It's hard to know the severity of each MCO by the abbreviation.

Rather than confusing people by asking them "which is worse? CMCO?MCO?PMCO?", let's just categorize MCO by numbering, eg :

MCO Level 1 = Basic SOP like mask, scanning of my sejahtera
MCO Level 2 = Level 1 SOP, but including limitation on social gathering
MCO Level 3 = Level 2 SOP, but now including limitation of travelling etc.

I'm not a big fan of Moo Moo backdoor but at the same time I cringe everytime people say money give outs is a form of Vote Buying. I mean personally I believe majority of the people needs some form of assistance to get by this Covid 19 crisis.

But some that say this is vote buying or a populist move to secure voters and I say back, isn't this the essence of democracy? To please the voters?

If voters demand that child marriage or marrying 10 partners should be legal, then democracy will ensure the wish of the voters can be fulfilled.

So stop bitching when a leader is trying to please its voters, because that's what will get them elected.

Let's say you're the Minister of Health. 15 minutes before your press conference you get a report that there's 1000+ cases for today, a big spike from the previous day 200+. You know announcing such a figure will cause the next wave of panic. You don't know if this is a trending line of just a one off spike due to the back log pending test result all decided to come in today.

In such situation is it acceptable to underreport the figure and park the remaining balance to the next day statistic in favor of not causing civil unrest.?

If you wonder why today's Democratically elected leaders are shit, you only need to look at the people who put them in power. Compare that to a CEO or a successful company. CEOs only need to worry about the company's performance. CEO doesn't need to worry about his Head of Department overthrowing him or worry about making tough choices in fear of employees dishing them.

This is why China is so successful today. They do not fear making unpopular decisions because face it, majority of voters today aren't smart enough to run the country.

Startup is no longer cool to join

When people describe their company is a startup 3 to 5 years back, that term used to carry an inspiration meaning. It used to mean a visionary company willing to think outside the box and explore new ideas.

Now if I see a new start up comes, all I think is :

1) Can they pay their suppliers on time?
2) How do they actually make their money?
3) Will they underperform and use the excuse "we're a startup" everytime they fail
4) How many laws and non compliance has they breach?

90% of startup fail...no matter how big or small your funding is because at the end of the day, knowledge matters.

If people truly believes prison is to rehabilitate then people won't be asking for your criminal record dy. In fact once a criminal has serve his sentence his criminal record should be wiped off to show that the prison system did rehabilitate him.

Attending open house is suppose to a straight forward fair. I see your open house timing and I see if I can make it based on my own timing and schedule. If it clash means sorry la I usually pick the one more convenient for me to go to.

However attending open house of some colleagues this year seems to be some kind of office political affair. The influence or popularity of a colleague is judged by how many of their colleague will be attending their open house and how many big shots will be attending as well.

I miss the time where the only thing we worry about festival open house is how much food we eating...
