Living room PC to recommend?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if an EEE Box/EEE Pc is sufficient to connect to 42" LCD TV - Full HD or do you recommend building an HTPC (recommended specs, pls)?

Or is there anything else which can save the headache and just buy off the shelf?

It's for my mom & dad. Here are the minimum requirements:

- For occasional internet surfing
- Watching downloaded movies/series/anime
- Preferably can watch HD stuff as well.

Hi ubuntu taikos out there,

Just installed ubuntu to my laptop (dual-boot XP & Ubuntu) a couple of days back & now I'm hooked to it - find myself logging in to Ubuntu more often than I do in XP. Don't think I'll need to boot into my XP anymore...lol

Anyway, I way underestimated the HD space & only have a measly 6GB assigned to ubuntu + 1GB swap space.

The following are my partitions:

XP
==
C:\ Windows XP - System files - NTFS - 20GB, 4GB free
D:\ Windows XP - Data files - NTFS - 50GB, 13GB free

Ubuntu
=====
1GB swap space
6GB for Ubuntu, 1GB free

Is there an easy way to expand this 6GB partition by taking another 3GB from D:\?

Hi guys,

Anyone use this for trading stocks in the US market?

1) How long it takes before you can start trading after you've delivered all the required documents (e.g. W8 form, salary statement, etc)?
2) Any problems in general? Pros/Cons.
3) Any other recommended brokerage?

Dear all taikos out here, are there any tax on profit from share investment in the US at realization and transfer of fund out of US?
