Anyone tried using Carbitlink app for older model Saga Premium 2020?

Tried connecting by phone cable but unsuccessful, might be the Android phone issue.

Previous phone using Xiaomi 11 lite 5g NE, currently using S25+.

What configuration or settings need to be done to link and mirror phone screen into car screen?

Career Prospect in Palm Oil Mill

Currently working in HQ office almost 4 years, boss decided to transfer me to Sabah, 4 hours+ from Sandakan deep inside estate.

Before that 2 years working inside a palm oil mill in West Malaysia, all mills are less than 1 hour to nearby town. Because boss feel like it is the correct decision to transfer me out to Sabah to transform me since my career actually stagnant in HQ.

Partly I agree with my boss on my career prospect, but working there in Sabah not only the location is way too isolated, my current salary only top up allowance RM300 + 3 times a year to and fro flight tickets. Feel like even if not Sabah I still can progress in any other mill.

Boss still feel like his decision transferring me to Sabah is correct since nobody has proven him wrong yet.

How should I discuss with him again?

Saga 2020 December year end bought, approaching 4 years and going to renew road tax soon.

Last year basic premium is 1210.17, NCD 38.33%, with 150 topup for windscreen and 6% service tax and 10 bucks for stamp duty.
This year basic premium is 1221.97, NCD 45%, same topup, but 8% service tax instead of 6%.

Is it normal for car premium to hike up this year? Under Alliance insurance since the sales are saying this is the only premium for PIP to work if want extra coverage for key loss.

Last year total 960.10, this year quotation total 897.85, reducing by 6.5% only, given NCD increase by 6.67% from 38.33% to 45%. What I am not satisfied is the sales rep cannot answer my question when I try to dig deeper.

Sifus here can advise on this? If possible, any suggestions which premium to go with for cheaper price under PIP?

Hair Care for Men

I have oily scalp and scalp acnes always the problem if I use wrong shampoo. Currently do not have any hair loss or hair thinning problem, but scalp surface already a lot scarring due to bad habit of scratching when middle school time.

Imagine it is like the moon surface, with all meteorite craters along the surface, big and small.

Been using Head and Shoulders lemon fresh Instant Oil Control, it solves my oily scalp problem and less itchy due to clogged scalp pores. But lots of dandruffs falling from my head whenever I just simply brush off my hair using my hand. Didn't feel itchy or irritated so at least I believe the oil control part of the shampoo is a correct choice.

Any suggestion on other brand how to solve this dandruff problem while keeping my oily scalp clean and free of scalp acnes problem???

Phone unable to charge and turn on

Hi sifus, my Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE suddenly gone black and cannot be turned on. Tried charging it but no display shown on screen. Tried changing cables also no use. Before that I used it for TnG paying for lunch, then close the phone and put in pocket.

By the time I finished my lunch, the phone becoming like that, not functioning. Just now I I went to few shops and ask, they suspect it is the motherboard circuit shelf life finished. Changing the motherboard costs RM250 as they said. Is this reasonable?

Bought this model since 22 Nov 2021 with RM1399 online, so it is 2 years 3 months old. Shall I change a new phone with similar price or repair it?

I travelled to Japan and went to one of the shrines in Hokkaido recently. Trying my luck and choose the love option but can't read kanji.

Papago app translation a bit off and cannot be trusted fully, some apps do not even make sense when translating.

Anyone can help to explain?

Old Handphones & Accesorries

Currently I have 5 old smartphones: Vivo V5, Mi A2 lite, Huawei Y6II, Samsung Galaxy Y and Samsung Galaxy Corby II.

All phones are factory reset to default and can be opened normally, condition of SGY and SGCII screen is scratched, but still usable with little issue.

Besides phones, some accessories like chargers, cables, headphones still in good condition.

1. Where can I sell of these with good values?
2. If cannot sell off with values, where can I recycle them? I live in Ipoh and hopefully there is an electronic recyclable shop in Ipoh.
3. Can I sell them off as scrap metal as the old newspaper truck passing by the houses? They mentioned about taking in old electrical appliances as well.

Advanced Bonus Payment

My brother worked in a jewelery and accessories company, recently has come out a memo regarding Advanced Bonus Payment.

Company always paid this full advanced bonus together with salary to employees around February or March, but to keep it, you must work until year-end December.

Resigning before December, company will deduct the bonus from your salary.

Question: If I get the salary and bonus, then resigned the next day within 24 hours. What action will be taken by the company? Although the company said must resign within 1 month of notice.

Basic RM1500 + Allowance RM300, retail associate, commission based.

Most people suggesting Acer Nitro 5 for its value worth, but I found from MSI lazada store there is a model named GF63 thin.

Specs as below:

This one I go for model 763W-i7-11370h WITH 16GB RAM+ 512GB SSD, total RM4,299

This is MSI GF63 thin without any variation, personally I would like to go for this instead of Nitro 5. A 100+ bucks cheaper than Nitro 5 @RM4,188.50

Hi sifus, I try to summarize below:

My first job lasted 6 months when I graduated. During my first job, my cousin offered me the chance to interview at his MNC (a US company) which specialized in power generation. I was naived that time and accidentally turned down the interview. I was screwed by my cousin and my brother that time

Fast forward till today. I joined a MNC which focus in palm oil sector for almost 3 years. As you all know, palm oil sector pays well since MCO. Bonuses are good with steady increment and still lots of stuff to be learned.

Recently, my cousin offered me again the chance to interview at his company. To be honest, I am quite comfortable now in my current place, but I know my cousin's company pay will be a lot better and he can guide me if I successfully join him working for same MNC.

I asked my colleague who is working in palm oil mill, he told me no harm try the market to see your worth. Both jobs require outstation, the only difference in my cousin's workplace is project-based and my workplace is process-production based.

Shall I go for the interview? I have little to none in power generation and construction knowledge, I can only answer in palm oil milling knowledge.

If I go for it, what kind of questions shall I take note.

I am 28 years old and my current position is assistant manager. Both jobs require outstation, which I will be based in different mills for few years in my current position either in Peninsular, Sabah or Liberia; where my cousin's position is field engineer which will stay at other countries until the project is successfully commissioned.

Car Insurance

Hi sifus, my current car Saga 2020 December bought, need to renew road tax together with car insurance.

Any car insurance recommended?

I mainly drive alone, time to time will go into palm oil mill where the road is bumpy and full of potholes. Estimated at least once per week.

Sometimes will drive long distance within a single day, Ipoh <---> KL back and forth.

What website should I access to renew road tax and buy car insurance together?

Service Maintenance

Hi sifus, need to ask on 2nd service maintenance.

Following the service schedule, these things will be changed on next service:

1. Engine Oil
2. Engine Oil filter
3. Drain Plug Gasket

Since MCO open and close indefinitely, my car run for >6 months with only 2.5k mileage. Aside from what the service parts changed, my friend suggest me to addon N95 cabin filter with some topup a bit on the fee. Anything need to look out? Since my first service was done by my father and he always tell me the service centers (including official service centers) will try to con you by persuading you to add extra parts which is not necessary.

TP-Link Outdoor CPE

My working place currently is using model TL-WA5210G v1.2 for transmit WiFi signal to model TL-WA5210G v2.0.

The problem is one of the version 1.2 (my mill has 2 models of ver1.2 as transmitter and 1 model ver2.0 as receiver) having signal issue.

We plan to change it to a better version, my boss asked me to do it but I don't have the knowledge on how to start, what to buy, compatibility, configuration as I do not have the technical knowledge on this.

I tried searching YouTube to self-learn but mostly is in a language I don't understand and video sources quite few.

Any Sifus can guide me through this?

We use the WiFi transmitter and receiver for CCTV viewing, so when CCTV does not show at the monitor, something is wrong with the signal.

But I found at TP-Link website, it is called Outdoor CPE.

I got few friends selling insurance finding me to promote their own saving insurance, one is Hong Leong Assurance and others are Great Eastern.

Great Eastern force saving insurance 10 years paying the premium and mature in 20 years.

Hong Leong Wealth Booster insurance 6 years paying the premium and mature based on our choice I think.

Both also I havent deeply go into them, just want to ask any recommendations from sifus here?

Every month I can contribute 300 to the insurance.

Saga Premium End Year

After working for 1 year in current company, I decided to buy Saga premium as my company has corporate rebate and before next year come got sales tax deduction.

Usual price for Saga premium is around 41k and after the rebate and sales tax deduction around 1k, I will pay around 40k. My financial status allows me to pay 9k down payment so I proceed to ask for 31k after adding the 1k rebate and sales tax deduction.

CIMB gives me 3.01% interest after I submitted all my documents to the saleswoman. Now I am asking her which other bank she has helped me to apply.
For this car, the free gift she offered is

1. Free 5 yrs warranty tinted
2. Free full tank petrol
3. Free umbrella
4. Free waterproof coil mat

Based on my situation, can the sifus here helped me to evaluate as I am new to buying cars. For the reason why I passed all documents for the saleswoman to handle and didnt run the errand myself, I am working inside the palm oil mill which is very far from town and even CMCO making it worse to get public transport.

Want to buy 2-in-1 sweep and mop machine for my mom to lighten her daily work since she already 60 years old this year.

We have a pet dog (Shih Tzu) living inside house, so dust, dog fur, sand, etc will dirty the floor.

My budget is around 1.5k or less, no preference on brand as long as the performance is great and can really help senior citizens do easy cleaning.

No vacuum cleaner recommendation as my mom said floor must be mopped to clean away the dirt attached on the floor . Vacuum only helps in cleaning dust according to her .

Helping a Malay colleague

My Malay colleague went to 1 klinik and 2 different hospital about his kalenjar and rahang
Klinik told him kalenjar bengkak and refer him to bb hospital.
BB hospital told him rahang already moved from its own original position.
He went KPJ Rawang and they told him nothing serious about his kalenjar and rahang.

So he asked me about any treatment that I can suggest him.
And he specifically mentioned traditional chinese treatment.

He lives in Kuala Selangor (work) and Banting (home) area.

Scratch marks on Corning Gorilla Glass 3

I have been using my V5 since 2016. Scratch marks getting bigger and more per year. Phone still in good condition so will not change a new phone.
Or perhaps can change a new piece of glass?

Network Cables for CCTV (Long Distance)

I was in charge of installing new cctv in the factory. Which network cables I shall be using?
New supplier of cctv suggest me buying from them but I am suspicious about their quotation.

Old cctv network cables in use:

Cables I have bought for internet connection (laying new cables for new pc too, so if I can use the cables I've bought recently then can save cost):

New supplier suggests me to use CAT 6 Full copper network cable and when I asked whether cat 5e cable compatible with their cctv,
He said No, Cat 6 cable is better.

I know Cat 6 better, but my question is if Cat5e compatible with ur cctv, why need to buy extra cable from u?

Any suggestions and recommendations on this issue? Your replies are appreciated. Thanks.
