WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) - A foreign hacker compromised files relating to the FBI’s investigation of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a break-in at the bureau’s New York Field Office three years ago, according to a source familiar with the matter and recently published Justice Department documents reviewed by Reuters.

The details of who accessed a server at the FBI’s New York Field Office, ‌including the allegation that a foreign hacker was involved, are being reported here for the first time.

In a statement, the FBI said what it described as a "cyber incident" was "an isolated one."
"The FBI restricted access to the malicious actor and rectified the network. The investigation remains ongoing, so we do not have further comments to provide at this time."

Although the source said the intrusion appeared to have been carried out by a cybercriminal rather than a foreign government, the incident underscores the files' potential intelligence value, one academic said. The legally mandated publication of U.S. Justice Department documents has exposed the dead financier's ties to prominent people in politics, finance, academia and business, triggering investigations in numerous countries around the world.

“Who wouldn’t be going after the Epstein files if you’re the Russians or somebody interested in kompromat?” said ⁠Jon Lindsay, who researches the role of emerging technology in global security at the Georgia Institute of Technology. “If foreign intelligence agencies are not thinking seriously about the Epstein files as a target, then I would be shocked.”
The breach was reported contemporaneously by CNN and Reuters on February 17; the connection to Epstein materials was made by the French magazine Marianne.

Epstein, a longtime associate of President Donald Trump, pleaded guilty in 2008 to prostitution charges, including soliciting an underage girl. He was found hanged in his jail cell in 2019, in what was ruled a suicide, after being arrested again on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors.

The person familiar with the breach said the intrusion was carried out by a foreign hacker who did not appear to realize they had penetrated ⁠a law enforcement server. The hacker expressed disgust at the presence of child abuse images on the device and left a message threatening to turn its owner over to the FBI, the person said.

The source said bureau officials defused the situation by convincing the hacker that they actually were the FBI, in part by having the hacker join a video chat where they flashed their law enforcement credentials in front ⁠of a web camera.

Exclusive: US intelligence says Iran government is not at risk of collapse, say sources

NEW YORK/WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) - U.S. intelligence indicates that Iran's leadership is still largely intact and is not at risk of collapse any time soon after nearly two weeks of relentless U.S. and Israeli bombardment, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

A "multitude" of intelligence reports provide "consistent analysis that the regime is not in danger" of collapse and "retains control of the Iranian public," ‌said one of the sources, all of whom were granted anonymity to discuss U.S. intelligence findings.

The intelligence reporting underscores the cohesion of Iran's clerical leadership despite the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28, the first day of the U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Unilaterally-converted Selangor woman fails final court bid to be declared not Muslim

A Selangor-born woman today failed in her final attempt at the Federal Court to seek a court declaration that she is not a Muslim.

TLDR - Father Hindu, Mother Buddhist. Mother later convert to Islam and change their daughter's religion to Islam as well without father's consent. The daughter is 4 years old then. The daughter for the past 11 years now try to change her religion but cannot.

Is this the standard of our law? Is this freedom of religion or is this religious coercion? How is the average Malay/Muslims okay with this? Zero ethics, zero humanity. Folks ask why Islamophobia is a thing, but turn a blind eye to farces like these.

Federal Court judge Datuk Zabariah Mohd Yusof, who chaired a three-judge panel, dismissed the 38-year-old woman’s application to review an earlier Federal Court decision.

“We unanimously dismiss the application in both cases with no order as to costs,” she said after the Federal Court heard the case today.

The other two judges on the panel are Datuk Rhodzariah Bujang and Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera.

This woman, identified only as D to protect her privacy, was born in Selangor to a Hindu father and a Buddhist mother.

The mother later converted herself and D, then four years’ old, to Islam without the father’s knowledge or consent.

Previously, D told the courts she was born a Hindu and had only professed and practised the Hindu religion.

D also said she was never a Muslim, had never converted to Islam and had never uttered the “kalimah syahadah” (the declaration of faith required to convert to Islam).

D has spent 11 years — since age 27 — going to the courts to seek a declaration that she is not a Muslim, as she just wanted to be officially recorded as not a Muslim.

This all started from when she tried at the age of 25 in 2011 to have the label “Islam” removed from her identity card to reflect her religious identity to be a non-Muslim.

But the National Registration Department rejected her application for the removal of the “Islam” label, and the Shariah courts also rejected her bid to be confirmed as a non-Muslim, which then led to her efforts in the civil courts to be recognised as not a Muslim.

D in December 2021 won a High Court order that declared her as “not a person professing the religion of Islam”.

But the Court of Appeal in a 2-1 decision in January 2023 restored D’s official religious status as a Muslim, and the Federal Court in a 2-1 decision in May 2024 agreed that D should remain officially known as a Muslim.

D had wanted the Federal Court’s panel today to review the decision made by the two judges in May 2024 against her, but the Federal Court’s rejection of her review application means that her official religious status remains as a Muslim now.

I'm sure most of you are now well aware that the UK masters in cardiothoracic programme that is taught in UM is unrecognized. If it is unrecognized, the graduates cannot practice as specialist in Malaysia. Bear in mind this program was created under MoE and KKM initiative. So how on earth it turned out to be unrecognized is unimaginable.

But here's the best part, it was listed on MMC website itself that the program IS RECOGNISED, but suddenly in 2021, they removed it from the website.

Imagine how you as a student would feel? Literally kena tipu and scammed by government.

PETALING JAYA: Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today proposed the establishment of a Bumiputera land corporation to increase the community’s land ownership

Kuwait regained its independence, and the first thing Kuwait did was to expel all Palestinians out of the country.

So today if you wonder why so many Arab countries, while they pity the Palestinians, they won't take them in, it’s because history shows that they are will start an armed conflict. Many terrorist organizations like Hamas and Fatah have brainwashed Palestinians so much to the point that many of their own Arab brothers and sisters don't want them already.

This is why Egypt that borders Gaza refuse to accept any of them. They even block them from entering their country as of right now when Israel is attacking them.
