Technical Aspect Needed

I proposed to do a freelance job market site with social media (linkedIN/twitter) integration as my final year project to one of my university's lecturer. He said it's a great business proposal but it wouldn't make a great final year project as it lacks the technical aspect.

He said as a Computer Science student, I should have something more 'science/technical' to it. So here I am, asking for inputs if there is anything that can be done/change with my proposal. Any technical aspect or any useful features that can be added to solve problems that are faced in freelancing sites nowadays? Anything that you like me to build?
