I use it for simple office work, browsing and downloading. I just need some advice on how to do some upgrade/tweaking to maintain/prolong its use. Here are the specs:<br /><br />compaq presario 5BW433<br />celeron 800mhz<br />20Gb HDD (maxtor)<br />RAM: 2 x 128mb sdram (upgradable to 512)<br />using winXP<br /><br />I tried to upgrade the ram but it won&#39;t accept any of the locally available ram such as kingston or apacer. I was thinking of buying the ram online from memoryx which produces compatible ram for my desktop model, but contacted HP/Compaq techy and they say that it&#39;s not worth it to even upgrade the ram anymore. Is that true? <br /><br />Is there anything else that i can do for the pc? like maybe change the processor/get additional HDD/etc? I am not a computer geek, so really appreciate any advice and also info of where i can get the stuff that i need to buy.<br /><br />I just want to maximise the use of this desktop for whatever it&#39;s worth. Then maybe use it as a server should i get a new desktop later.
