Some netizens questioned that the “loading” styles in various system apps are currently different. The MIUI official clarifies that MIUI 12 will optimize the display of blank pages and loading pages. There will be a new loading icon. In addition, MIUI12 will also unify the style of the status bar. Furthermore, the official said that MIUI’s font designer is optimizing the design of the numbers. Lastly, he categorically stated that MIUI 12 status bar font and system font will be unified. In January this year, Xiaomi announced that MIUI 12 was “officially set to sail”. Since that time, we have had a couple of speculations regarding this system.

POSSIBLE FEATURES OF THE XIAOMI MIUI 12 SYSTEM

System-wide dark mode

New Graphical user interface (GUI)

Latest Android version (Android 11)

16:9 ratio display better compatibility for application

Multiple clone app support

Dark mode support to all System application

LIST OF XIAOMI PHONES TO RECEIVE MIUI 12
According to adimorahblog, no less than 40 Xiaomi/Redmi phones will get this update. However, the report says that there’s no need to panic if your device didn’t make the list, as almost all Xiaomi phones will eventually get the update. See the list below

DIGITAL SERIES
Xiaomi MI 10 Pro

Xiaomi MI 10

MI 9

Xiaomi MI 9 SE

Xiaomi MI 9 Pro

MI 9 Lite

Xiaomi MI 8 Pro

Xiaomi MI 8

MI 8 Lite

CC SERIES
Xiaomi CC9 Pro/ Mi Note 10

Xiaomi CC9

CC9E/ Mi A3

XIAOMI MIX / MAX SERIES
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha

Mi Mix 3

Mi Mix 2s

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

Mi Max 2

POCO SERIES
POCO F1 and X2

‌
REDMI PHONES
Redmi K30

K20 Pro/ Mi 9T Pro

Redmi K20 / Mi 9T

Redmi Note 8 / Pro

Note 7 / Pro

Redmi Note 7S

Redmi 8 / 8A / 8T

Y1/ Redmi Note 5A/ Redmi Note 5A Prime

Redmi Y1 Lite

Redmi Y2/S2

Y3

Redmi Note 6 Pro/ Mi A2 Lite

Redmi 6 / Note 6

Note 5/ Note 5 Plus/ Note 5 Pro

Redmi 5 / 5A / 7 /7A

Redmi Note 4/ 4X

OTHERS
‌
Mi 5X

Mi Play

https://www.gizchina.com/2020/04/10/miui-12...be-unified/amp/

Luckily my cheap phone are in the list 😎

♪┌|∵|┘♪ └|∵|┐♪

岩谷尚文

Apple And Google Join Forces

Apple And Google Join Forces To Develop COVID-19 Contact Tracing Technology

You know things are getting serious when two long-time rivals and competitors unanimously decide on a truce and unite to a common cause. In this case, Apple and Google have agreed to stop baring their fangs at each other and instead take a more daunting enemy, the novel Coronavirus.

In order to do this, both tech giants will be launching a comprehensive solution that includes APIs and OS-level technology to assist in the manner which the virus has been confirmed to spreads rapidly: human contact. The technology will be made in two tiers: the first step will be executed in May, where both companies will release the relevant APIs available that enables interoperability between Android and iOS devices. Using apps from approved public health authorities.

Apple and Google announce a joint effort to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the virus, with user privacy central to the design.

Once said APIs are in place, Apple and Google will then work on building a wider Bluetooth-enabled contact tracing platform and functionality. Over the following months. Above all else, the two brands assure that privacy, transparency, and consent will always be a top priority, even while developing these parameters.

Speaking of which, both Apple and Google are effectively putting a call-to-arms to any and all developers and interested shareholders who are interested in toeing the line. And in being a part of a solution towards the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

On that note, both brands have released the technical documentation for Bluetooth and cryptography specifications and framework documentation for the contact tracing initiative, to which you can find here.

https://mobile.twitter.com/tim_cook/status/...g-technology%2F

https://www.lowyat.net/2020/210538/apple-an...ing-technology/

♪┌|∵|┘♪ └|∵|┐♪

岩谷尚文

Calling all Huawei fags.. apa cerita nii?

Huawei Lost US$60 Million In Mate Xs Sales Since February Launch

Huawei launched the Mate Xs, its 2nd generation foldable smartphone, earlier in February this year. Unfortunately for the Chinese brand, the phone has not generated the profit it had hoped for and is instead, being sold at a loss.

According to Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business, the Mate Xs has caused a loss between US$60 and US$70 million ( between US$258 million and US$301 million). Even despite the phone’s RM11111 price tag. Yu explains that one of the reasons for the loss is due to the phone’s high production cost, with the flexible display being one of the most expensive components for the phone.

While Yu doesn’t outrightly say it, it can also be reasoned that another reason behind the loss could be attributed to the lack of Google Mobile Services (GMS) on the Mate Xs. Much like the non-foldable Mate 30 series and recently launched P40 series smartphones, the Mate Xs is not allowed to ship out with Google apps pre-loaded, for reasons that are clearly obvious by now.

That isn’t the say that the Mate Xs isn’t worth a look. Specs-wise, the foldable device runs on Huawei’s powerful Kirin 990 5G SoC, has 8GB RAM, a 512GB internal storage capacity that is expandable via Huawei’s NM card, and a main triple-camera module that is identical to the phone used on the P30 Pro.

https://www.lowyat.net/2020/210452/huawei-l...ebruary-launch/

Extra reading (more butt hurting)
Sorry Huawei, the P40 Pro without Google apps is just too broken to live with

https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/04/09/so...-live-with/?amp

Apa cerita nii??
JPJ To Participate In Movement Control Order Roadb

JPJ To Participate In Movement Control Order Roadblocks Alongside Army and Police

During his daily COVID-19 media briefing for today, the Senior Defence Minister, Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that the Movement Control Order (MCO) roadblocks will soon be joined by officials from the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

When the first phase of MCO started back in 18 March, such roadblocks were originally managed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). Not long after that, the Malaysian Armed Forces personnel were also deployed to assist PDRM.

According to the latest statistics, Minister Sabri stated that 769 roadblocks have been set up throughout the country and they have performed inspections on 433,988 vehicles so far. In case you missed the news, the authorities have also started handing out RM 1,000 compounds to those that violate MCO since yesterday.

Even though the penalty is quite severe, Minister Sabri revealed that 95 of such compounds have been issued to date which is nothing short of astounding yet quite worrying at the same time. So, if you don’t have a good reason to go out, please just stay at home and don’t forget to also practice good hygiene in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 infections

https://www.lowyat.net/2020/210355/jpj-join...mco-roadblocks/

Jeng jeng... Do this looks like the MCO will be lifted??

¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯

岩谷尚文

Zoom Slapped With Lawsuit For Failing To Disclose

Zoom was recently served a class-action lawsuit by one of its shareholders. The lawsuit accuses the company of blowing its privacy standards out of proportion, and failing to disclose the fact that its program does not have the end-to-end encryption it said it did.

It’s the latter privacy flaw that has caused what can be described as unending issues, both for the company and its consumers. For example, many users have complained about “Zoombombing”, where someone unknown and not a part of the group would just crash their meetings.

Even worse is the fact that many videos conferences and meetings conducted on Zoom have been compromised, with thousands of video having already been uploaded online. On to sites such as YouTube and Vimeo.

Even tech giants such as Elon Musk have banned his company, SpaceX, and its employees from using the conferencing tool, citing the same privacy and security concerns. Even the Taiwanese government is reportedly telling its agencies not to use the app for similar reasons.

Unsurprisingly, these security issues have caused Zoom to lose approximately a third of their market value on the US stock market. While Eric Yuan, CEO of Zoom, has apologised to consumers for his company’s mistakes, it’s clear that a lot of work will still be needed to win back the trust.

https://www.lowyat.net/2020/210339/zoom-sla...ecurity-issues/

Nah... For those muppets who still using Zoom.. don't be surprised your video show up at YouTube..

♪┌|∵|┘♪ └|∵|┐♪

岩谷尚文

Huawei has announced yet another Apple clone: the Huawei Card

In the past, some of Huawei‘s products have appeared to be… heavily inspired by products from Apple. The MatePad Pro is an obvious example of this, with a similar magnetic charging mechanism for Huawei’s “M-Pencil”, while the company’s MateBook share certain design elements as Apple’s popular Macbook laptops. At the China launch for the P40 series, Huawei CEO Richard Yu announced the “Huawei Card”, which is essentially the Chinese company’s answer to the Apple Card.

Details are pretty scarce at the moment, but we do know that the Huawei Card will have physical and virtual versions, while data for the card will be stored in the same way as mobile payment data in Huawei’s smartphones. Additionally, the card supports NFC for contactless payments, with UnionPay backing the card.

Huawei’s credit card is also tied to Huawei Pay—just like the Apple Card is tied to Apple Pay. Unlike Apple’s credit card, however, Huawei’s card will have annual fees, although the company promises that the first such payment will be waived.

To further drive signups, card users who make a required amount of transactions will have the annual fee for the 2nd year waived, too. That’s in addition to various cashback offers and in-app promos for payments made with the card.

While Huawei has faced allegations over security and privacy concerns from some quarters, the company says that the same security protocols that are used in the company’s mobile devices will be extended to the Huawei Card and Huawei Pay.

That said, we aren’t sure when Huawei’s new credit card will reach the market. For some context, the Apple Card is not supported in Malaysia yet, with a full list of countries listed here. Huawei is probably going to start operations for its credit card in China first—and if things go well, we might see a wider release.

https://www.soyacincau.com/2020/04/09/huawe...ard-credit-skg/

Really la... Like to ciplak what ever Apple did 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

ಠ_ಠ

岩谷尚文

Meet your new controller for PS 5

Sony Officially Unveils DualSense Controller For The PS5

Here it is, everyone. Meet the DualSense, the official PlayStation 5 (PS5) controller in its full glory. And yes, Sony decided to not call it the DualShock 5 and that’s okay.

At a glimpse, the new controller’s silhouette does bear some resemblance to its predecessor, but with a more sleek and modern design overall. Colour-wise, Sony went with a two-toned design this time around, rather than the traditional single base colour.

The DualSense sports white as its primary colour, and black as its secondary – reminiscent of an orca or a panda, amusingly. Like its predecessors, hopefully we’ll get to see more colour options or themes after the PS5 is officially launched.

The controller features a familiar layout for its buttons and thumbsticks, specifically the DualShock 4’s. The few noticeable changes found on the DualSense include the blue light bars on the sides of the center touchpad, and an embossed PlayStation logo button underneath the built-in speaker. Oh, and the “Share” button is rebranded as “Create” now.

Besides its design, Sony reveals that the device will include a variety of new features and upgrades as well. Among these include new haptic feedback technology, adaptive trigger buttons for tactile sensation, and a rechargeable battery with USB-C support. The controller also features a built-in microphone, which enables players to easily chat with friends without the need of a headset.

Unfortunately, Sony did not discuss further regarding specific details such as its battery life, gyro controls, or unique features (if any). Without a doubt, we’ll certainly find out more about the DualSense once the PlayStation 5 is fully unveiled in the near future.

https://www.lowyat.net/2020/210184/sony-off...er-for-the-ps5/

ಠ_ಠ

岩谷尚文

After Sarawak, Sabah starts imposing petroleum sal

KOTA KINABALU, April 7 — Sabah has implemented a 5 per cent sales tax on petroleum products sold in its territory, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

He said he informed petroleum companies of the state’s decision to collect the tax last month and it should come into effect immediately.

“We’ve done it already, last month,” he said when asked what was Sabah’s plan to impose the tax.

This comes after the High Court ruled last month that Sabah and Sarawak have the right under the Federal Constitution to impose a sales tax on petroleum products.

Shafie told reporters that the state began planning to impose state sales tax and had discussed this with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad when they were negotiating for a higher oil royalty payment of 20 per cent as stated in the Pakatan Harapan manifesto.

“He told me to hang on for a while, as there were other constraints faced by the country and it would also affect Petronas at the same time,” said Shafie.

The PH administration collapsed at the end of February and was replaced by the informal Perikatan Nasional coalition as the government.

Shafie’s state administration backed Dr Mahathir in the power struggle and is now considered an Opposition state.

Shafie said he then discussed the sales tax with the oil companies and they indicated their acceptance.

“So long as we have spelled out our plans and given them early notice, they are okay. They don’t want short-term (measures) or U-turns. They need us to be clear for them to plan properly,” he said.

When asked whether the state has begun collecting the tax, Shafie said he “hopes so”.

Sabah and Sarawak moved to impose the state sales tax after the federal government’s reluctance to increase the oil royalty.

Sarawak began to impose the 5 per cent sales tax on its petroleum products since January last year under the state’s Sales Tax Ordinance 1998.

It also sued Petronas for unpaid state sales tax and penalties amounting to RM1.3 billion.

Earlier this month, Sabah’s Finance Ministry issued a letter to nine oil companies including Petronas informing them of the 5 per cent sales tax on petroleum and natural gas products with effect from April 1.

Under Section 10(1) of the State Sales Tax Enactment 1988, the petroleum companies were to obtain necessary licences to allow for the sales of the petroleum products. The petroleum companies faced an RM50,000 fine or jail up to three years or both if they failed to register.

Petronas had filed a court case to review Sarawak’s move to implement the sales tax but on March 13 earlier this year lost the case.

https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/202...les-tax/1854370

I can feel it coming in the air tonight...

(ﾉﾟ0ﾟ)ﾉ~

岩谷尚文

Thousands of netizens back cop who caned alleged M

KOTA KINABALU: Netizens all over Malaysia yesterday came together in solidarity to support a police officer who was videotaped caning several youths for allegedly violating Movement Control Order (MCO) in Kunak recently.

In a “challenge accepted” status posted on Facebook by thousands of Malaysians, they requested the PDRM to give the police officer a recognition for his strict action instead of taking disciplinary action against him.

Yesterday, Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Zaini Jass was reported as saying that disciplinary action would be taken against the particular officer although he had no intention of hurting the boys.

Zaini said the actions were not in line with the PDRM standard operating procedure and could bring a negative image to the police force.

The 27-second video went viral in social media on Thursday (April 2) showing a police officer canning the youths with what looked like a twig, after the boys laughed upon being told not to wander outside but to stay home during the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Many have also called on, but not to take action against the officer involved as they believed he was acting on parental instincts.

Zaini said the teens were not arrested despite being warned to go home a few times and were allowed to leave after the caning.

The teens continued to loiter, smoke and laugh when they were told a few times to leave and that was why the officer used a more drastic action to get them to listen.

“They (teens) were lucky the officer let them off only with a warning and not taken to the police lockup for more severe punishments for violating the MCO,” said Zaini.

Those who bash the police personal should get the twig too.. 😤😤

https://www.theborneopost.com/2020/04/05/th...-mco-violators/

岩谷尚文

Operation to bar entry of Indonesian tabligh membe

KOTA KINABALU: The Marine Operations Force (MOF) and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) are working together to tighten security along Sabah borders to prevent Indonesian tabligh members from entering the state.

MOF commander ACP Hj Mohamad Pajeri Ali said although none of the remaining Tabligh members currently in Indonesia had tried to enter the state through various sea routes, both security forces were working together to thwart unwanted intrusions.

“So far the situations along our water borders are under control but we are not taking any chances lightly.

“Both MOF and MMEA are working together in various sea patrols to ensure none of the Tabligh members will enter our state.

“The Malaysian National Security Council is in contact with the Indonesian government and they will inform us if any of the Tabligh members are attempting to enter Sabah.

“Both MOF and MMEA will then take the appropriate action,” he said after a joint meeting by the Marine Operation Force (MOF) and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) at the Kepayan police headquarters yesterday.

The meeting is strategic partnership to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, collaboration in operations and sea border security.

Pajeri said the collaboration was not only meant to prevent Tabligh members from entering the state but also to monitor and prevent any cross-border crimes from taking place.

Speaking further, Pajeri said about 450 officers and personnel from both agencies (350 from MOF and 100 from MMEA) with a total of 24 assets would be mobilised for the joint operation.

“The operation is also to ensure villagers from 52 islands around Sabah adhere to the Movement Control Order (MCO) as well as monitoring all 14 sea checkpoints in the state,” he said.

Meanwhile, MMEA deputy director of enforcement Muhammad Suffian Eldine Abdullah said the agency would fully cooperate with MOF by providing additional assets and manpower.

“This operation is like any normal sea patrol operations we have conducted. The only difference is that now we have to abide by the one meter distance rule, only checking suspicious individuals and minimise social interaction to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus,” said Suffian.

https://www.theborneopost.com/2020/04/01/op...abligh-members/

Good.. keep those people away.

(ﾉﾟ0ﾟ)ﾉ~

岩谷尚文
(Bernama pic)
PETALING JAYA: A local manufacturer has expressed disappointment with the new RM1.50 ceiling price for face masks, saying it will only benefit importers, not domestic producers.

Haminnuddin Hamid, chief executive of Ideal Healthcare Sdn Bhd, said local manufacturers were disadvantaged because of higher import duties and costs for raw materials compared to finished products.

He told FMT his company will cease its production of face masks once it has used up all its available materials.

“This is simply because it is difficult to get raw materials from overseas as the price keeps increasing,” he said.

Haminnuddin said the company’s current capacity is 18 million pieces a year, and Ideal Healthcare accounts for about 25% of Malaysia’s domestic production.

“We are one of the 5 major manufacturers listed in the domestic trade ministry list before the national shutdown,” he said. The other producers are Medidata Sdn Bhd, Creative Contract Sdn Bhd, Cross Protection Sdn Bhd, and Medipro Sdn Bhd.

On Feb 7, domestic trade minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said manufacturers had been asked to increase production by an extra 400,000 pieces a day.

Face masks are a price-controlled item and the price of 3-ply surgical masks had been set at 80 sen each prior to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Haminnuddin had previously told FMT that material costs for the production of face masks had gone up by more than 600%. He had defended an increase of the ceiling price to RM2, announced by the domestic trade ministry last week.

However, senior minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today that the price of face masks will be capped at RM1.50 apiece from April 1.

In response, a consumer group has urged that face masks be made an essential item, saying that the new price would prevent traders from taking advantage of the demand and increasing their prices.

ಠ_ಠ

岩谷尚文

Desperate father walks around city collecting edible food scraps

KUCHING: Amidst the enforcement of the nationwide movement control order (MCO), a father of four
braves the night to literally put food on the table for his family.

When met on Friday night, 40-year-old Mohd Isbuhani said he walks around Kuching city to collect some edible food scraps.

“I don’t go home if I don’t get anything,” he said bursting into tears.

During the day, he does
odd-jobs ranging from collecting rubbish, being a repairman for hire and a cobbler.

However, since the MCO was implemented, he is having a rough time earning some cash as no one approached him for his services.

“I may not have a steady income, but at least I make do. I wouldn’t even dare to ask for sedekah (donations) from other people as I don’t want to trouble them.

“I have also heard about the government offering aid to those who are less fortunate, but I can’t be dependent on the aid all the time.”

https://www.theborneopost.com/2020/03/29/de...le-food-scraps/
