Hi /k,

I have 2 questions for those who do a lot of online order from overseas.

A) If i buy a jacket from Ebay that is less than RM500 including shipping, and sometimes i realise they send using POS Malaysia or i'm unsure which express they use, will i get taxed? And if kena the 10% tax, how does it work? Is it kena tahan at Kastam and i need to go to KLIA to clear and pickup? Or POS Malaysia come to my house and make me pay the 10% and give me the item?

B) If i ask my personal friend in USA to send the item (1 pair of designer jeans), remove all the price tag/etc, and send to my house, maybe put some 'Happy Birthday bro' message, will it kena tahan at Kastam? Or is it depends on my luck maybe won't kena tahan?

how to define being 'grateful'?

The hardcore politicians and a lot of people say the non-bumi's need to be 'grateful' for being given citizenship. Seen these kind of comments in some forums, some telegram chats and some blogposts.

Is it forever? Or xx amount of years? Or forever 'grateful' even 10 more generations in the future?

My question is how long do non-bumi's need to be 'grateful'?

Is it the same like the white caucasians need to be grateful to the indigenous Indians in America or the caucasians need to be grateful to the Maori's in New Zealand or the Taiwanese Chinese need to be grateful to the aboriginal indigenous natives?

Any other case study in other countries where non-original citizens need to be reminded to be 'bersyukur' because they were given citizenship decades ago?

And how do we 'bersyukur' to the British and other Commonwealth countries who helped team up with us during the Japanese occupation? Should we continue to 'bersyukur' to them because if it were not for them, we'd be eating Sushi for breakfast today?

After viewing so many EV burning videos, don't care LiON, LPF, NMC, sodium lah type of batteries, i think i'm done for now.
Emailed the booking team, if burn the RM1k, i'm fine lah. Decided to buy ICE Lexus instead.

Then went to shopping mall, pusing almost 20 mins at Midvalley fight for parking slot, SUDDENLY found one.. then turn in to the slot thinking FINALLY got space to park, see see my left is Tesla, my right is BYD parked.

Past 4 months, i supported KFC/Starbucks/McD

Not kidding, spoke to some workers at KFC / Starbucks / McD in the past 4 months, they're all very disappointed with everything that's happening.

So basically i've been helping to frequent these places to help the workers.

I try to eat KFC at least twice a week, same for McD twice a week and Starbucks at least 3x a week. I mean i put on about 3kg in past 4 months but nevermind la. I usually only patronize KFC like once a month, McD like once every 2 months and Starbucks like once every 3 months.. but this time it's different, needed to do my part as a human being.

Been doing this consistently by doing my part to ensure their jobs are kept...however i'm sure my part alone isn't enough, at least i'm trying.

I've also told my close friends, colleagues and family members to do the same.. basically will help spread the word to help them out.

But good thing is, over the past month, i've noticed quite handful of Malay customers coming back to KFC/McD and Starbucks... for instance, today, while eating KFC for dinner at the mall, i noticed at least 12 Malay customers making orders at the self kiosk.

Good to know they've started to realize that it's just plain ridiculous to be peer pressured into something they didn't want to partake in the first place.

What about you all? How have you helped the workers?

Eat in front of Muslim or don't?

You know during Puasa time, a lot of Muslims who fast will book / sit on the table in restaurants before breaking their fast.

As a non-Muslim, when you are in the same restaurant as those who fast, should we

1) Show respect/sympathy/empathy by waiting before they break their fast?

or

2) Just eat away?

You know lah... scared later if I eat, end up on social media saying this non-oren so insensitive.

I'm worried about that.

What do you think is the right thing to do? Maybe just don't go to Halal restaurants during the fasting month?

My experience with EV finally came

... as a pedestrian, I somewhat knew that SOMEDAY.... SOMEDAY.. this would happen.

We are so used to hearing revving engines or engine sounds as a pedestrian while on the roadside or kerb. And today, I got my first experience being knocked by an EV.

No line of sight as I walked around a van and then came this EV on my left that knocked into me which caused me and teh-o and breakfast to fall on the road. I caught a glimpse this gen Z punk was driving with one hand on his mobile as well a split second before the hit. Luckily he wasn't driving fast.

That together with the fact that EV's are so silent... bammmmmm.... Instead of being apologetic, as I got up, he wound down his window and the first thing he asked me was why I didn't 'watch the road'. I pointed at his face and asked him to 'WATCH YOUR FUCKING MOUTH'. He sped off before I could confront him.

Silence is dangerous. It is hard for pedestrians and people with hearing difficulties especially older people.... and ESPECIALLY when we are so used to hearing engine sounds on the road.

And I feel that EV drivers should be made aware of that whenever they drive with or without a mobile in their hands.

And yes, I know I should look left before walking out of a non-line of sight tall vehicle.

And you'd think his EV has some kind of collision detection but mehh...

You decide to open a school to teach students the Tamil laguage. And you post an advertisement to seek teachers that states "Tamil speakers wanted only" vs "For Indians only". Is this being racist or is it discrimination? Which would be better?

Scenario B
You decide to open a travel agency but you are looking for a candidate that ONLY focuses and targets the China and Taiwan inbound market. And you post an advertisement stating "Mandarin speakers only". Is this post racist or discriminatory in nature? If a different post shows "For Chinese only" because YOUR assumption is mainly Chinese will be able to speak Mandarin. Is this 2nd part being racist, discriminatory or was it wrongly worded?

Scenario C
You are a monk and you decide to open a Zen Relaxation And Enlightenment Park. And it says at the entrance, "For those who practice Buddhism only". Is this racism or discrimination?

Scenario D
You decide to rent out your apartment. And in the advertisement, it shows, "For Muslims only", ONLY because you were brought up by your parents in a very religious environment whereby somehow or rather, you worry that the place will be used for say gambling sessions and alcohol drinking sessions with your friends, which to be fair is somewhat 'unclean' by your religion and you worry about the reprecussions in the afterlife. I was writing a quick technical tutorial documentation and these 4 words were 'COMMENTED' by these 2 strawberry Gen-Z girls who are juniors in my company.

As much as i would like to ask them to GTFO or STFU, i thought about it for a few minutes, and yes, i do kinda agree that these terms need to be changed to 'suit' this new generation.

So please help me think of words to replace it with (in the context of email filtering and programming / hard drive)

1) BLACKLIST ---> Change to..?
