SATA Port 5-6 works.

Picture:

Reason for sale: One fine day, PC and Sata SSD won't boot. Tried all the ports, but only Port 5-6 works.
Had to buy new motherboard since need 3 ports, so someone who needs a cheap H170 board but don't mind just 2 SATA ports can get this increasingly rare motherboard. Will boot from NVMe drive just fine (found out while troubleshooting), so its something?

Also if COD, I will give this BitFenrix Neos case for free too to sweeten the deal. New motherboard won't fit in it, so the casing also is surplus to requirements.

AMOLED Screen Problem

I just got this Galaxy S+ phone two days ago. Yesterday, the phone's screen suddenly has this thin red line going the length of the screen. The thing is the problem comes and goes by itself.

So I dunno if i can just go to Samsung Malaysia without being able to replicate the problem on demand. Should I just go there and settle it anyhow or do I wait for the line to come back then go to the Service Center?

Kaspersky downloading itself

I was stopping all my downloads to sleep for the night, but then i found out from my network meter that my PC is still downloaded something.
I checked all the self update suspects, AV, google chrome, win update but when i hit resource meter, i see that Kaspersky is the one doing the downloading.
Opened the program and saw that it was not downloading new updates at all.

So I wonder now, am I alone or are there people out there with the problem?

About job opportunities while waiting for Masters

For the last 7 months from my graduation, I have been in and out of 3 crappy jobs during this period. After quitting as a Borders supervisor, I have decided to pursue my masters.
Then when I thought I got lucky, i ended up in a con-man china man company instead. If I am planning to part ways from this con-man, this means I still have 6-8 months to wait till I can
pursue my masters in Urban Planning in UTM on September (damm you Higher Ed. Minister)

The question is now, what sort of non sales or retail work that I could do for the mean time with some experience in Linux installation and setup?

PSU Troubles?

I have this machine where it runs fine with an old CM Real Power 550W PSU. Then I bought this newer Seasonic X650 PSU from zhen^wei's company to replace it because the old one was making occasional buzzing noises. I plugged in the new PSU into the system and all the system can do is boot up with nothing on the screen, then restarting the whole process again in less than 30 seconds until i killed the power. Sometimes when I use the reset button, the mobo beeps can go between bad memory or bad power.

Then I put back the old PSU, the system came to life normally, thus enabling me to write this question. I have sent the PSU back to the company and they said the PSU runs fine for an hour or so.

So my question is what should I do now. Getting it back without any solution would mean the problem cannot be solved and I probably won't get back a refund because they claimed it works.

My Specs

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (no oc)
GB EP35-DS3 mobo
4X1GB DDR 800 Kingston RAM
CoolerMaster Real Power 550W
CM690 case
WD Caviar Black 1TB X1
Spinpoint F1 1TB X1
6 Fans (5 120mm, 1 80mm)
Zotac GTS250 1GB
Creative Xfi Titanium PCI-E card
D-Link PCI NIC
some compro TV card

Another question would be if the graphics card gave a connector for a 2x6pin to 8pin PCI-E power converter, do I have to use it as the previous owner said to use it even if you have a 8pin connector on your PSU already. Is it true?

Thanks for reading this rather lengthy post, but I hope there is sufficient details for me to find the light at the end of the tunnel.

Electrical Buzzing Noise from PSU, sometimes

I have been hearing this electrical buzzing noise coming from the PSU. It's not that loud, but it can be heard above the background noise when the PC is on.
The noise comes on for about 2-3 minutes and then goes away, only to return at another random time sometime later.
I don't know if i should return RMA my PSU or do something about something else.

PC is connected to a APC ES500 UPS and to a Cal-Lab isolator connected to the mains.

Thanks for any help in advance though.
