service cancellation and refund

Hi all,

I recently bought a 10-session package at a beauty salon and made a 50% payment at my first visit when I utilised the first session.

However I will be relocating soon and I will not be able to go in anymore to utilise the remaining unused sessions. Therefore I requested a refund from the salon and i got the standard response from them indicating that a "no refund and no cancellation" policy is buried in the fine print of their T&Cs.

However, I read that no refund policies for future services are illegal according to the Consumer Protection Act.
https://asklegal.my/p/no-refund-policy-illegal-malaysian-law

The salon claimed that i have violated the service agreement that was initially agreed upon and demanded the remaining 50% of the payment. They will only allow the unused services to be refunded via a replacement for other products or services only after I have paid the entire package in full. In a way, I am forced to spend the contracted amount be it in the form of services or products.

I refused to pay the remaining 50% as I have already overpaid and know that I will not be going in anymore. I am also not interested in buying or trying their products.

So, they asked me to send in a legal letter to them by all means and even blocked me on social medias.

Has anyone successfully gotten a refund from any of these salons with the help of Tribunal Council or KPDNHEP?? Kindly share your experiences and advices here. Thank you very much in advance.
