Next Door Neighbor Making Guard House Illigally?

Good morning all,

I have a bungalow house in the gated and guarded community. But the next door neighbor is building a their own guard house on the fence between us. (See the photo & drawing) They are also making a toilet inside adjacent fence also. So in worst case scenario, they will make a toilet window towards our house.

The next door owner didn't ask us for permission or anything.

Is this legal? What measures should we take?

(We did no renovation.)
Should I pay 9-month rent when I move out?

Hi all,

My parents have one year rental contract. And the rental apartment has wi-fi cable problems. The UniFi technician had to come to fix internet problems 5 times during last three months. So my parents want to move out. But the real estate agent said if we move out now we have to pay 9 months rent because it is 12 month (1 year) contract.

We had to move out before maturity of rental contract a few times in the past with no problem. We never heard this
full contract duration rental payment thing. What is this?

Thanks in advance.

Dishwasher Installation RM200 This Morning!

Hi all,

This morning a plumber came and installed a dishwasher with his water splitter. Then he requested RM200 in cash.

Yesterday at 3PM, my real estate agent recommended him saying he is a "good" plumber. So I didn't ask for quote.

I wanted to use my dishwasher from today, so I just paid RM200 and informed the cost to the realtor.

So the best practice is:

1. Ask for quotation no matter who recommended the tech, no matter how simple the service is.
2. When too high fee is suggested after inspection at arrival, refuse the service. (my house is a bit remote though.)

right?

from a new home owner

Does IKEA Employ Only Bumiputera? No Chinese?

Hi all,

Recently I visited at a local IKEA quite often and talked to many employees there. And all of them are bumiputera. Come to think of it, all employers at front end (face-to-face with customers) of Starbucks, McDonald's, and KFC in Malaysia are bumiputera.

If an international retail or food company want to launch their business in Malaysia, does it have to employ only bumiputera? I see non-retail/food compay such as Citibank have Chinese Malay employees.

Thanks in advance.
