I hate my job: shld I tell this to my boss during

When I first join the company, I was heading 12 personnel.
I loved them job, it was relating to my accountancy field.
Then my new boss came in and abruptly changed my job scope to become a lone wolf job.
I am a victim of my own success, I did so well doing that, that he is unwilling to move me back to my former job.
My former job was passed to my senior who refuse to budge and see me as a threat to his position, although I offered to help him many times.

I am tired of my new lone wolf role.
It has nothing to do with Accountancy.
Its killing my career.
wHAT do I have to answer for after 3 years ?

My boss never praise me, but always like to use harsh pushing...he is from a country that likes to talk rude to other people.
Their style almost akin to communism.
He also promised me many things like provide me with another team of staff, but lied to me.
I felt many times he dangle candy just to put pie on my face.

He also try to push dirty work at me.
Again I am victim of my own success
I am so good at cleaning shit, that he wants to give me more.
The job also involves a lot of begging and pleading to people from other department to help me.
I became so good at being a beggar
But I hate it when its sacrificing my time with my own family

So i complained a lot that he been pushing me crap.
And those KPIs he provided to me is so unfair.
He wants to have another appraisal session to review back my KPIs.

I really want to tell him I hate this role.
Should I do this ??
Not that he can give me back my old job.
Since the senior is sitting there very warmly.
But I just want to tell him how much I hate this job.

Yes Yes I know this is pandemic time. Not much luxury to find job.
I been checking out the job market but not much luck.

Rejected so many times

I just got rejected by many job application in jobsteet.

15-20k.

I don't know why I have never been rejected so many times before, worked 20 over years. I always receive job offers.

I work in Accountancy, I just want to do budget or financial controller job.

Is it because:-

1) I work for this GLC that kena blacklisted ? don't want to reveal
2) I only work 2 years 7 months for this co so far ?
3) My job scope ? I find out my accounting job is too operational and is killing my career. Meaning ?
I am doing more data mining work than accountancy.
4) HR does not seem to look at my past experience my second and third previous job
5) Age 42-48 range. Am I too old ? This is msia not singapore

Solution:

1) Change my CV for my recent job, overhaul it ? take away all those wording that is too operational ? I am thinking of copy paste from those co that rejected me and then refine and apply to my actual experience ?
2) but if I do (1) then during interview they will challenge me. I need to know how to relate and tweek according to their requirements
3) Lower my expected salary ? I am asking for 22% increase, should I go down to 15% ?
4) Because economy is bad ?
5) problem is between my last job and current one, it jumped 33%. So maybe I am at a range with too little experience as a finance controller but pay too high ?
6) keep on trying ? but einstein say insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting the same result

during my school days, used to have many friends.

I used to play lots of snooker and arcade games (ok u guys know how old I am) with my gang of friends.

then came to study overseas university, that was the best time I ever had. Parents no longer around to monitor us. We had parties after parties at our rented home. We also travelled all over the country, booked a caravan and drove thousands of miles.

after came back to Msia, still had many friends, went to night club after night scene. Met my friend's colleagues, then friend with their colleagues.

came back home 3-5am every weekend.

then one by one of my friends got married, I was best friend played.
One by one of my friends even migrated....to Spore, Uk, USA, Canada, Australia, NZ.

As I approached into my 30s, life started to get really BORING.
I took up masters degree, and many hobbies. Preferred to live n enjoy that SINGLE life.
But I found it harder and harder to find friends.
Even for those single guys in their 30s, they also tend to be loners.
Wanted to join those outdoor groups, then I got a gym injury that seem to worsen by the day.
After that, I got into a bicycle accident cracked some ribs.
my fitness went down the hill after that.
I could not join my bunch of friends who cycled 100km in the weekend, because of my long term injury which developed into a long term illness.

Then I got married and started my own family.
Fed up with my single life, felt like I could not share my life with anyone.
Sure lots of money to build up my MAN CAVE.
I even thought of passing my inheritance to my nephews and nieces.
But I thought again, and renewed my earliest passion for wanting to start my own family.
Fortunately, I found the woman of my dreams and got married.

Then came class reunion.
After so many years of not meeting them, I really missed them.
But when i came to saw was so different...

they are not the same as what they used to be...
they used to be down to earth can joke
now they are so status driven...
if youre lower status than them, they just shut you out..and allow the most successful among us to speak..
there were some datuks and datins in their late 30s...in my class reunions
boy, so many people just suck up to them during the party
everyone were like showing off, how many multi million properties they have
how many kids they have, and how they send them to the most top local prestigeous private schools
intend to send them to study harvard or yale next time.

Yaada Yaada...

I always envisioned a community of friends whereby we grow and help each other
if i had some issue with the electricity in my house, maybe the ELCB or what, maybe an engineer friend would help
Well fortunately I do have another class mates watsapp group that is ready to help

But this group of friends....they all changed
they were my best friends, I attended as their best man...heck even for some of the females, I was part of their girl group in their wedding.
Now they all became like...gosh....so up scale.
can't even approach.

Do you have this kind of situation like me ?
I now more confine with my family and kid and play with my nephew and nieces during this pandemic. Hardly called, or even talk to any ex classmates. Thank goodness for family.
Which brings me to the subject, friends are so subjective, they come and go.
no point investing in.

Tunisia in talks with Kuwait to grab 28 hornets?

SHAH ALAM: Tunisia is reportedly in talks with Kuwait to purchase its Hornet fleet, an African based blog is reporting. Military Africa on its Twitter handle stated:

Tunisia in talks with Kuwait for the purchase of the Kuwaiti F-18 Hornets. The F-18 Hornets will likely be modernized in the United States before integrating the Tunisian Air Force.

I cannot confirmed the veracity of the report but it appears that Military Africa is good in getting stories about African defence scene so it is likely the report is correct though it does not mean that a contract will be sign in the immediate future. It must be noted that Tunisian Air Force is reportedly set to take delivery of 14 Lockheed Martin F-16V fighters in 2023 though I have not seen any US official notice for purchase of the Vipers.

The US State Department in February announced that it had approved the possible Foreign Military Sale to Tunisia of four AT-6C Wolverine Light Attack Aircraft and related equipment for an estimated cost of $325.8 million. The Tunisian military also have received a number of military equipment gifted from the US including 24 OH-5D Kiowa light helicopters.

So there is a possibility that if the Tunisian government to reduce the cost of buying new fighters – the air force still operates F-5s – by getting them at friendly prices from another Arab government. They will only need to pay for upgrade and other works on the Hornets, a cheaper option than buying new F-16s.

As you are aware the Kuwaitis are getting Eurofighter Typhoons and Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets to replace their Hornet fleet.

He is OK with that
But my wife is running low on breast milk

McDonalds to phase out plastic toys

Damn, I should have collected those plastic toys when I was young, can become collectable can sell.

McDonald's has pledged to phase out the use of fossil-fuel based plastics in its Happy Meal toys by 2025.
The company intends to use more paper and recyclable plastics in its toys.
However, experts are questioning if this move will make a real difference to the environment.

The fast-food giant's announcement on September 21 means kids could see the one billion children's toys that it distributes every year being converted into 3D paper figures and other toys made of recycled plastic or plant-derived materials.

The company said in a statement on Tuesday that its 2025 pledge could result in a 90% reduction of fossil fuel-based plastic in its Happy Meal toys, in comparison with its 2018 tally of materials used. It claimed that the benefits wrought by this change would be equivalent to close to 700,000 people ditching the use of plastic for a year.

"Our next generation of customers care deeply about protecting the planet and what we can do to help make our business more sustainable," said McDonald's Chief Sustainability Officer Jenny McColloch in the statement.

McDonald's first introduced the Happy Meal in 1979, but customers have been pushing for the company to be more environmentally friendly in recent years. For instance, two British girls started a petition in 2019 to ask McDonald's and Burger King to not distribute plastic toys and got over 500,000 signatures.

Now, toys that come with the meals in the UK and Ireland do not use non-renewable plastics in their making, and French Happy Meals no longer come with plastic toys. In the US, McDonald's has also rolled out some paper-based toy options, like books and Pokemon cards.

Environmental experts say more can be done

nvironmental experts are questioning, however, if McDonald's pledge will make a real difference to the environment.

Sharon Seah, a climate change researcher in the ASEAN Studies Centre at Singapore's ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, told Insider that while McDonald's has made an "encouraging" move, it's only "part of the story" of how more sustainable actions can be taken by big corporations.

"Given that McDonald's is one of the world's largest franchising brands, more can be done in terms of other operations, like reducing their carbon footprint while moving products across supply chains," Seah said.

She added that the reduction of plastics in Happy Meals is merely "scratching the surface."

"The life cycle of toys, in general, is still very poorly managed. Plastic is still plastic and isn't a sufficiently biodegradable option. And with paper, the pulp used to create these products is still a resource," Seah said.

Seah added that McDonald's could most definitely offer more vegan options, or venture into offering plant-based meat in their meals to offset its beef consumption.

It is estimated that McDonald's sells more than a billion pounds of beef in the US every year. The company itself has cited beef production as a key source of its greenhouse gas emissions, and admitted that the carbon footprint of its beef production in the UK could be reduced.

According to the University of Michigan's Center for Sustainable Systems, the farming of cattle, sheep, and goats produced 178 million metric tons of greenhouse gases in 2018. More than six pounds of carbon are generated for each serving of beef produced. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization also projected in a 2013 study that if cows were their own country, they would be the world's third-largest greenhouse gas emitter.

Stephanie Feldstein, population and sustainability director at the US-based nonprofit Center for Biological Diversity, also called out McDonald's for their use of beef in a statement posted on Twitter.

"McDonald's serves billions of burgers a year, with massive consequences for our climate," said Feldstein. "If McDonald's really wants to create sustainable change, it can't stop at plastic-free toys. The company needs to overhaul its menu, put the McPlant in every restaurant, and reduce the amount of beef it serves too."

China's military has an Achilles' heel:

TOKYO -- The Chinese Communist Party has unintentionally revealed weaknesses of the country's military.

One indication came with the building of facilities for launching new intercontinental ballistic missiles in an inland desert region. The other was a series of further attempts to increase childbirths, including measures to help reduce the costly burden of educating children. Behind these moves lurks evidence that the country is addressing concerns regarding troop morale and the military's ability to fight a sustained war.

For nearly a decade, China has been busy in the South China Sea, first building artificial islands, then deploying radar equipment and missiles to deter foreign military aircraft and vessels from approaching the area, and finally deploying strategic nuclear submarines capable of launching ballistic missiles in the now-protected sea.

Submarine-launched ballistic missiles, known as SLBMs, are the ultimate weapon. They allow nations to avoid being put in disadvantageous positions since the subs that carry them can remain in deep waters, keeping the enemy at bay, until the very end.

So why is China rushing to build new ICBM bases in inland desert areas? Experts believe the reason lies in the fact that although China has militarized some waters in the South China Sea and deployed SLBMs, it no longer has confidence it can defend the area should conflict arise.

In January 2018, a Chinese submarine humiliatingly revealed its lack of high-level performance. The submarine, traveling undersea in a contiguous zone of Japan's Senkaku Islands, in the East China Sea, was quickly detected by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.

It was quick to surface and unhesitatingly raise the Chinese flag, which might as well have been a white flag of surrender; the crew presumably feared their vessel could be attacked with depth charges.

Under international law, the Maritime Self-Defense Force could have regarded the vessel as an "unidentified submarine" that had intruded into Japanese territorial waters while submerged.

Many Japanese and U.S. officials believe the incident symbolizes the low morale of Chinese troops.

Chinese Communist Party governments have spent the past quarter-century increasing military spending and staging military parades and naval reviews. But visible might like missiles and tanks is only one component of military power. There are also invisible inputs, like troop morale.

The Chinese navy has been working on an aircraft carrier program, but a former Japanese Ministry of Defense official predicts Chinese aircraft carriers will not leave their military ports in conflicts out of fear they might be attacked and sunk.

Some believe that Chinese soldiers' low morale is attributable to the country's long-standing one-child policy, which has made the military one of the world's leading "one-child armies."

"Over 70% of Chinese soldiers are 'only children,' and the rest are the second or later children whose parents had to pay fines to bear them," said Kinichi Nishimura, a former Ground Self-Defense Force officer who for many years has analyzed East Asia's military balance at the Ministry of Defense's Defense Intelligence Headquarters and elsewhere.

The Confucianist view that children must respect and take good care of their parents and ancestors remains deep-rooted in China. As a result, parents are particularly reluctant to see their children die earlier than they do. Parents of one-child households must feel even more strongly about their only son or daughter becoming nothing more than a proverbial "nail."

In China, where people tend to have little respect for soldiers, there is a saying: "Good steel does not become nails," meaning respectable individuals do not become soldiers. In order to ensure it can secure sufficient numbers of troops, the party has been working to improve salaries and pensions.

On Aug. 1, the government enacted a law to protect the status, rights and interests of military personnel. This desperate effort to improve the patina of a military career might be a sign that the People's Liberation Army has not been able to turn around its recruitment efforts, especially in the face of the country's ebbing fertility rate.

"The Chinese military has increased the deployment of battleships and fighter planes since a few years ago," Nishimura said, "but their operating rates are not exactly high. It seems they are unable to sufficiently train enough soldiers to properly maintain and repair" the high-tech hardware.

This is partly why the Chinese military in recent years has come to rely more on unmanned aircraft and ballistic missiles. The number of ballistic missiles China deploys has increased to several thousand.

One of the PLA's military doctrines not widely known, says, "In the initial battle of war, launch a large number of missiles and then immediately leave the front line." This strategy was picked up from the former Soviet Union, whose military played the role of teacher while China was forming the PLA.

Over the past few years, the PLA has rushed to add more fighter jets, surface ships and submarines, which might indicate an intention to increase the number of missiles that can be launched when battles commence. Unmanned aircraft are thought to have the same purpose. This strategy will continue, especially when the military is not able to secure enough soldiers.

To protect themselves from Chinese missile attacks, Japan and other nations must start thinking about enhancing measures to mitigate damage. These measures include developing and deploying next-generation arms, including high-energy laser weapons and rail guns, which use electromagnetic force to launch projectiles at extremely high speeds. Japan already has a technological foundation to develop these weapons, though this capacity is not widely known in the country.

Kuala Lumpur: "Memang penat, tapi sayang hutan punya pasal kami sanggup kutip dan pikul sampah yang dibuang manusia tidak bertanggungjawab," kata Mohd Shukri Mohd Salehuddin.

Mohd Shukri, 32, berkata, dia tidak boleh duduk diam sebaik mendapat maklumat kawasan air terjun Sungai Pisang, Gombak, Selangor dipenuhi sampah sarap.

Katanya, melihat lokasi rekreasi itu dicemari mengundang sebak dan kecewa dalam dirinya yang juga peminat sukan pendakian.

"Kami dapat tahu daripada rakan kami yang Sungai Pisang penuh dengan orang dan banyak sampah yang ditinggalkan selepas beriadah di situ.

"Jadi, saya bersama isteri dan empat lagi rakan buat keputusan ke sana dan kutip sampah semampu kami pada 12 September," katanya ketika dihubungi, hari ini.

Menurutnya, kumpulannya tiba seawal 6 pagi di kawasan air terjun dan mengambil masa satu jam membersihkan kawasan sekitar.

"Selepas pasang khemah, kami solat Subuh di situ dan baru mula bersihkan kawasan sekitar.

"Sangat menyedihkan, banyak plastik, bekas makanan, botol air, kertas, tapak kasut dan puntung rokok di situ," katanya.

Mohd Shukri berkata, lebih membebankan apabila mereka terpaksa memikul tiga plastik sampah besar secara bergilir-gilir selama 40 minit sambil mengharungi trek untuk sampai di kawasan pembuangan sampah di tempat letak kereta.

"Tidak susah sebenarnya nak bawa balik sampah selepas beriadah di sungai, hutan mahupun tempat awam.

"Yang susahnya bila kena angkat sampah yang bertimbun, jadi saya sangat berharap orang ramai lebih bertanggungjawab soal isu ini," katanya.

Katanya, dia turut berkongsi usaha itu di Twitter dan tidak menyangka ia mendapat perhatian ramai.

"Kami harap dengan usaha kami ini, orang lain dapat menjadikannya inspirasi untuk menjaga alam sekitar.

"Apa yang dibawa perlu dibawa keluar sekali, menjaga kebersihan alam sekitar itu penting sebab orang kita mesti nak datang menikmatinya lagi," katanya.

Kucing-Kucing Mati

Kuala Lumpur: Bulu gugur dengan banyak, cirit birit dan ada yang mati. Itu nasib dialami kucing peliharaan Presiden Kelab Kucing Malaysia (KKM) Khalid Rashid, 55, selepas termakan makanan tiruan yang dibeli secara dalam talian.

Khalid berkata, makanan itu dibeli beberapa bulan lalu di sebuah platform jualan dalam talian terkemuka.

"Kebiasaannya, saya membeli makanan kucing di kedai tetapi membuat pembelian dalam talian kerana mahu mengehadkan pergerakan berikutan pelaksanaan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP).

"Saya fikir, kaedah itu lebih mudah dan selamat dalam tempoh pandemik kerana transaksi dilakukan secara dalam talian dan hanya perlu menunggu barangan sampai di rumah.

"Ketika itu, saya tidak berasa ragu-ragu atau terlalu teliti untuk memeriksa keaslian produk dibeli sehingga nampak kesannya pada kucing peliharaan tidak lama selepas diberi makanan berkenaan," katanya ketika dihubungi Harian Metro.

Selain ada yang mati, Khalid berkata, kucing peliharaannya turut mengalami masalah bulu gugur kronik dan cirit- birit hingga terpaksa dibawa ke klinik veterinar untuk mendapatkan rawatan.

Menurut Khalid, apa yang berlaku membuatkannya serik untuk membeli makanan secara dalam talian.

"Cukuplah, itu kali pertama dan terakhir saya membeli makanan kucing secara dalam talian.

"Tak sanggup rasanya melihat kucing mati dan menderita malah rumah saya penuh dengan bulu ketika itu, ibarat salji.

"Hasil maklumat yang saya terima, ramai pemilik dan pembiak kucing baka sudah menjadi mangsa dengan kegiatan itu kemungkinan ada sejak dulu cuma semakin aktif dalam tempoh pandemik," katanya.

Khalid berharap, pihak berwajib mengambil tindakan tegas dengan melakukan pemantauan kerana makanan kucing tiruan itu adalah daripada jenama terkemuka di pasaran yang sering menjadi pilihan pembeli.

Justeru, Khalid enggan lebih ramai terpedaya hingga kucing menjadi mangsa akibat ketamakan pengeluar dan penjual makanan yang hanya tahu mengaut untung.

"Produk makanan tiruan itu kemungkinan mengandungi bahan tiruan atau perasa berlebihan yang boleh merosakkan organ kucing yang memakannya.

"Jadi, agensi terbabit antaranya Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar (JPV) dan Jabatan Perkhidmatan Kuarantin dan Pemeriksaan Malaysia (Maqis) perlu melakukan pemantauan jualan makanan kucing di premis serta dalam talian.

"Agensi terbabit juga boleh meningkatkan ciri keselamatan dengan menetapkan keperluan adanya penandaan atau logo khusus bagi memudahkan pengguna memeriksa keaslian sesuatu produk," katanya.

Menurut Khalid peranannya sebagai Presiden KKM pula adalah menasihati ahli supaya sentiasa berhati-hati ketika membuat pembelian dan hanya membeli dengan ejen atau pengedar sah bagi mengelak kucing mendapat mudarat.

Anak kucing mati selepas cirit-birit

Nilai: "Saya tak sangka ada yang tergamak menjual makanan tiruan untuk mengaut untung tanpa menghiraukan nyawa kucing," kata pembiak dan pemilik kucing, Sarah Coon.

Sarah, 44, yang menetap di Nilai Impian di sini antara individu menjadi mangsa selepas terbeli makanan kucing tiruan di sebuah platform jualan dalam talian.

Katanya, dia membuat pembelian itu pada Mac lalu dan tidak ragu-ragu untuk membeli kerana tiada ulasan buruk tertera pada ruangan maklum balas peniaga berkenaan.

"Saya beli makanan itu dengan harga RM210 selepas potongan 10 peratus yang kononnya diberikan sempena promosi dalam tempoh Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP).

"Makanan dipesan sampai namun haiwan peliharaan saya mengalami cirit-birit selepas itu dan belasan ekor mati, kebanyakannya anak kucing.

"Saya yakin ia berpunca daripada makanan kerana sebelum ini kucing saya sihat dan bebas penyakit," katanya ketika dihubungi Harian Metro.

Sarah cuba berhubung semula dengan penjual makanan berkenaan namun tidak mendapat maklum balas.

Berikutan itu, dia terpaksa menanggung kos membawa kucing yang sakit ke klinik veterinar untuk mendapatkan rawatan.

"Saya terpaksa mengeluarkan duit empat kali ganda untuk membayar kos rawatan di klinik veterinar yang berjumlah lebih RM800.

"Itu belum lagi wang pelanggan membuat tempahan yang terpaksa saya pulangkan kerana kucing ingin dibeli mati.

"Bayangkan hal ini terjadi kepada mereka yang tidak berkemampuan dan entah bagaimana nasib kucing itu nanti," katanya.

Sarah berkata, isu itu perlu dipandang serius kerana membabitkan nyawa haiwan yang sepatutnya dilindungi oleh manusia.

Lebih membimbangkan Sarah jika lebih ramai individu terbabit dalam jualan makanan tiruan kerana sedar dapat mengaut untung mudah dengan cara itu.

"Paling saya takutkan adalah kesan jangka panjang daripada isu ini. Salah satunya kucing yang sakit kemungkinan dibuang pemilik yang tidak mampu menampung kos rawatan dan menjaganya lagi.

80k divorce cases during Covid pandemic

KUALA LUMPUR: Almost 80,000 divorce cases were filed at courts nationwide during the Covid-19 pandemic period between March 2020 and last month.

From the total divorce cases, 66,440 involved Muslim couples and 10,346 involved non-Muslims.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the data on the divorce cases were based on the statistics provided by the Courts and the Syariah Judiciary Department.

Ismail Sabri (BN - Bera) said this in his written reply in Parliament when responding to a question by Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom (PH - Tampin) who asked the prime minister to state the statistic of divorce cases involving people in the rural areas during the pandemic.

"The courts do not have a specific statistic on divorce cases among people in the rural areas during the pandemic.

"However, the number of divorce cases filed among non-Muslim couples nationwide from March in 2020 until August 2021 was 10,346 cases.

"Similarly, the Syariah Judiciary Department does not have the distribution of divorce cases filed among Muslim couples residing in the urban and rural areas.

"However, the number of cases registered for divorces involving Muslim couples during the same period was 66,440," he said.

Based on these statistics, Selangor has the highest number of couples registering for divorce, in which, 12,479 cases involved Muslim couples and 3,169 cases involved non-Muslim couples.

Frustration at stupid HR

I used to be doing work statutory and management reporting for Finance.

Then I accepted a very special role in a new co doing special officer for CFO.

Now I applying for jobstreet, why the stupid employers so dumbass ?

The HR straight away rejected me because of my most recent experience.

They don't even bother to see my past vast experience in doing month end closing work.

I am so pissed off.

I see so many employers reject me based on the my current job experience. Ridiculous.
I only in this job for 2 years 8 months.

Why Marketing field so tough one ?

I heard one Co marketing dept situation like this:

1) Work late, got campaign deadlines to catch up
2) Single, females smoke a lot
3) Head of dept male is an asshole who likes to use lots of bad words
4) Crazy female 40 yr old single bosses who are extremely micro manager
5) Staffs who have children become underperformers
6) Staffs who are good at polish shoe go up up and away
7) work late night until 3 am
8) plans keep on changing here and there
9) Bosses don't care about welfare of their female staff, go back late at night alone
10) So many single guys in late 30s still unmarried
11) Female staffs dread to be pregnant else they be target for punishment, underperform, training miss out

I suspect I am suffering from something, i can't disclose here.

But I want to see GP for treatment and advice.

I am in midst of a MRTA agreement to be sign, I don't want it to jeopardize because Insurance co will make hooh haah over shit like this.

How do I avoid detection ?

I don't use medical card ?

I go pay by cash ?

or can I tell the GP to register my name as anonymous ?

Footballer Jean-Pierre Adams Coma 40 yrs died

Jean-Pierre Adams, the former French soccer player who spent 39 years in a coma following a routine knee surgery that went terribly wrong, died Monday.

He was 73.

“We learned this morning of the passing of Jean-Pierre Adams,” read a statement from Nimes, for whom Adams played from 1970 to 1973. “He had worn the colors of Nimes Olympique 84 times and with Marius Trésor made up ‘the black guard’ of the French team.

“The club offers its most sincere condolences to his loved ones and his family.”

One of the first black players to compete for France, Adams fell into a coma on March 17, 1982 while undergoing a routine operation on a knee tendon that was damaged in a match.

Several workers at the hospital Adams was being operated on were on strike, according to CNN, which led to an anesthetic error.

“The female anesthetist was looking after eight patients, one after the other, like an assembly line,” his wife Bernadette told the outlet in 2016. “Jean-Pierre was supervised by a trainee, who was repeating a year, who later admitted in court: ‘I was not up to the task I was entrusted with.’”

Adams had been lying in a coma at his home in Nimes, where he was cared by his wife, for nearly four decades.

After starting his career in Fontainebleau, where he helped the local side win its amateur championship, Adams was spotted by Nimes.

He scored 10 goals in 98 matches for Nimes and 17 goals in 150 games for Nice.

The Senegal native amassed 22 caps for the French national team, as well.

“Nice was heartbroken to learn of the passing of Jean-Pierre Adams,” Nice wrote on Twitter, “The former defender wore the colors of the Gym 145 times from 1973 to 1977. OGC Nice stands with the pain of his relatives who have looked after him for 39 years.”

Nice added that a tribute will be paid to Adams at their home match against Monaco on Sept. 19.
