Music - The Sound of Our Souls

Contrary to the topic title, I’m not exactly a hardcore music person. My sister, on the other hand, is, to the fullest sense of the word, a MUSIC person. In the shower you’ll hear her playing her songs using her cell phone, when she’s working on her laptop, her headset will be plugged to her ears, without a doubt listening to her favorite music or play list once again. But this piece of writing isn’t about my sister; neither is it about me not being a hardcore music person, this is about how much music means to us – humans, whether we know it or not. And I know it because this is how I feel 

Every once in a while, the radio in my car would pick a song that reaches deep into my heart, grasping it with so much sensation that the feeling of nostalgia, gratefulness, happy-and-glad-to-be-alive and simple mood-lifting kind of experience. I’m not a psychologist, nor am I a person that studies deep into the influence of music on human life. But I know this, I love the songs that I listen to while growing up. I was born in the year 1987, growing up for me meant the time during the early to mid 90’s. These were the years which music was first introduced to me. Naturally, I fell in love with artists with famous hits in that specific era. Songs by Whitney Houston, Boyz 2 Men, All 4 One, Paula Abdul, Air Supply, Michael Learns To Rock, Michael Jackson, Richard Marx, and so, so many more.

When listening back to these songs – all-time favorites – my childhood memory comes flooding back, glimpse of memory about having to wake up at 6.15am in the morning so my mom can drop me off to school while she goes on to work. My mum uses those radio-activating-device-alarm clocks. Every morning I’ll wake up to light and easy fm, in the shower, these songs will continue to play, when I’m out and buttoning my uniform, the melody carries on. The funny thing is, I never knew how to enjoy it back then. I never even took much notice to the kind of music or the artistes, I just listened on without biasness, and much to my surprise, they grew to be my favorite songs until today, without me ever knowing why.

I’m just sharing this because I believe there are and will be many others out there just like me. I need to know, please share too, if you are experiencing this. I want to know about those elder than me, those of you in your 30’s maybe, do you reminisce about songs from the 80’s or maybe 70’s? Do you feel nostalgic when listening to these familiar-child-hood melodies? Are they still your favorite songs until now?

Thanks for reading my babbling, I just wanted to express my feelings 
As the topic title suggests, I've a question on distant learning. I need someone who has done it before to shed some light for me

How has it worked for you? I've read articles about them, found out some useful information but I still think I ought to hear out first-hand, from those who have done it.

Other details I would like to know:

Assigments, Test/Exams... etc.

Thanks in advance!

Declan is also distracted by an undeniable attraction to Cajun local Lena Simone, who grew up on the bayou with her grandmother Odette and has her own deep connection to the manor. Living in the house, Declan begins to have visions from a century past and details of events that took place in the mansion.
GOALS - Sorted according to Player

Guys and girls.. This topic is for 100% satisfaction entertainment purpose. Goals, goals, goals and more goals..

We are not here to unite against each other, we are here to unite as one. The first love that got us into supporting clubs in the first place - GOALS!!

Requirement:

Because the purpose of this thread is to ENTERTAIN, everyone who leaves a reply must leave a video (On youtube or w/e) full of goals. I think it's best to keep the categories to players yeah? Easier for us and reduces reposting.

Lemme start first, I love Harry Kewell.. Supported him and supported Leeds Utd (League 1 now, but heck, we're here for the goals)

You can continue with other players of course, make sure no repost yeah, LET'S ENTERTAIN THE FOOTBALL LOUNGE!!

A tribute to Dennis Bergkamp

Brilliant player. Notice his composure even a few yards in front of the goal post. Takes his sweet time (almost everytime), picks his spot, completes the goals like he's alone by himself. Salute!

Evaluation:

First goal (VS Newcastle) - Knows where the keeper expects the ball, slides it to the far post where it is least obvious.

Second goal (VS grey shirts) - Sees the opening between the defender and keeper with the far post corner in his sights, sends the ball in.

Third goal (VS bright yellow) - Balls rolling towards him, justifies enough momentum for a good 'chip', reconfirms the space between the defender in front of him and the him, lobs it just enough to keep the keeper on ground - until its too late.

Fourth goal (VS blue yellow strips) - While dribbling, options open out. Sees the two more defenders standing in place, knows he can shoot, hits the target.

Fifth goal (VS Tottenham I think) - Controls the ball and maintains his balance, knows the keeper will expect him to go for the far post, he tucks it right towards the keeper. The keeper is stunned, hence the ball went past him right above his shoulders.

(Setting up the goal) - cant tell this one, prolly sees the player coming towards him from the other side, keeps the ball in possession to buy time then sets it up.

(VS Liverpool - or is it Tottenham again?) Side swing his foot all the way to push the ball full force front, no curls, no spins, just straight ahead. It didn't make much difference at such distance with such space.

(VS white shirts with blue tummy) A little gap on the right side of goal post, the only spot he can pick at the moment, hits the target with enough down curl so the ball will stay on the lower mid air without going over.

(The header) nothing much to say, right place at the right time, floats in the air and connects with the ball to see results.

(Ajax VS RKC) Must've spotted the keeper getting greedy and coming forward, tight space to lob the ball, but did so with a great technique 'chip'.

(Ajax VS Vitnesse) Sensed the keeper, lobs it, timing was right when the keeper has committed his footwork, no chance for the keeper to back down or jump even.

(VS RKC) on the right side of the field, spins back and moving towards the left, all 3 defenders and keeper are expecting him to go for far post (look at their body positions) but he goes for the near one instead, tighter spot but unexpected and thus GOAL.

(VS white shirts) went past the first defender, space on the right - too obvious he must have thought, quickly tucks it far post (ball went past few inches from the other defender's foot) and scores. Keeper obviously furious with the defender.

(VS Leceister City) Got the ball. The nearest defender is not close enough. Takes a quick look - he's done it before - going to do it again, far post enough space for the ball to do a up-down curl into the corner. Scores.

(VS blue shirts) - Tries to 'chip' the ball past the keeper, just enough because the ball glided past the keeper. Lucky or plain skill? Debatable.

(VS blue shirts again) - Knows the only spot to score is far post (because his footwork position only allows that shot at that split second) decided to go for a mid-air far post since keeper was squatting too much to the left. Right on.

(VS southampton or sunderland) Keeper was in the right position, but the distance between his back and the far post was significant enough for a far post semi-lob shot. Shooting past the defender's back was smart too.

(VS Argentina) Critical moment, no foul ups, calm calm calm... In the six yard box, not much space for a low ball, too risky anyways. Strike it into the air, full force was needed to ensure the ball was fast enough - with that distance, direction made no difference, only had to be quick enough.

Start Your Own (Small) Business

Not looking for ideas, Not looking for investors, LOOKING FOR BUSINESS ENTHUSIASTS!!

To start.. erm...

Okay, I know its a cliche but many times (i bet) you've heard of Robert Kiyosaki's favorite example of a good business system - McDonald's.

For those who don't know, it goes a little like this: 'Every successful business has an effective system, from both operating and marketing perspectives.' Robert then goes on to mention that there are practically more people who can make better and more delicious burgers than McDonald's. However, the reason why a standard Big Mac or McChicken can sell well is because of the business system. So hence, a good business requires a good system.

This is true however it has been regarded as overrated as time and time again MLM companies use this idea to persuade the potential 'agent's or 'members' to notice their MLM scheme system that could generate huge amounts of income.

Once again, this may be true. You could earn an attractive income (passive or active, it depends) by utilizing their system. They call it a win-win situation. I call it a 'WIN more - win less' situation. Whereby the company themselves (You are selling their product) WIN MORE but you win less.

Then from this, I realize that to develop a business system, it takes lots of time and effort (These we could spare) BUT also lots of money to fund the business long enough to find the most suitable system for use (This is what most of us can't afford).

So if you want to adopt a system, you have to sell somebody else's product. Well not exactly, tell you later, read on.

Let's look at the digital economy (or virtual economy) or whatever you wanna call it. It simply means the online economy - Global, No boundaries, No limits to your market <<-- This we all know but they forget to mention -->> EXTREMELY competitive. Coz your customers are worldwide, so are your competitor.

From the digital economy, we look at e-malls or e-stores. Just like the physical world, we prefer to stick with whatever places that are hot and popular. You may prefer to go to Subang Parade instead of Summit USJ, Sunway Pyramid instead of Subang Parade, 1 Utama instead of Sunway Pyramid, The Curve instead of 1 Utama... and so on so forth.. That's the way traffic operates, that's the way sellers 'upgrade' their businesses. And these people prefer to go to bigger places because bigger means more things to look at! Same goes for online business. More things to look at, more traffic.

So if you were to start your own online business, you will definitely look for a suitable place where people will visit (well of course ) Same thing goes, ebay.com.my sux a lil bit (in my opinion) and lelong or lowyat seems to be the best local places to shop online. So sellers would love to place themselves there.

You could also build your own website, blogs - but this will be the equivalent of building a shopping complex to fight 1 Utama, Midvalley, etc. (Your website VS the lelong.com.my website) pretty far fetch for small players.

So back to my solution. You need a system, you need a place. The rest is up to you.

I've found a system (interesting as it keeps the buying/selling activity moving as robustly as possible) and I've found the place (It's starting already - less than 6 M'sian sellers so quick be one of the firsts!)

So the system is there, the place is there, you sell your products (not somebody else's) - no 'win more - win less' situation.

Interested contact me. Also you can raise questions in this thread.

Please also discuss why do you think who gets more on profit margin.

I think many people will believe that Original DVD vendors earn more... Is that really the case? On the contrary, pirated dvd peddlers with fewer profit margins earn higher overall profits because they sell more? Is that also the case?

Thanks for reading!
