Researchers worldwide, using computer modelling
techniques, had identified multiple natural agents
active against the coronavirus, in particular the bioflavonoids.

Some of the studies were done in Indonesia.

Here's something the government or local doctors
don't know, or won't tell you rather.

I alerted both your health minister and director on Twitter on this, but as expected, they took no notice.

Several researchers worldwide have found that
the bioflavonoids, diosmin and hesperidin, are potent
coronavirus fighters.

You can find them in Daflon, the common medication
for hemorrhoids, anywhere.

Take two a day for prevention.

The other one, even more versatile, is EGCG, the green tea
compound. You can order it from Iherb or any health food
store.

In the studies, both Daflon and EGCG easily outperformed
remdesivir, the much-touted drug,

Sony Xperia Z2

Any of you out there using a Sony Xperia Z2 ?

My old Samsung Note One, given to me by my friend,
failed to start recently, so my nephew gave me
his Sony Xperia Z2.

Apart from no option to save new apps and files
to the large USB storage, causing the System Storage
to be used up very fast, the Samsung's operating
system and menu was very user friendly, well designed
and very comprehensive.

Moreover, the fonts are big, bold and very easy to
read for aging eyes.

That on the Sony is extremely unfriendly and badly
designed, with countless important functions and
options missing.

Not to mention faint, thin fonts and a very glaring background.

Worst, the ear speaker is very soft, even at maximum volume.
I thought the Samsung was soft enough, but the Sony is even worse.

When I transferred my SIM to the Sony, it couldn't
detect the contacts on it at first. (The Samsung used a mini SIM, so
I asked a phone stall to cut it to a Micro Sim for the Sony.)

After several attempts, the contacts seemed to
have surfacted.

However, when I tried creating and saving a new friend's
phone number, I was shocked when I couldn't find any
option to store it in the SIM.

There are only two options - either save to -

1. Your Google mail account, or
2. The phone

Where is that for the SIM card , like the Samsung and
virtually all other phones from old Nokias and Sagems
which I have used for the past two decades ?

You mean they never thought of creating a simple function
for storing individual contacts in the SIM ?

Editing current contacts, the same thing - you are stuck
with either Google or the phone's storage.

Searching high and low on the net, yes, there is all talk
about importing the whole load of contacts from your SIM
to your phone, or either vice versa.

But unbelievably, you are have no choice if you try to store
just one or two phone numbers in the SIM card.

Sony must have very incompetent programmers in their offices.

DOD FX-90 ANALOG DELAY

I found this old circuit diagram for the Dod Fx-90 analog
delay of the 1980s in my file.

It uses the Matsushita MN 3005 bucket brigade device IC.

Early models of the Boss DM-2 also had the MN 3005.

You can ask any friend who knows electronics to build

Club 95 Mhz and Great Bands

The private FM stations these days play total junk - that's
why I don't listen to any of them.

From 1979 to 1980, RTM ran a superb channel on FM
called " Club 95 Mhz " .

Every night, around 9 to 11 pm - I hardly missed a single
broadcast - they featured live concerts by classy groups
like Budgie, Iron Butterfly, Firefall, Supertramp, Journey
and Wishbone Ash.

That's when I was introduced to John Miles.

When they played the live version of "Overture" one night,
I quickly ran out, looked high and low, then bought his
"Zaragon" album.

I'd really like to hear one of you play the solo here. You don't
come across such classic rock solos from the crappy artistes
like Justin Beiber, etc these days.

Note that he used the classic Moog synthesizer just before
the solo. I was told that you can't get this type of sound on
the other analog synthesizers like Roland's Jupiter 8, let alone
the digital ones these days.

Homeless Man at Kentucky

This homeless man has been seen occasionally hanging around the
Kentucky Chicken at the corner of Jalan 21/19,Sea Park, PJ.

He's in his 70s.

Some of the customers there will buy him a meal there
every now and then.

He said he used to stay at his friend's house, but has
since been kicked out by the landlord.

I offered to help him try applying for welfare aid, but he
seems reluctant to give his IC details.

He used to hang around there fairly often, but less
frequently since they renovated the place a few months ago.

I've told the Salvation Army about him, but without a contact
address or phone number, it's going to be difficult for them to
catch sight of him.

If anyone of you happen to be there, maybe you can
see what you can do for him.

He said his name is Cheah Chin Meng.

I have been telling my nephew, as well as those in the

Like your girlfriend, my nephew and those in the FD forum
listened to silly rumors from their friends :

" Government is cheating us. EPF very hard to take out. "

" My friend's father said very hard to take out EPF. They give
him all kinds of reasons. "

" Goverment is going bankrupt. They are using our EPF. "

" EPF is a ticking time bomb. "

Did your read the papers ? 70 PERCENT of those reaching 55
have less then $ 50,000 in their EPF.

EPF sounds alarm as most contributors have less than RM50,000 at 54.

There are over 4 million people hitting 55 and over in the
country now.

This means that at least 3 million have less than $ 50,000 in
their EPF.

Like this woman in my ex-office. She said her brother, single,
an engineer, is now in his 60s with just $ 15,000 in his EPF.

If you are married, your children may not bother about you in
old age. Like my aunt in her 80s - I had to use my EPF to take
her see the doctor at the hospital just two months ago.

EPF is FORCED savings.

EPF is the only GUARANTEED support you will have in old age.
Nobody else is going to take care of you.

If you put everything in an FD, chances are you'll spent most
of it away by 55.

I told my nephew, either :

Direct his employer to deduct extra, say $ 500, to his EPF
every month, and/or :

Pump in yourself, as and when you can, up to the $ 60,000
limit EPF allows per year.

EPF interest has remained relatively stable between 4.25 and
8.50 percent for the last 50 years.

Take an average of 6.375 percent.

If you have the money, put in $ 10,000 in the EPF for a start,
rather than any of the fixed deposits.

Then fill in the required EPF form to direct your employer to
deduct an extra $ 500 from your salary every month.

If you are 30 now, you'll have over $ 400,000 by 55.

Ordering Phones From China and SIRIM Permit

For those of you who have ordered phones from China online,
like thru Ali Express, what are the chances of it being detained
by Customs or Sirim at the airport/post office due to the requirement
of applying for a Sirim certificate for it ?

I was thinking of getting a phone from Ali Express for my friend,
but hesitated when told that Sirim will require a permit or certificate
for it before being allowed into the country.

Guitar Exciter, a very versatile effect made in the 1980s.

It was used by this local Chinese guy in his solo here in the
last song of their final album.
