Hi, would like to know any method to dynamic casting a decimal variable length inside store procedure or udf?

currently i am doing like this

but MSSQL not allow me to do that...

today my friend present his fyp to the lecturer. And the lecturer ask him why dun put the system into faculty server, and if using the localhost as server how to that web service is "web service" ...

well, is not my turn to present but i also did webservice (partial function only) in my project and i put it into seperate application.
so i got application A and Application B(Webservices), i consume the funtion from Application B which host in the localhost as same as Application A.
Is This Can Proove i am using web services?

Hi All Sifus...Senior, And my Fellow belover forumer...

i graduate soon, and stil not yet to decide the path to go in Java Or .Net. Also dun know wat is the "standard salary" for freash graduate.

My cousin told me that get in SAP, will sure rich. But when i browse on Jobs street/ db, all SAP position require more than 2 years exp... some more SAP programme look so dull, like the programmes b4 year2k...

I do know c#, java, (both similiar la....)
When interview on java company, they said got own framework, work there will use their framework to develope or enhance. Sound like they just wanna hire [Productive] employee but not [innovatice] employee... ( i believe tat they just wanna work as getting thing done only...)

c# / .net that offer salary low , cant survive at kl...

is there any advise for f/g to look for job as IT developer?
or go to MIS line is better? IT sales?

Maximize Search Function's Query

Hi, would like to know how u guys work on a searching function?

what i did is very basic,

Select * from table where desc like ('@input%')

the query is limited, not good....

And what i do on next is make the input string split into array for input like "JAPANESE ANIMATION NATURO"
split into 3 string, and build up the string into this

Select * from table where desc like ('JAPANESE%') or desc like ('ANIMATION%') or desc like ('NATURO%')

any the result return is not so good because most of them are not relevant (return Japanese, or Animation ).

Now my idea is to make the input string have more valueable like split into :
array[0] = "JAPANESE ANIMATION NATURO";
array[1] = "JAPANESE ANIMATION";
array[2] = "ANIMATION NATURO";

and return the result order by the those rows which match array[0] (match 3 words).
is that i need perform multiple SELECT statement and combine result into 1 resultSet/DataSet, or i can make it at 1 SELECT ?
If multiple SELECT i afraid the performance would slow if the user enter many keywords.

any 1 know how to do?

or any got better idea on searching can share?

paiseh, not sure the thing i ask exist or not.

i would like to know is there any possible that the communication through browser is possible?
the senario is, i got 2 users, A & B both sitting infront them browser.

then on the same forum, A Saw the name of B appear as Online, then can he invite him to join a game ?
when A click on B name, A should be open a popup browser to waiting ppl join game...

the question is,
how do i invoke B that telling he is invited?
can through server session ? querystring?

Hi, I have a question about databinding on the tree view menu. is about sql
currently i have 2 table, a parent table and a child table which i bind to a tree view.
so the result is something like below :

-Parent1
-- Child_1
-- Child_2
-- Child_3
-Parent2
--Child_4
--Chlld_5

now i would like to combine the parent table and child table together due to some issues.
how should i select the sql statement to bind the tree menu?

Hi, I facing some problem on detail view on representing my database design. My detail view data is a query from jonning 2 tables, since the 2nd table may contain multiple row result of the product, i dun know what component to use in aspx. (detailview, repeater, normal html table etc)

my table strcuture as below :

Hi I would have some question on the data binded drop down list.
i would like to make a 2 drop down list are dependable on each other, like when i select ddl1 is country, then the ddl2 will refresh about the state inside tat country. i hope the page will no refresh (Ajax?)

the data i want to bind on the drop downlist had to select from database by query ( i dun know how to generate xml from query)

I got 1 question to ask, how to design a clothing product table on a cloth company?

the shirt got different color, different size.
beside shirt, there still got other product that like hat, belt.pants.

original my plan is do all category of cloth on 1 table...
with 3 primary key that is cloth code, size, and color.
let say 1 shirt have 5 colors and 3 size (s,m,l ) , that would be 15 lines of product for 1 design...

but i found some problem here.

if that product is not shirt ? how to put in desc? ihow to identift the shirt is pair with pants (football jersey) ?

is that better i put different category product diff table ? then how i put the desc?
