Gov should remove face mask mandate to KL & SELANG

Since the majority of people that live in Klang & Selangor are fully vaccinated, it's time for the government to remove the face mask mandate to these 2 states.
Let the people have the freedom of not wearing a face mask when they are in public areas.

But when they want to enter the private premises, the private premises/businesses can impose their own rules before the customer can enter. It's been 2 years since we are required wearing face mask, government should remove the face mask mandate.

Many people that wearing a face mask in public is not because they fear Covid-19, but worried they can get saman by the police.

It's time for us to stop feeding ourselves with fear with Covid-19 and move on with the brand new normal.

Edited: If you want to keep continuing wearing the face mask, just continue with it. But people should be given a choice on to continue or not to continue wearing the face mask in PUBLIC AREAS. We have the statistics mentioning most KV people are fully vaccinated.

We should be grateful for our local banks' generosity.

If we open a saving account in Malaysia, we are not being imposed with account maintenance fees every month and if we want to waive the fees, we have to maintain a certain amount of money.

In US, if you use Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, all of these "rakyat" banks are imposing monthly maintenance fees every month to their checking account. They need to keep the money to avoid charges.

And many of them are still can't get the basic access of bank account due to living condition (poor, etc).

Muslim mentality when it comes to funeral process

Since most of the Malay in this country are muslim, sometimes I just don't understand with some of the mentalities among Malay people when it comes to funeral process.

Example I want to give is, you are from Kedah, and you have live in Selangor for 30-40 years of life. But when you die, the family members so insistent to bury the body at their Hometown at Kedah due to arwah request before die.

Why this kind of request become a culture among Malay people mostly? The only thing that god concern is your amal ibadah when you live in this earth, not where's your body being buried.

You see the example of Ustaz Haron Din. He died in US. Dia dikebumikan di US. I dont see his family members so insist to bring back his body to Malaysia.

Why Car/Motorcycle Workshops still cannot open in

Why car/motorcycle workshops still cannot open in PKPD area?

They are considered ESSENTIAL compared to other things. People travel to work every single day especially those that work in "ESSENTIAL SECTORS".

Accidents / Car Broke down happened every single day to people out there. Last 2-3 days I saw 1 accident1 and some cars broke down in PKPD area.

I still don't understand why the government still haven't reviewed again the list of sectors that should be open in PKPD area.

Which bank do you have a bad experience with & hate to use it?

I personally hate using RHB and CIMB Banks.

Some of the reason is their unfriendly online banking and clueless customer service.

For other banks, I like to use Maybank, but when it comes to calling their call centre hotline, it's really frustrating that you need to wait so long before the call centre agent pickup the call

How about you guys?

People rush to buy Ivermectin N ignore gov advice

Indonesians ignore warnings, rush to buy Ivermectin to treat Covid

JAKARTA: Indonesians have ignored health warnings to stock up on a “miracle cure” for Covid-19 backed by leading politicians and social media influencers, as an out-of-control virus surge sweeps the country.

Authorities are reporting hundreds of deaths every day as the world’s fourth-most populous nation struggles with its worst outbreak since the pandemic began.

Pharmacies across the country are running out of Ivermectin, an oral treatment normally used to treat lice and other parasitic infections, thanks in part to viral social media posts touting its potential as a coronavirus treatment.

“Those who come bring a screenshot showing that Ivermectin… could cure Covid,” said Yoyon, head of a pharmaceutical sales group at a market in the capital Jakarta, who like many Indonesians goes by one name.

He said the shortage had pushed the price of the drug up from around 175,000 to 300,000 rupiah (RM50-86) a bottle. “We are out of supplies at the moment after many people came to buy it,” he added.

Enthusiastic praise from popular online personalities is helping drive demand.

“Ivermectin is one of the safe and effective keys to ending the pandemic from various doctors, with lots of scientific evidence,” Reza Gunawan, a self-described “holistic health professional”, wrote to his 350,000 Twitter followers.

Iman Sjafei, the cofounder of popular Indonesian media outlet Asumsi, used the same platform to say five of his acquaintances had recovered from Covid after taking the drug.

“Maybe placebo. Maybe. But it might be true too,” he added.

Sylvie Bernadi, who lives on Jakarta’s outskirts, said she purchased Ivermectin for infected relatives after seeing WhatsApp messages and social media posts promoting the drug.

“Many people are saying that it can cure Covid-19 so I bought it,” the 66-year-old said, while conceding some had raised concerns about unspecified side effects.

Fuelled by anti-vaccine and pandemic conspiracy theories online, there has been a surge in demand for the drug from Brazil to South Africa to Lebanon.

But manufacturer Merck has said there was “no scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against Covid-19” and warned of possible safety issues if the drug is administered inappropriately.

Scientists, the World Health Organization, and several drug regulators — including Indonesia’s own — have also stressed there is a lack of credible evidence to show it works against Covid-19.

‘I’m not a doctor, but …’

That has not stopped Indonesian tycoon and government minister Erick Thohir from praising Ivermectin and urging domestic production to fight the current outbreak.

A former owner of Italian football champions Inter Milan and a shareholder of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball franchise, Thohir recently suggested that state-owned drug giant Indofarma could produce up to four million ivermectin tablets a month.

While he said more testing is required to ascertain its effectiveness against Covid-19 and urged users to get a prescription before taking the tablets, others have shown less caution.

“I’m not a doctor, but in the midst of desperation and difficulty, I think anything is worth a try,” said Susi Pudjiastuti, a popular former fisheries minister, who has 2.5 million followers on Twitter.

Facebook posts and articles touting the drug’s effectiveness against coronavirus have proliferated in several countries.

Efforts to tackle the virus worldwide have been marred by conspiracy theories, often propagated by political leaders and other public figures.

In the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte has pressured regulators to approve the drug as a Covid treatment.

“There are a lot of credible people… who swear by their fathers’ grave that ivermectin is doing good to their bodies while they are suffering from Covid,” Duterte recently told the chief of the country’s drug regulator.

After demand for the drug surged in Latin America, the WHO said in March that any use of the drug as a coronavirus treatment should be limited to clinical trials.

The US Food and Drug Administration has even warned of the risks of taking ivermectin following reports of people being hospitalised after ingesting a version of the drug meant for horses.

https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...to-treat-covid/

If government announced moratorium for home installment, personal loan and other loans by bank, government also should enforce RENT moratorium.

That means, tenant don't need to pay rent money to landlord. Applicable for people that renting room, house or shoplot. Landlord cannot simply evict tenants out from the property

Have you met people that prefer using Cash?

I have an ex-neighbour that has the mentality of paying for everything using cash. He's not that old actually, still in 40's but every single thing he prefers to pay using Cash.

Some of the examples are electrical, water, Astro, Unifi, telco bills, he will pay using cash at Post Office, 7 Eleven or 99 Speedmart that offer service of bill payment. Same goes with buying foods, clothes, or groceries, he will pay by cash most of the time.

It's not that he didn't know how to use the computer or using the Internet, but he seems to prefer to pay using this kind of payment method. And FYI, he's working in an office environment setting.

Have you met this kind of person before this? What do you think?
We cannot blame this kind of person with a dinosaur mentality.

Why is it so hard for the government to allow interstate travel?

It's been 6 months since we have been stuck in 1 state and cannot go for interstate travel.

You can't expect people that want to travel to another state for holiday only, there are many things that people need to do in terms of family, work and many more.
