CheckboxList in EDIT PAGE(vb .net)

hi there, i start to learn asp.net in Vb recently. but i have some problem in doing the checkboxlist. I have sucess to insert the selected value from the checkboxlist into the database. but now i facing issues in retrieving the selected checkbox value in the EDIT page.

i have two table,table A is store the jobType, tbl B is store the multiple jobtype for each user

TBL A
--------
JobTypeID
JobTypeName

TBL B
--------
UserID
JobTypeID

i have no idea on how to retrieve it in EDIT page? what i plan is
1st : drag the checkboxlist control into a form View, then RETRIEVE all the jobtype from the TBL A
2nd : erm....i dont know how to retireve that user selected job type from table B and the checkboxlist will "CHECKED" if the value is in the DB.

plz guide or share to me on writing the backend code in VB. hope to hear from u all soon.

hi all, i would like to have some opinion about the symphony heights condo which located beside the batu caves round about...in between batu caves and selayang, near the MRR2 roadside..do any one have bought a unit at there?
is it worth to buy it? It will build up with 900 + units, will there be crowded later? the location at there is stractegic? plz share me some idea...tq

hi there, i m the newbie in asp.net. it is totally different frm the asp language that i can manage it. i try to use the Validator Callout Extender from the asp.net ajax site. i have no idea on how to change the popup validator CSS.
can some expert guide me more? guide me steps by steps. i have do some research on the google. but i still not understand how it works. plz help..thank you.

chinese chraset utf 8 and gb2312

I am using ASP to connect to the MYSQL Database. the charset in the database is set to GB2312.

my task is.i have to connect to two diff type of DB, MS SQL and Mysql . one us current DB record and another one is new DB( MS SQL). in my MS SQL i store the record with UTF 8. now i got some problem when doing a searching. i will do a two connection path , two query, in the same file. and then combine the recordset. but my file charset is UTF 8 . after doing the searching in MYSQL, it show me the records like tis below:

Search from MY SQL AND MS SQL at the same time?

hi all, i got a project that have existing database which is using the MySQL. but now this project need to do a new version and MS SQL is used as database for the new version. so the old data is remain store in the my sql but the new data will store into the new DB(MS SQL). i got a problem here, do u think when i do the searching function, it can search the old data from the MY SQL DB, and the new data from the MS SQL DB at the same time? who can share with me about this knowledge? thank you very much.

hi all, i would like to ask some question about the SQL query. i m using the MS SQL 2005 with asp language.

i wan to query out a set of records which the date is in between tis week. that mean, if the records date is in the date between tis sunday until end of the week(saturday) it will display out. and the next week will display the new record set that the date is within that week.

do anyone know the solution? plz give me a hand. thank you.

hmm...i got some question need to ask u all. let said.i upload the content from the TEXT file. after i upload the content into the DB, when i query out, the display will automatically have space between the paragraphs.

hi all, i have one SQL query that need some solutions. i cant think out a good solutions.

my condition is:

i first wan to query the top 1 record from a table A.
after that, i need to query another top 5 records from the same table A but exclude the top 1 that have oeldi query out and display.

do u understand my condition?

How to stop comment spam?

hie there, i would like to ask ..... how to avoid the spammer to insert the spam word in my project comment form?

i have try to use the Javascript validation to avoid the users to insert the comments with the LINK (<a href>) and JS code(<script language=...)
but the spammer still can spam my database.

i really duno how to stop tis spamming..
plz give some idea or solution...thank you

hie there.... can i ask some sugeestion or opinion form u all? i have do some research that...some blog web application can let the users to import thier existing blog post from other blog application to the new blog applicaiton, like from blog A import to blog B.... do u think it can do with ASP? i found that , it seem like only can do with php... can some one with this experince can tell me more ? i m waiting for u all good news...thank you.

problem in displaying unicode with ajax(get method

hie....

my question is that i have to let the user to input chinese characters from the text box through ajax request and then save in database.
when i trying to save the data into database, it save all the chinese characters in a series of question marks(??????). this thing is happen when i use GET method in my ajax request.

after few attempt, i try to use POST method in the ajax request and it seem can save the chinese characters. but.....now the problem is....when i type in "午安GOOD AFTERNOON" tis two words, it trim my space between this two words and save the 午安 (GOODAFTERNOON) (without space) into database. chinese or english characters also same..(i didnt put in any triming space code)

can anyone tell me that what is this problem and how to solve it? plz help.

helo there....i got some problem about the URL rewrite to ask all the programmers expert....especailly asp programmers..

do u all know about URL rewrite which can rewrite the url to another format so that become more secure?

for example, my url is www.abc.com/web/viewrec.asp?id=12

after the reqrite process it will display www.abc.com/web/viewrec/id/12 someitng like tis format..?

do u all have any experience? i have do somre research on it..but i failed to do the setup from the component i have downloaded..

multiple email validation in diff format

hello..i got some problem aout the email validation..
i got a text box, the user can search the email from the address book and then it will display the email address in tis way :
alice[alice@yahoo.com]. users also can type in thier prefer email like john@yahoo.com.

so, what i want to ask is, how can i validation the email in the text box which combine the format like below:

alice[alice@yahoo.com],jay[jay@gmail.com],meg@hotmail.com,john@yahoo.com

can u all guide me more? thank you.
