That is cutting loose.And I guess Emperor can be seen as a person who is ambitious enough to go for what they want in order to be a more empowered person. Chinese authorities have made a preliminary determination of a novel (or new) coronavirus, identified in a hospitalized person with pneumonia in Wuhan. Chinese investigators conducted gene sequencing of the virus, using an isolate from one positive patient sample. Preliminary identification of a novel virus in a short period of time is a notable achievement and demonstrates China’s increased capacity to manage new outbreaks.

Initial information about the cases of pneumonia in Wuhan provided by Chinese authorities last week – including the occupation, location and symptom profile of the people affected – pointed to a coronavirus (CoV) as a possible pathogen causing this cluster. Chinese authorities subsequently reported that laboratory tests ruled out SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, influenza, avian influenza, adenovirus and other common respiratory pathogens.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses with some causing less-severe disease, such as the common cold, and others more severe disease such as MERS and SARS. Some transmit easily from person to person, while others do not. According to Chinese authorities, the virus in question can cause severe illness in some patients and does not transmit readily between people.

Globally, novel coronaviruses emerge periodically in different areas, including SARS in 2002 and MERS in 2012. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans. As surveillance improves more coronaviruses are likely to be identified.

China has strong public health capacities and resources to respond and manage respiratory disease outbreaks. In addition to treating the patients in care and isolating new cases as they may be identified, public health officials remain focused on continued contact tracing, conducting environmental assessments at the seafood market, and investigations to identify the pathogen causing the outbreak.

In the coming weeks, more comprehensive information is required to understand the current status and epidemiology of the outbreak, and the clinical picture. Further investigations are also required to determine the source, modes of transmission, extent of infection and countermeasures implemented. WHO continues to monitor the situation closely and, together with its partners, is ready to provide technical support to China to investigate and respond to this outbreak.

The preliminary determination of a novel virus will assist authorities in other countries to conduct disease detection and response. Over the past week, people with symptoms of pneumonia and reported travel history to Wuhan have been identified at international airports.

WHO does not recommend any specific measures for travellers. WHO advises against the application of any travel or trade restrictions on China based on the information currently available. ————————————

Disease associated with a Novel Infectious Agent

Causative agent

“Severe Respiratory Disease associated with a Novel Infectious Agent” refers to the cluster of viral pneumonia cases occurring in Wuhan, Hubei Province, since December 2019. According to investigation by the Mainland health authorities, respiratory pathogens including influenza viruses, avian influenza viruses, adenovirus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus have been ruled out.

The relevant Mainland laboratory has detected a novel coronavirus and obtained the whole genome sequence of the virus. The Mainland's expert group revealed that molecular testing of some cases were positive for the novel coronavirus, and the virus was also isolated from a sample of a case. Under electron microscopy, the virus showed the typical appearance of coronavirus. Further testing of samples is ongoing to assist in confirmation of the pathogen.

Clinical features :

According to information provided by the Mainland health authorities, symptoms of the cases include fever, malaise, dry cough and shortness of breath. Some cases were in serious condition. People of older age or having underlying disease are at a higher risk of deterioration into serious condition.

Mode of transmission and incubation period:

The mode of transmission and incubation period remain unknown. According to the risk assessment of the World Health Organization (WHO), the reported link of this cluster of pneumonia to a wholesale fish and live animal market could indicate an exposure link to animals. The Mainland's investigations have not identified any infection among healthcare workers. According to WHO, there is evidence of limited human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus while there is currently no clear evidence of sustained human-to-human transmission.

Management:

There is no information on the treatment of this disease at this stage.

Prevention:

There is no vaccine for this infectious disease at the moment.

Health advice:

To prevent pneumonia and respiratory tract infection, members of the public should always maintain good personal and environmental hygiene. They are advised to:

Perform hand hygiene frequently, especially before touching the mouth, nose or eyes; after touching public installations such as handrails or door knobs; or when hands are contaminated by respiratory secretions after coughing or sneezing;
Maintain drainage pipes properly and regularly (about once a week) pour about half a liter of water into each drain outlet (U-traps) to ensure environmental hygiene;
Wash hands with liquid soap and water, and rub for at least 20 seconds. Then rinse with water and dry with a disposable paper towel. If hand washing facilities are not available, or when hands are not visibly soiled, performing hand hygiene with 70 to 80% alcohol-based handrub is an effective alternative;
Cover your mouth and nose with tissue paper when sneezing or coughing. Dispose of soiled tissues into a lidded rubbish bin, then wash hands thoroughly; and
When having respiratory symptoms, wear a surgical mask, refrain from work or attending class at school, avoid going to crowded places and seek medical advice promptly.
Travel advice

The public should take heed of the health advice below when travelling outside Hong Kong:

Avoid close contact with persons with fever or respiratory symptoms in countries/areas with possible transmission of novel coronavirus infection. If it is unavoidable to come into contact with them, put on a surgical mask and continue to do so until 14 days after returning to Hong Kong;
Avoid visiting hospitals. If it is necessary to visit a hospital, put on a surgical mask and observe strict personal and hand hygiene;
Avoid touching animals (including game), poultry/birds or their droppings;
Avoid visiting wet markets, live poultry markets or farms;
Avoid making close contact with patients, especially those with symptoms of acute respiratory infections;
Do not consume game meat and do not patronise food premises where game meat is served;
Adhere to food safety and hygiene rules such as avoiding consuming raw or undercooked animal products, including milk, eggs and meat, or foods which may be contaminated by animal secretions, excretions (such as urine) or contaminated products, unless they have been properly cooked, washed or peeled;
If feeling unwell when outside Hong Kong, especially if having a fever or cough, wear a surgical mask, inform the hotel staff or tour escort and seek medical advice at once; and
After returning to Hong Kong, consult a doctor promptly if having a fever or other symptoms, take the initiative to inform the doctor of any recent travel history and any exposure to animals, and wear a surgical mask to help prevent spread of the disease. ———————————

武汉市卫健委发布消息，通报新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎最新情况：2020年1月18日0—24时，治愈出院5例，新增病例59例，死亡1例；1月19日0—22时，治愈出院1例，新增病例77例。

武汉市在不断规范各级各类医疗机构预检分诊和发热门诊运行的基础上，按照新修订的新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎诊疗方案，进一步加大了新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疑似病例筛查力度，同时进一步完善检测方案，优化检测流程，加快了检测速度。国家、省市专家组结合临床表现、流行病学史和病原学检测结果进行综合研判，1月18日新认定新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎确诊病例59例，1月19日新认定新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎确诊病例77例，两日共新确诊病例136例。
136例患者中，男性66例、女性70例；年龄最小的25岁，年龄最大的89岁；发病日期均在2020年1月18日前；首发症状大多为发热、咳嗽或胸闷、呼吸困难。根据新修订的诊疗方案，患者病情按照轻、重和危重进行分类，其中轻症100例、重症33例、危重症3例（其中死亡1例）。新增病例相关流行病学调查正在深入进行，其密切接触者也在追踪中。
截至1月19日22时，武汉市累计报告新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎病例198例，已治愈出院25例，死亡3例。目前仍在院治疗170例，其中轻症126例、重症35例、危重症9例，均在武汉市定点医疗机构接受隔离治疗。累计追踪密切接触者817人，已解除医学观察727人，尚在接受医学观察90人，密切接触者中，没有发现相关病例。武汉市卫健委将继续对新发现的疑似病例及时进行采样检测。
冬春季是呼吸道传染病高发季节，也是病毒性肺炎的高发时期。专家提示，市民要注意防寒保暖、室内通风和个人卫生，加强体育锻炼，保持清淡饮食，避免到人群密集场所活动。有咳嗽、喷嚏时戴口罩或用纸巾、衣物遮挡口鼻以减少病菌传播。密切关注发热、咳嗽等症状，出现此类症状应及时就近就医。另外据广东省卫生健康委员会消息，1月19日，国家卫生健康委确认广东省首例输入性新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎确诊病例。
患者为66岁男性，现居深圳，2019年12月29日赴武汉探亲，2020年1月3日出现发热、乏力等症状，1月4日返深后就诊，1月11日转至深圳市定点医院隔离治疗。经省、市疾控中心采用优化后的检测试剂盒检测，呈新型冠状病毒核酸阳性。1月18日，标本送至中国疾控中心进行病毒核酸复核检测，结果为阳性。1月19日，经国家卫生健康委疫情领导小组下设的诊断组专家，结合《新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎诊疗方案（试行第二版）》内容，对该病例进行评估确认，专家组一致同意将该病例确认为新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎确诊病例。现患者病情稳定。广东省已对密切接触者进行追踪随访。———————
