How to Use the Office App for Windows

The Office app provides users with a simple experience that helps them get to what they need quickly – whether that’s an app, a document, or even a person in your organization. We released the app as a preview to Windows Insiders in December 2018 and have heard lots of great feedback from people who have found it to be a helpful way to get started with Office. We are thrilled to now make it available for free to anyone using a current version of Windows 10, whether at work, at school, or at home.

You can use the Office app with almost any version of Office – even the free version of Office Online. The experience will look familiar to anyone who has used Office.com with users finding quick access to all their Office apps and documents. However, we’ve made the experience even better by bringing it to an app form. Now you can get to the Office desktop apps if installed on your device in addition to the web apps on Office Online, access files stored on your local device in addition to OneDrive and SharePoint, and use it while working offline.

How to Download the New Office App
If you already had the My Office app installed on your Windows 10 devices, then you only need to update it from the Microsoft Store to get the latest version of the app. If you never had the Office app, then you can follow a few simple steps to get it installed.

Launch the Microsoft Store app.

Search for "Office."

Locate the Office app and select Install.

Once you the app installs, select Launch to start using the new Office app.

Before jumping into details on how to use the new Office app, it is important to understand the similarities of the previous My Office app and the new Office app.

SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE OFFICE APP AND MY OFFICE APP
They're available to download for free in the Microsoft Store.
They grant you an overview of your Office 365 account, as well as access to your subscriptions, payments, and billing information.
They have Quick links to your documents.
They have a section for Programs so you can launch any of the office apps.

The new app will roll out to people over the next few weeks and then automatically install as an update to the old My Office app, But beware, as an installation glitch is currently affecting some users. Even though the store page points to the new app, downloading the app installs the old My Office version rather than the new version.
As usual, the glitch seems to vary by machine. I was able to install the new version on one of my Windows 10 computers. But the old version keeps getting installed on two of my other computers. Other people who commented in Microsoft's blog post have reported a similar problem. A Microsoft spokesperson said the company is aware of the bug and is working to resolve it.

That said, Logic Pro X brings some incredibly awesome features into the fold that make it an amazing audio editing app for both beginning editors, and professional users. Logic Pro X comes with all the basic features you’ll ever need in an audio editor, and also brings extremely advanced features including the ability to automatically match the timing of different tracks in a project using ‘Smart Tempo.’

ocenaudio: ocenaudio is a free single-track editor for making destructive edits to audio files. It's a capable all-arounder with a clean and minimal interface that sets it apart from the comparatively cluttered Audacity. Add markers to your files, make edits to specific channels, and manipulate the metadata before exporting your recording. In addition to the basic trimming and clipboard operations, ocenaudio also includes a number of effects and support for VST plugins (and AU plugins on a Mac). These include simple noise reduction operations, filters, a 31-band equalizer, plus time and pitch adjustment.

Reaper: Reaper is yet another audio editing software that’s incredibly powerful and feature-rich while also being comparatively more affordable than some of the other options on this list. For starters, Reaper comes with support for multiple tracks and has remarkable multichannel support with 64 channels in each track. It also brings the ability to directly record audio to mono, stereo, or even multichannel audio files, along with the ability to record to multiple disks at the same time for data redundancy if that’s something you want.

1. Rhythmbox: Rhythmbox is the default music player in Ubuntu, and as such merits a place in this list. Widely used, Rhythmbox is a reliable, dependable, and extensible GTK music player that uses the Gstreamer backend. The standard layout of the app is straightforward to navigate, and it’s easy to filter through your music using the column browser or the search box. The app lets you do more than just play, manage and sort music and create playlists. It can scrobble to Last.fm, and it has built-in support for podcasts and internet radio stations. The player also boasts integration with online music service SoundCloud. Rhythmbox is a free and open-source audio player that plays and helps organize digital audio files. Rhythmbox is designed to work well under the GNOME desktop using the GStreamer media framework, however, it can function on desktop environments other than GNOME.

2. CMUS: This music player will appeal to every Linux user who loves CLI(Command Line Interface). CMUS is a music player that is based on command line interface & is undoubtedly the best CLI music player out there. & since it uses CLI, it is very light in memory use (around 4-6 mb in our case) & makes a good choice for Low-end systems. It is pretty simple to use & you can control it via commands entered through the keyboard. It supports all the audio formats you can throw at it & also boasts a series of good features like play queue, gapless music, playlists filter & also supports music streaming. It’s not the most perfect feature as — big, big warning so please take notice it can totally screw up your track metadata without so much as a prompt or a whistle. But, even for free account users, you get access to a much bigger array of music than that you (likely) have locally. Plus the Linux app is decent enough, integrates well into the Ubuntu desktop (yep, sound menu support is present) and so on. Spotify Technology S.A. is a Swedish media-services provider founded in 2006. The company's primary business is its audio streaming platform that provides DRM-protected music and podcasts from record labels and media companies.
