Sungai Long Residential unwelcome Big Lorry Trucks

Hi all,

I have been quite curious whey there are so many unwelcomed big construction lorries and trucks vehicles passing by the main road (Jalan Sungai Long) in front of a peaceful residential area in Sungai Long day in and day out. The big vehicles cause a lot of bumps and vehicle noises .

This is freaking annoying and disturbing to the residents in front (esp. Jalan SL2/1) and affecting the kids, senior people and UTAR students.

Dear Forumers, do you know why there are so many lorries hogging on this road (as shown in the picture)?
Could it be from Persiaran SL2? Will this be temporary or it is permanent where it is the main access from SILK etc?

Importantly, what can we do to improve this terrible situation?

I have a landed house of SPA 800k, renovation 50k, loan size around 720k.

I am renting it out with rental covering the installment at approx (RM3.5k).

Assuming selling price is at 850k (SPA+reno) at the point of selling, roughly how long would I need to hold to achieve a profit of 20% (as the mortgage’s principal is reducing when tenant rental is covering the installment).

Calculation steps would be much appreciated.

Seeking your advice - Do you think I bought the wrong property? If yes, what should I do?

After staying in my landed property near UTAR for around 1 year, I realise there are many issues cropping up:

a) Many students are renting around the neighbourhood. They don’t take care of the house cleanliness like example the back drain, compound and roadside. Grass and plants are growing wildly at the back of their houses and they don’t care!

b) Air pollution - some students are smoking in a group, house near to roadside.

c) Students making noises especially at night.

d) Many tenants parking cars at the roadside.

I have just bought the house at around RM800k for one year and I have forked out money, not to say energy and money on

i) renovation (painting, curtains, basin changeout etc.): around 30k

ii) electrical appliances (lights , aircons , fan, fridge, washing machine) : around 22k

iii) furnitures (bed, tables): 20k

I buy the house with the idea for family from other location to stay. But I think it is not suitable Or I am thinking too much???

To be honest, I don’t feel happy staying in the house.

If you were me, what would you do?

Place to stay working in KL

I own a house in Sg Long, taking MRT to KL to work everyday approx 1.5 hours door to door, standing all the way in MRTto Muzium Negara. I feel like I am gonna die if I continue to do this kind of commuting.

Property Near to Main Road - Good & Bad

Dear All

What do you think about the property near to main road side? (Sungai Long SL2 along with Sungai Long Medical Centre / Shell)

I am contemplating a terrace house along a main trunk road in terms of below downsides. Apart from these are all good (red bricks, good rental, easy access to shop lots etc)

a) Noise
b) Dust
c) Air Quality? Exhaust from the road vehicles?

Will that be an issue to you and if really want to buy, how to resolve/minimise the concerns above?
