It seems no problem if we ask question to stranger in Chinese for beginner.

How to go here? (怎麽去這裏？）
How much? （多少？)

But big problem when we ask question to our friends in daily conversation. Position of every words are hard to guess.

When we meet Jessica? (什麽時間-我們-見-Jessica？）
How we do it without her? (怎樣-我們-做-她-沒有？）
Are you serious about that? (是-你-認真的-關於-那個？）

My solution, is to answer the question first:

We meet Jessica (at when). (我們見Jessica什麽時間?)
We do it (like how) without her. (我們怎樣做沒有她？）
You (are) serious about that. （你是認真的關於那個？）

Then, rotate the conjunction.

(At when) we meet Jessica? (什麽時間我們見Jessica?)
Without her, we do it (like how). (沒有她, 我們怎樣做？）
About that, you (are) serious. (關於那個, 你是認真的？)

Chinese "是” not necessary is "is"

Many of my friends who just learned Chinese always made this mistake.

I am apple. (我是蘋果。）
I am appealing. （我是有魅力。)
I am going to appeal. （我是去申訴。）

Chinese "是” only is "is" when the subject upon is noun. In above case, only the first example is correct.
"is" when the subject upon is adjective or phrase have no representative meaning in Chinese. Hence just remove "是".

I am appealing. （我有魅力。)
I am going to appeal. （我去申訴。）
