Looking for Aquarium with Arowana (Penang)

Dear sifus,

Who amongst you in Penang have the most beautiful Arowana of em all? I am looking for a house/apartment with a sizable and prominent aquarium with an Arowana (preferably a Golden Arowana) for a short film shoot. If you have the following we are listening:

- A home which shows that the owner has worked hard to achieve this dream home for his partner. The aquarium and Arowana are the icing on the cake.
- The interior location will feature as the home for the 2 main characters.
- The shoot will be a short one (will be done within a day, just needed shots of the fish).
- Excerpt from the script:

QUOTE

Tracking back shot of ANNA marveling at the interior of the house. The GOLDEN AROWANA, swimming gracefully in a costly planted aquarium catches her glance.

I'm willing to pay a good fee just for shots of the Arowana so if you are the one, please P.M or call me. This is urgent. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

Kit
012-697 8309
petfishproject@yahoo.com

Which is the Best Place 2 Study Filmmaking?

Dear friends,

Anyone here studying filmmaking/cinematography/theatre? As per my question above, which is the best place in Malaysia that teaches hands-on-approach filmmaking? Is LimKokWing, Segi or Aswara any good? What about courses in Singapore? I'm looking for something that emphasizes more on the vocational and technical side of filmmaking itself over theoretical studies...and preferably on the affordable side as well. Care to advise? Thanks.

[WTR] House/Apartment with an Aquarium

Dear friends,

Who amongst you have the most beautiful aquarium of em all? I am looking for a house/apartment with a sizable and prominent aquarium with a fish (preferably in the living room) for a student short film project. If you have the following home or if you are attached to a developer and have a show house for rent, we are listening:

- Clean and modern home which shows that the owner has worked hard to achieve this dream home for his partner. The aquarium is the icing on the cake.
- The interior location will feature as the home for the 2 main characters.
- The shoot will be a short one (can be done within a day).
- Excerpt from the script:

QUOTE

Tracking back shot of NAOMI marveling at the interior of the house. The [FISH] swimming gracefully in a costly planted aquarium catches her glance.

We shall be forking out a nominal fee but if you are willing to help out a fellow lowyat buddie for free, which you should be because your gorgeous home and fish tank is going to be immortalized in this film, than good for you!

Do drop me a call or sms/mail:

012-6978309 (Kit)
petfishproject@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Alien Fish (carnivor peacock bass, zebra cichlid)

Dear friends,

I came across these predator fishes, reportedly causing a threat to our local toman, haruan, sebarau and udang galah according to the New Straits Times (Monday, October 6, 2008). Question is does anybody know where to find them? Are they for sale in any pet stores?

It doesn't have to be the peacock bass or zebra cichlid but any other species that are considered a danger to our waters will also do. I'm looking for them for my student documentary project. Thanks.

Malaysian HVD Series

Dear members,

Just would like to ask if anybody has been following the HVD series at Jia Yu Channel Astro 304? I've rewatched the recently concluded Dictator series after trying to locate it for quite some time (first watched it back in the 90's when I was a kid) and what memories it brought!

Any fans knows what happened to the actors today? Particularly the guy who brilliantly portrayed the power-crazed patriarch Kan Tong Loi? Or his son/son-in-law played by the same guy? And the wheelchair-bound maniac of a daughter? Can't seem to find anything with them these days.

And if I'm right HVD wrapped up during the 97 economic recession, however the next series at Jia Yu looks very much like a HVD production with a familiar actress from the HVD stable (only looking older now) and a few local exteriors (Petronas Twin Towers).

Also did the guy who played the doctor committed suicide in real life due to financial problems? Sadly Malaysian Cantonese series has the potential to go far if not for the financial crisis.
