Help packing CPU to be checked in on flight!

Hi, sorry pretty much clueless here and not sure where to post!

I want to check in my CPU and screen onboard my flight (because I have the luggage quota to spare) and am looking on how to pack it properly so that it won't get damaged in the process. On this website, it mentions that I need to remove the heatsink from the processor (which i have no idea how to, or whether it is entirely necessary) or to provide support for it (how?).

Most people tell me that I just need to remove the hard disk and pack the the tower and harddisk separately.

In this case too, should i wrap the chassis using anti-static bubble wrap? Where can i find rolls of anti-static bubble wraps around? :/

Computer overheating and Loud fan

Hi, I have an acer aspire which is two years old. Each time I turn on the laptop, the fan is always kinda loud, and the computer quickly overheats. Apart from user a cooler pad and external fan to cool the computer, is there anything I can do to help reduce the overheating? I've tried cleaning the air vents but it does very little to help. Also! In regards to the fan, is there anyway to reduce the noise produced by the fan? Is the fan faulty/hardware issue (thus covered by Acer) ? My laptop is still currently under warranty....

[WTA] Acer notebook Trade-in Value!

Have an acer aspire nb, 4920G upgraded to 2gig ram, which i want to trade in to get a newer notebook (most likely an acer or toshiba model-haven't decided yet) before I fly off to study. It's almost 2 years old, with an additional 1 year warranty left. Any ideas what's the trade in value for this?

HDD data transfer/corruption

Hi, I have an external hard disk drive (2.5"), western digital of which recently when i plug it into the computer, it reads blank in XP, and in my laptop which has Vista, it tells me to reformat the drive. When viewing the hard disk properties however, it states that there is some data in the drive. I did take it to a computer shop to retrieve the data, so now, the data can be seen on the hard disk, when i open it in windows explorer. Now the problem is, that I cannot shift the data out of the hard disk because it takes a very very long time in data transfer, or sometimes hangs the computer in the process.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or at the very least transfer the data out? I have really important stuff inside there
