Cryptocurrencies have had an especially volatile past month, but an influential market analysis company is predicting gigantic gains in the coming months.

FSInsight, in a note to investors, said Bitcoin could hit $200,000 in the second half of 2022. That’s a 462% increase from the crypto’s price as of Monday morning. Ethereum is also set for potentially huge gains, said FSInsight, with a prediction of a price as high as $12,000 this year, a 385% premium to where it is trading now.

The report noted that cryptocurrencies are increasingly becoming connected to tech stocks. Sean Farrell, head of digital asset strategy, said this was due to the “legacy market capital entering the fold.”

Last year, the crypto industry saw venture capitalists invest $30 billion into tokens and blockchain companies. Major corporations also boosted their holdings significantly.

“This is much different from 2018 where tech stocks were still doing well but Bitcoin sold off along with the rest of the crypto market cap,” said Farrell.

To meet the $200,000 target, Bitcoin would need to attract another wave of investors, as it did last year—something Farrell says he sees a “reasonable chance” of happening. It would also require the market to rebound in the second half, but prices are already notably higher than the Jan. 24 low (though well short of its all-time high).

Meanwhile, growth in NFTs, Web3 applications, and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications has resulted in significant growth for the Ethereum network, which makes it “remarkably undervalued” says Farrell.

Bullish predictions on Bitcoin have been made before, of course, and the most optimistic have rarely proved accurate, but FSInsight and Farrell say they are still among the faithful, as long as the government doesn’t get in the way.

“All assets can sell off and drop another 50% if the Fed hikes 4% tomorrow or next month,” he said. “But right now, as things stand, the upside to both Bitcoin and ETH is much larger than the downside.”

The famous author of the best-selling book Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki, has warned that the Federal Reserve and the Treasury are destroying the U.S. dollar. Noting that they are sending billions of dollar savers and uninformed investors to “financial hell,” he advised, “Save gold, silver, and bitcoin.”

Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, tweeted this week that the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury Department are “destroying the dollar.”

Rich Dad Poor Dad is a 1997 book co-authored by Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. It has been on the New York Times Best Seller List for over six years. More than 32 million copies of the book have been sold in over 51 languages across more than 109 countries.

Kiyosaki wrote, “There are a million paths to financial heaven and a billion paths to financial hell,” adding:

Fed and Treasury [are] destroying the dollar sending billions of dollar savers and uninformed to financial hell. Go to financial heaven. Save gold, silver, and bitcoin.

This is not the first time the famous author has warned about the Fed and the Treasury hurting the economy and individual investors.

In December last year, Kiyosaki tweeted a warning that the Fed and U.S. President Joe Biden are “pushing fake inflation.” He predicted an imminent, massive crash that will be followed by a depression.

Pengerusi Perikatan Nasional itu berkata, Najib sepatutnya muhasabah diri, dan ada sedikit rasa malu kerana didapati bersalah di mahkamah.

JOHOR BAHRU: Ketika Johor bakal menghadapi Pilihan Raya Negeri (PRN) tidak lama lagi, perang mulut antara dua bekas Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dan Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, terus berlarutan.

Terbaharu, Muhyiddin, yang juga Ahli Parlimen Pagoh, mendakwa Najib, yang juga Ahli Parlimen Pekan, sebagai cuba memutarbelitkan fakta kerana menuduh Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) punca kegagalan Muafakat Nasional.

Dalam perkongsian terbaharu di Facebooknya, Pengerusi Perikatan Nasional itu berkata, Najib sepatutnya muhasabah diri, dan ada sedikit rasa malu kerana didapati bersalah di mahkamah.

“Saya fikir Datuk Seri Najib elok ambil masa muhasabah diri. Tak usahlah bermain politik jelik. Anda telah didapati bersalah oleh mahkamah atas satu kesalahan jenayah yang berat. Sepatutnya ada sedikit rasa malu.

“Dalam Islam, malu itu adalah sebahagian daripada iman. Tetapi malangnya dalam UMNO, seorang yang telah disabitkan dengan kesalahan jenayah yang disifatkan sebagai 'national embarrassment' oleh mahkamah diangkat sebagai boss dan dilaungkan slogan 'malu apa bossku',” kata Muhyiddin lagi.

Baru-baru ini Najib mendakwa tindakan Bersatu yang mengkhianati kerjasama politik dua parti itu sewaktu PRN Sabah, dengan meletakkan calon untuk melawan UMNO, adalah punca kegagalan Muafakat Nasional.

Namun Muhyiddin berkata, faktanya, tidak ada satupun kerusi di mana calon Bersatu melawan UMNO dalam PRN Sabah.
“Sebagai Presiden Bersatu dan Pengerusi PN, saya telah mempengerusikan beberapa mesyuarat yang dihadiri oleh pimpinan PN, BN dan PBS untuk menetapkan pembahagian kerusi bagi PRN Sabah.

“Saya telah menyatakan dengan jelas dalam mesyuarat-mesyuarat ini penting untuk PN, BN dan PBS mengelakkan pertembungan sesama sendiri dalam PRN Sabah.

“Saya juga pada waktu itu telah mengarahkan Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin sebagai Setiausaha Agung PN untuk membentuk jawatankuasa pembahagian kerusi antara parti-parti PN, BN dan PBS dengan satu arahan yang jelas bahawa semua parti mesti mengelakkan pertembungan sesama sendiri,” katanya lagi.

Jawatankuasa itu, kata Muhyiddin, telah memuktamadkan pembahagian kerusi antara parti masing-masing, namun beliau berkata BN sendiri yang tiba-tiba menambah kerusi, menyebabkan pertembungan dengan PN di beberapa kerusi DUN.

Melihat keadaan itu, Muhyiddin berkata, beliau sendiri pergi ke Kota Kinabalu sebelum hari penamaan calon untuk melakukan rundingan saat akhir bagi mengelakkan pertembungan sesama parti-parti PN, BN dan PBS.

“Malangnya, mesyuarat ini gagal mencapai kata sepakat kerana masing-masing bertegas untuk meletakkan calon di kerusi-kerusi yang ditandingi oleh parti-parti rakan yang lain.

“Jadi, saya tidak faham dengan tuduhan Datuk Seri Najib bahawa Bersatu mengkhianati UMNO dalam PRN Sabah dengan meletakkan calon menentang UMNO dan itu menjadi punca Muafakat Nasional gagal,” katanya lagi.

Mengulas mengenai jawatan Ketua Menteri yang akhirnya jatuh kepada wakil Bersatu, iaitu Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor pula, Muhyiddin berkata, keputusan itu diambil selepas UMNO sendiri tidak meletakkan calon pilihan mereka.

Katanya lagi, beliau telah meminta Pengerusi BN, yang juga Presiden UMNO Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi untuk menamakan calon mereka, tetapi tidak berbuat demikian.

Kerana itu Muhyiddin berkata, beliau menamakan Hajiji sebagai calon KM Sabah daripada PN sekiranya PN memenangi jumlah kerusi yang terbesar dalam kalangan parti-parti yang membentuk Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Dan akhirnya, tambahnya lagi, keputusan PRN menunjukkan PN mempunyai kerusi terbesar, iaitu 17, diikuti BN (14) dan PBS (7), menjadikan parti yang beliau pimpin tu memenangi kerusi terbanyak dalam kalangan Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

“Adakah saya khianat? Saya tidak khianat. Saya beritahu UMNO supaya menamakan calon. Sekiranya UMNO tiada calon, saya ada calon yang ingin diketengahkan. Saya bersikap telus dan berterus terang dengan UMNO.

“Datuk Seri Najib janganlah memutarbelitkan fakta. Apa yang berlaku dalam PRN Sabah bukanlah sebab Muafakat Nasional gagal,” tegasnya lagi.

Dalam pada itu, Muhyiddin berkata, Bersatu sudah melupakan niat untuk menyertai Muafakat Nasional.

“Bersatu telah buat keputusan untuk tidak menyertai Muafakat Nasional. UMNO pun telah buat keputusan dalam Perhimpunan Agungnya untuk tidak bekerjasama dengan Bersatu. Jadi apa lagi yang hendak diungkit?

“Ada hikmah Bersatu tidak bekerjasama dengan UMNO. Jadi Bersatu tidak terpalit dengan masalah moral yang membelenggu pemimpin UMNO.

“Secara peribadi saya malu untuk dikaitkan dengan parti yang masih mengangkat seorang yang telah didapati bersalah oleh mahkamah atas satu kesalahan jenayah berat sebagai boss,” tegasnya lagi.

Why is Umno silent on Azam Baki if it is fighting for reforms, asks Kit Siang

Lim Kit Siang said Malaysia was in danger of becoming the ‘Venezuela of Asean’ due to its inability to fight corruption.
PETALING JAYA: DAP’s Lim Kit Siang wants to know why Umno, which claims to be championing reforms, is silent on top graft buster Azam Baki’s share ownership issue.

Lim referred to Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin’s remarks that the Barisan Nasional party was now reform-driven and that reforms “are no longer the domain of opposition parties alone”.

In a statement today, Lim also asked why Umno leaders had nothing to say about the country’s drop in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index for the past two years.

“What is the position of the Umno ‘court cluster’ and ‘ministers cluster’ on Azam? How can it be fighting for reforms when it is so silent on ‘Azam-gate’?”

Khaled, who is a former Johor menteri besar, said the reform agenda was no longer a battle cry for the opposition as Umno had become a party pushing for progressive ideas.

Lim also questioned Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi’s comment that it would be better for the party to go it alone than to be with Perikatan Nasional because the coalition lacked political integrity.

“What do the Umno, Bersatu and PAS leaders mean by ‘political integrity’?

“Let Umno leaders elaborate on their reform agenda on corruption before Indonesia and China overtake Malaysia in TI’s Corruption Perceptions Index by 2025 and Malaysia rushes head-on to become the Venezuela of Asean,” he said.
