Connection Problem and modem/router instability

Hello everybody.

First of all I would like to apologize in advance if this has been answered before, but I'm in a situation here.

I have I Mbit Streamyx connection, which I needed to share with 5 computers at home. when I got the connection, I bought a Conexant Hasbani ADSL modem, and a Belkin 125 HSM Wireless G router. I put my modem as 1483 Bridged IP LLC (modem only function) and used the Belkin router to manage the PPPoE using default MTU of 1432 (the router doesn't have PPPoA option). It worked for a while perfectly, then this symptom appeared; the PPP would just disconnect all by itself especially if using BT or other heavy traffic. It would reconnect back but then dc again after a sometimes, and so the cycle cont. Changing the MTU value didn't made any difference either.

Then I decided to activate the router function of my Conexant ADSL modem, and use the Belkin only as AP. That went quite well for another sometime untill recently, the modem just started to hang, especially with BT on, even cannot access it through Mozilla or Konqueror. If I disable the router in the modem, and just connect a single PC, and use the software PPPoE connection, then things are perfect, but I need the connection shared between 5 computers.

If any of you experts know a solution to this, please help. I thank you in advance.
Btw, I keep one of the comps in DMZ permanently, save trouble of opening too many ports.
