Hi, I'm currently interested with the award given by Majlis Rekabentuk Malaysia (Malaysia Design Council) and looking if anyone here experience in participating this award.

The award is basically given to companies in Malaysia with reputable product design but so far not many people aware of this even when it was started at the end of the 90's.

Looking forward for those whom involve in receiving this award.

Help: Maxis isn't using my Weekend Internet Data

Hi, as per title I realize that Maxis didn't use my Weekend Internet Data instead use my Weekday Internet DataPool. Asking if anyone experience this? Its not fair as I need them data later.

This is my usage for Data Pool today (5.6 GB)

Where my weekend data usage is same, this is before (1.8 GB)

Parents urged to safeguard children against paedophiles on social media

PETALING JAYA: With paedophiles widely reported to be using the Internet, women groups are asking parents to monitor their children’s social media interaction regularly to ensure that they are safe from predators.

Voice of Children president Sharmila Sekaran said parents should ensure they were up to speed with the technology so they could spot potential dangers.

“You may think that a paedophile looks suspicious, but the fact is that most paedophiles have an outward appearance resembling a friendly neighbour.

“Also, if your child is giving personal information to an online person unknown to you, make sure to look into it,” she said.

Sharmila said parents should be alert when there is little information about their children’s “online friends”, as paedophiles do not reveal their true nature on social media.

Paedophiles also tend to use acronyms to communicate inappropriate requests so that most adults will not be able to spot these when going through the messages.

CNN had published a list of such acronyms for parents to look out for, which includes terms like GNOC (get naked on camera) and CU46 (see you for sex).

Women’s Aid Organisation communication officer Kristine Yap said:

“Parents should be aware of their children’s social media activities, but they must monitor respectfully and always be vigilant for signs of unfamiliar interaction.

“At the end of the day, what you need is for your child to recognise signs of a potential predator and for the child to feel able to come to you for help,” she said.

Hi /k,

I'm going to renew my road tax and I need advise on these options:

1. I check online if renew by MyEG need to add 6 bucks for delivery and if want to self collect, need to go KPMG building. In which if calculate cost of driving and parking, will be equal to 6 bucks

2. Go pos office free parking, but waste time for waiting

Other than that, I can't go JPJ coz there is no JPJ branch nearby.

Increased attacks on Malaysian websites detected

PETALING JAYA: There has been an increase in web defacement activities targetting Malaysian websites, says the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

It said in a statement that the number of defaced websites had increased from 168 cases for the whole of August to 262 cases recorded in the first week of September alone.

"Malaysian website owners are urged to update and secure their website applications and servers to the latest patches and service packs.

"This is to fix various vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers to compromise their websites," it said here on Wednesday.

MCMC also advised website owners to allocate adequate measures to monitor their websites for the upcoming long holidays when most people would be away for the Hari Raya celebrations, possibly leaving most websites unmonitored for a long period of time.

It said last year, similar heightened web defacement activities were also detected during the long Hari Raya holidays.

MCMC said it would continue to monitor the situation through its Network Security Centre, which is a cyber security monitoring centre initiated by the commission in line with the National Cyber Security Policy.
