells pork buns”.

“Chinese businesses have long practiced usage of Chinese language to discourage Malays, the most gullible and easily deceived race in the world, from patronising Chinese eateries that serve pork,” he penned in a post on the X platform in response to a tweet by Dr Mahathir who shared three photos what he meant by ‘huge’ Chinese signages.

“Imagine if the signage is written in BM (Bahasa Melayu), some triggered Malays will accuse the Chinese of trying to lure Malays into eating pork.”

Source : Focus https://focusmalaysia.my/the-one-eatery-wit...den-meat-tun-m/

Mahathir The Loaf – Malays Managers Steal Money, Bad Paymaster

But the most dramatic event which had made the old man mad was when he experienced for himself the dishonesty of fellow Malays. He said – “Now I have a bakery. I want to say honestly, I am ashamed because among the Malay, Chinese or Burmese or any other workers, the Malay ones sometimes when they see money, they forget themselves, they become dishonest.”

He revealed he was forced to sack many of his Malay staff working in “The Loaf”, his Japanese-inspired bakery, for swindling money. Apparently, his bakery business suffered a mini scandal when the daily collection was not deposited into the bank. A Malay manager was then caught red-handed stealing money from the cash register and the incident infuriated Dr Mahathir.

Mahathir shared his sobbing story – “I am operating a bakery and have given many opportunities to Malays to hold management positions. Unfortunately, time and time again, honesty and integrity appear to be lacking as there have been staff who keep stealing money. They do not seem to understand that it is wrong to take what is not theirs. They do not think of the big picture or the long term.”

“I have tried for 22 years to help the Malays, maybe I have failed although some may say that I did achieve some success.

“Values dictate if one race should succeed or not… like the Japanese, they are ashamed if they fail. That is why they are afraid to fail… but the Malays, they lack shame,” he said.

Dr Mahathir said the Malays are also bankrupt of honesty.

He claimed of first-hand experience in the matter when his bakery company, The Loaf, tried in the past to sack several managers for stealing money from the restaurants.

“My bakery was meant to help the Malays… give them jobs… but what they did was sapu (swept or stole) my money. That is the problem with the Malays. They don’t have honesty,” he said.

Because the Malays lack honesty and integrity, hence, Mahathir justified why he was forced to give contracts to the ethnic Chinese – “We have to be trustworthy so people will give contracts to us. When we want to give contracts, we give to the Chinese instead because we know they will do their work properly. This is our weakness – not being trustworthy.”

Mahathir slammed the Malays for being less committed to work, not hardworking and at times, not trustworthy. Speaking at his Vision 2020 Forum, he said – “I believe the Malays have the same capabilities as the Europeans and the Japanese. But, the Malay culture remains a problem.”

He had earlier mocked the Malays students – “I am ashamed when I see the Chinese students studying three different languages, but still have a better grasp of the English language compared with their Malay peers. The Malays study two languages, Bahasa Malaysia and English, but they keep saying ‘all right, that is enough, no need to learn English any more’.”

According to the New Straits Times, Mahathir unleashed his frustration at the Malays – “We accuse others. We accuse the government, accuse other races. When we fail, they are at fault. We are never wrong.”

Source : Finance Twitter

Source : Malay Mail

https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/201...r-m-says/744101

Najib Tak Salah AG MACC BNM TheEdge yang Salah

.... it was proven Najib had taken action in various capacities.

“Najib was therefore the ultimate decision-maker. He had also not seen fit to lodge any police reports in respect of the alleged involvement of others. Despite the fact that by 2015, the publicity about the financial scandal involving 1MDB surfaced, Amhari (Najib’s aide Datuk Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin) said that he received no instructions from Najib to lodge any reports with the authorities.”

The court also pointed to The Edge Media Group chairman’s March 6, 2015 meeting with Najib at the latter’s Langgak Duta home, where Tan Sri Tong Kooi Ong had walked Najib through the mechanics of how in 2009, US$700 million of 1MDB’s funds had gone into the bank account of Good Star Ltd — a company controlled by businessman Low Taek Jho. Tong had urged Najib to take action against Low, whereupon Najib showed Tong the door.

Najib’s removal of attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail and replacement with Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali — a former Umno Youth division chief — and removal of MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamad were noted by the court, as was the disbandment in 2015 of the special task force formed in 2014 to look into 1MDB and its dubious transactions.

“There was evidence that Najib had taken steps to cause Abu Kassim’s removal while Apandi, who replaced Gani, had closed the case. Sometime in July 2015, Najib instructed then Bank Negara governor (Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz) to release a statement stating there were no wrongdoings involving the monies credited to his accounts. However, Zeti refused,” the judge said.

Former PM warned audit firm, ‘wilfully blind’
Sequerah also said Najib instructed KPMG auditors to complete and sign off 1MDB’s financial statement audit for 2013, although the audit firm had yet to receive vital documents over its questionable Brazen Sky investments.

“KPMG’s former managing director, Datuk Johan Idris, described Najib’s instruction as a form of intimidation. Notwithstanding, KPMG was still unable to sign off the accounts as they were still lacking documents from 1MDB.

“As a result, on December 31, 2013, Najib terminated KPMG as the auditor for 1MDB with immediate effect, and replaced it with Deloitte KassimChan,” Sequerah said, adding that then second finance minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah cautioned Najib over the 1MDB-PSI joint venture, he was told to stay out of 1MDB affairs.

Moreover, secretly taped recordings, the judge said, also showed Najib’s attempts to cover up 1MDB issues with the help of other individuals.

https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/732721
'Basikal lajak' Judge tears apart DPPs over flaws

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Hadhariah Syed Ismail, who led the three-member Court of Appeal bench hearing Sam Ke Ting's final appeal in the "basikal lajak" case, was clearly irked by the prosecution.

At least twice she took the prosecution to task over the presence of the cyclists on the road at 3am.

Hadhariah first took the court by surprise halfway through deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Syafiq Mohd Ghazali's submission, when she raised the question of the law that permits "basikal lajak" cyclists to be on the road at that time.

Syafiq was momentarily lost for words while submitting about the victims' position on the road on the fateful night, as well as on the testimonies of 13 victims of the crash who survived, during trial at the lower courts previously.

Hadhariah questioned Syafiq on whether Sam's vehicle was on a legal road lane at the time, and if that was an offence, to which answered "yes" to the first question and "no" to the second.

"It is undeniable that the drivers' eyes were on the road when driving but the road was hilly, curvy and dark because the streets lights were covered by trees. The appellant (Sam) had said that she didn't even know that there was 'basikal lajak' activity.

"Can you show which law says if she does not know, she does not see (the group) because of the condition of the road, and she wanted to speed up to 100kph, that is wrong? Because, at 3.20am, the road is clear, people are sleeping at that time.

"She didn't see the cyclists, and she did not have the time to think because the accident happened in a blink of an eye. "Even a perfect driver would not be able to avoid any accident in that situation, even if there is a cat or even a turtle with its kids passing by," she said.

Hadhariah, who sat with Datuk Hashim Hamzah and Datuk Azman Abdullah, also took umbrage with DPP Tengku Amir Zaki Tengku Abdul Rahman, who concluded prosecution submissions by saying that there was indeed a prima facie case against Sam.

She asked about the 46th prosecution witness, who was the second investigating officer in the case, who testified that police had conducted an operation to nabbed "basikal lajak" cyclists just two days before the accident.

Hadhariah: So why would police want to nabbed them? Answer briefly, in just one sentence. Why?

Tengku Amir: To safeguard the cyclists' safety, because they endanger themselves as well as the public who drive through the area.

Hadhariah: I thoroughly examined the magistrate's proceedings notes and judgment so even the 46th witness (police/ IO) agreed that the dangerous situation was created by the cyclists. We're talking about 30 to 40 cyclists here, not one or two.

She said the investigating officer had agreed that the public had complained about the cyclists, and therefore that is why they wanted to nab the cyclists.

"I find that the magistrate's findings were correct when including the testimony of the 46th witness, and that the statement was favourable to the defence… right? It can no longer be disputed, right?

"We have to be honest here when we're talking about justice. One who was charged is presumed innocent until proven guilty and we are here for justice to prevail, so we have to be fair."

Hadhariah said the investigating officer's testimonies proved that the "basikal lajak" activity was never endorsed by the authorities, because it had been, then there would be a road sign cautioning road users about them.

She continued to give Tengku Amir an earful when she pressed him to answer her question "honestly", as it was now the month of Ramadan.

Both Hadhariah and the prosecutor went back and forth for a while longer before the prosecutor again concluded his submissions, and the judges heard the defence's reply and briefly adjourned before deciding to acquit and discharge Sam of the offence.

The three-member bench unanimously found that the charges against Sam were defective and therefore illegal.

Sam was previously accused of crashing into and causing the deaths of Azrie Danish Zulkefli, 14; Shahrul Izzwan Azzuraimie, 14; Firdauz Danish Mohd Azhar, 16; Fauzan Halmijan, 13; Azhar Amir, 16; Harith Iskandar Abdullah, 14; Shahrul Nizam Marudin, 14; and Haizad Kasrin, 16, on Feb 18, 2017.

Her charges, then, were framed under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333), which carries a maximum jail term of 10 years and a fine of RM20,000 upon conviction.

The 28-year-old clerk was previously acquitted and discharged by the magistrate's court on Oct 28, 2019, at the end of the prosecution's case without her defence being called.

The prosecution appealed the magistrate's decision to the High Court, and on Feb 18, 2021, the Johor Baru High Court sent the case back to the magistrate's court, asking Sam to enter her defence after allowing an appeal by the prosecution.

https://www.nst.com.my/news/crime-courts/20...awed-reasonings

Optizorb ,Apr 14 2022, 07:16 PM

Kes Basikal Lajak Pemanduan DiBawah Hadlaju 50Km/j

Kelajuan Pemanduan Orang Kena Tuduh (OKT) Di Bawah Hadlaju 50 Km/j.

At the close of the prosecution's case, subject the evidence led by the prosecution in its totality to a maximum evaluation. Carefully scrutinise the credibility of each of the prosecution's witnesses.
“Take into account all reasonable inferences that may be drawn from that evidence. If the evidence admits of two or more inferences, then draw the inference that is most favourable to the accused.”

KES TANGKAP TRAFIK NO: 83J-22-03/2017
PENDAKWARAYA
LWN
SAM KE TING
ALASAN PENGHAKIMAN

Like local gangster taking over

TLDR: You can work in a company, invest and build up the business BUT you cannot have your own company because you are a non. Thanks to rent-seekers aka vampires. "It is akin to the local gangster taking over the store you built over the years with blood, sweat and tears with the excuse it would really improve his bank balance."

Freight forwarders asked to disappear in order to feed unsuccessful entrepreneurs

SEPTEMBER 30 — William Munny stares icily at Sheriff Little Bill Daggett lying in a pool of blood, bullet-riddled and dying. The kill shot is forthcoming. Little Bill goes, “I don’t deserve this.” Munny replies, “Deserve’s got nothing to do with it,” before ending him.

The climax of Oscar winner Unforgiven relates eerily to the Malay Right’s demand to monopolise local freight forwarding.

Reason, fairness and honesty are unnecessary when the Malay elites — sorry, the rich Malay elites — want more. Everyone should step aside and let them thrive further. Those luxury cars and watches are not going to move out of the showrooms on their own, are they?

By the end of 2022, local freight forwarders must be Bumiputera. The rest, over the next 15 months, can sell or liquidate.

The oft repeated line to this development, raise Bumiputera equity to 51 per cent of said firms, masks that such alteration results in ownership transfer.

The ministry of finance and its minister decided this without the need to make valid arguments. Apparently, there was a schedule and review, and the third of Malaysians undeserving of Bumiputera status, should soon in the name of distributive justice not compete in this trade.

What would they do after, to stay legitimately in the industry?

They can work in a logistics company, share decades of experience and knowledge, they just cannot own one. There is a chance to get a performance bonus if things go well. From owner to star employee.

Freight forwarding — carrying commercial items — in a major trading nation like Malaysia in a major region like Asean is enormous in size and profit. It is also the classic opaque industry. Which is why the Mafia and gangsters have always been associated with freight forwarding in the movies.

And who benefits with this equity change?

There are almost a thousand and ninety members in the Federation of Malaysian Freight Forwarders (FMFF). The numbers are now due to shrink as the vast majority must exit. One division, the Malaysian Bumiputera Logistics Association, will reap the most from the situation.

Presently, FMFF is heavily dominated by those without the Bumiputera status. Not so in a year’s time.

However, it is not forgotten that the members of the FMFF, Bumiputera or not, are all capitalists.

he company employees — the many manual labourers, drivers, boat crew, repairmen and the rest — are only wage earners regardless of owners. Regardless, if they are Bumiputera.

My dad was the night-shift driver at Muthu Taxi, a KL cab company with a small fleet of cars. All Malaysian Indians but none make the error to mistake Muthu, the boss who dictates, with the full-time and part-time drivers who serve. Capitalist and his labour force.

I am not unclear about the capitalist fervour of freight forwarders and their own monopolistic past to benefit at the expense of customers and consumers.

However, the “grab as you like” nature of this forced change leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and wrecks the scales of justice.

In discourses about shifts in policy and approaches, there are arguments for both sides but this move, this brazen action has no balance. It is the very definition of imbalance.

It is akin to the local gangster taking over the store you built over the years with blood, sweat and tears with the excuse it would really improve his bank balance.

And why are these Bumiputera freight forwarders not prospering enough as it stands?

Or Bersatu, Umno and PAS together in government have raised the cumulative number of party supporters requiring guaranteed paths to commercial success?

Layers

Malaysians are well taught on equity adjustments.

This is the land of overnight firms formed on the back of political guarantees and legacy firms adept in creative readjustments to reposition themselves however the policies shift. The only thing they lose is the respect they have for the system.

Meaning, if the government wants to pass more to the Malay elites, the displaced turn into sub-contractors.

The cost is passed back to consumers eventually. The general consumer rarely gets to own more, only the privilege to pay more.

Is this a massive win for Malaysia, a sincere effort to fix wrongs?

The answer is self-evident, even if the resolve to do right is missing.

I have wondered how these rent-seekers sleep at night. It’s dawned on me — belatedly — that they are indeed vampires who do their mayhem in the cover of night. How about sleep? They let us labour over that, and when they need it they’ll just take it.

After all, deserve’s got nothing to do with it.

*This is the personal opinion of the columnist.

Thursday, 30 Sep 2021 07:51 AM MYT
By Praba Ganesan

https://www.malaymail.com/news/opinion/2021...entrepr/2009518

Karpal Singh, The Tiger of Jelutong lives on

If only the current leaders have the same principles as the Tiger of Jelutong and the late Tok Guru Niz Aziz. These gentlemen "walk the talk". The current politicians seem to subscribe to "Cash is King", money politics, GLC positions/ Lexus/ Mercedes (LGE, PAS, Perak MB) is an automatic right of mine .

"Karpal Singh, The Tiger of Jelutong lives on - Lara Ling

JUNE 28 — When Karpal Singh died in a car accident on 17 April 2014, his untimely death rocked the nation. A light went out in Malaysia that day. Malaysians from all walks of life deeply mourned the tragic passing of a great man and felt unspeakable loss, for few men were more well-loved than this one.

If Karpal were still alive, he would have turned 80 years old today. Despite the fact that he’s no longer around, his tireless contributions and heartfelt sacrifices for Malaysia are still felt up to this day.

He was a man of honour and integrity, a true hero of the people. He was uncommon for the common man. A friend to the oppressed and the marginalized, his heart always went out to the last, the lost, and the least.

Karpal fought tirelessly for the disabled. Being paralysed himself since 2005, he personally understood and experienced what it was like to live under a government that cared and provided so little for the disabled. He championed their rights to be treated equally, to be given opportunities just like everyone else.

Karpal fought relentlessly for our civil rights and democratic liberties. He stood up for the destitute and the downtrodden, for those who were helpless to defend themselves. Rich or poor, he took on court cases without choosing clients based on their financial ability. In many instances, he represented them on a pro bono basis.

Karpal fought tooth and nail against the abuse of political and judicial powers. Throughout his life, he fiercely battled against a legal system that often failed terribly at protecting the rights of ordinary Malaysians. Laws have changed because of him. In the literal sense of the word, he was a lawmaker.

Karpal also fought long and hard to abolish the death penalty. He took up numerous cases on capital punishment, saving many death row inmates from the hangman’s noose. Former International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) president Karim Lahidji once said, “When Malaysia eventually abolishes the death penalty, much of the credit will have to be given to the courageous work of Karpal Singh.”

Amazingly, he never expected anything in return. Not fame, not power, not position, not recognition.

A legend and a political giant, he was fearless in fighting for justice, human rights, and democracy. Even in the face of intense persecution, he never wavered and always boldly stood up to injustice. And he paid dearly for it.

However, his sense of justice was so strong that nothing could stop him. Not detainment without trial, not fines, not prosecution, not systemic harassment by the then Barisan National government. Not even a debilitating car accident that robbed him of physical mobility and confined him to a wheelchair could break his spirit.

Even though the 73-year-old statesman suffered greatly for his principles, he was always undeterred. "We cannot be discouraged, as that’s exactly what our enemies would want." In our current political climate, these words couldn’t ring more true. While deep darkness has fallen over our beloved motherland, let us be that light that shines bright especially when all around us is night.

Karpal never gave up. Neither should we. For that is what the great warrior would have wanted — for us to carry his hopes and dreams for a better Malaysia into the future. May his lifelong pursuit not be left unfinished.

For all the reasons above and many more, he will always have a very special place in our hearts. Thank you Karpal, for leaving us such a powerful legacy. You were committed to justice and equality, even until the very end.

Passionate and unbreakable, your life has truly been such an inspiration to all of us. We could never forget someone like you.

As you once poignantly said six years ago, "The fight goes on. You knock out one Karpal Singh, a hundred Karpal Singhs will rise." Indeed, the Tiger lives on. Malaysia, rise for what is right! Happy birthday, Karpal!

* This article was written in tribute to Karpal Singh whose birthday is today.

**This is the personal opinion of the writer or publication and does not necessarily represent the views of Malay Mail."

sos - https://www.malaymail.com/news/what-you-thi...ra-ling/1879541
