Skype 64 Bit

If you take a look at skype download page

http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/linux/choose/

You'll notice that there's now 64 bit version for Ubuntu 8.10 ( ). Can anyone please test and see if it's real 64 bit binary or it's just a wrapper to pull in 32bit libraries..

Weird RAM problem

My laptop has 2x 2GB Corsair DDR2 667 Value RAM. They have RAM Chip from the same manufacturer, but they are not perfectly identical cuz one of them is asynchronous and another one is synchronous and both of them have different chip size.

They works fine in Dual Channel mode for about half a year until this morning when my laptop will refuse to post after a soft reboot. I unplugged all power source and waited for ~15 min and then it'll boot fine again. I called HP and they say the RAM might be faulty.

So i replace back the original 2x 512 MB RAM before the upgrade. Then problem disappear. I proceed to test each of the Corsair RAM but couldn't find any problem (Ran Memtest 86). And then I reinsert both the Corsair RAM but the problem does not appear again.

The laptop's motherboard was replaced twice last month. Both time were due to the famous "No display during power on" problem. I'm pretty confident that it was due to the faulty nVidia chip. But could there be the slightest chance that it is related too the RAM?

Anyway if it is really RAM related, are there any 4GB Kit for Laptop RAM?

Thank you.

4GB Dual Channel Laptop Memory

Hi, I have recently bought a Corsair 2GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM to upgrade my existing 1GB (2x512MB) RAM. Now my laptop is running with the 2GB stick + one 512MB stick in Single Channel Mode.

My question is, is it worth to buy another 2GB of the same RAM to enable dual-channel? Any significant performance gain? Thank you in advance for any helps..
