how to use gps on phone

hi gais,
i just bought andriod phone,first time use
i on gps only, and then open waze it says no network connection found
then i open wifi it can run already

which mean if i outside i must to apply 3g and open gps setting at the same time to use waze?

before my processor was around 60c and that's too hot. the fan rpm was around 1400
so i added another fan and suck the air from outside into the case.

The rpm of the fan was dropped to 700-800 because the new fan blowing in the opposite direction
the temperature went down to 48-50 which is OK..

but then just now, i used the cooler master thermal compound kit on the processor, at the same time i clean up the fan.
then i switch on my comp again the temperature went up to 62 again without the second fan
the rpm of the 1st fan was around 1600-1900 this time
after i put the 2nd fan it dropped to 1400 and the temparature still around 52-55
whenever i start any game it goes up to 62-68, which is dangerous ><

anyone know y after i use the thermal compound kit, the temperature is going up ? ><
