Dear Forum Moderators,

I am writing to report regarding another user potentially accessing and disclosing my personal data.

A forum user has publicly stated that they are able to view my IP address.

I am not sure how LYN handles user backend data when comes to user personal data but I am deeply concerned about this as an invasion of privacy and a potential violation of Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), which classifies IP addresses as personal data and requires data users to protect such data from unauthorized disclosure under its Security and Disclosure Principles."

"TOKYO: A fire on a US Navy ship off Japan was finally put out after 12 hours early Thursday (Aug 21), the US military said, after local vessels spent most of the night dousing the blaze.

Two US sailors were treated for minor injuries from the fire which broke out on the USS New Orleans in the southern island of Okinawa on Wednesday, the US 7th Fleet said in a statement.

"The cause of the fire is currently under investigation... New Orleans' crew will remain aboard the ship," the statement said.

The 208.4-metre (684-foot), 24,433-tonne amphibious transport dock ship is anchored off the White Beach Naval Facility.

Japan's Coast Guard said that initially the US military sought assistance from Japan, but then cancelled the request before then renewing it around 7:30pm (1030 GMT).

Four Japanese vessels -- from the Coast Guard, the navy and private contractors -- spent the night dousing the blaze, spokesman Tetsuhiro Azumahiga told AFP.

My tldr summary after watching the video.

1. People overestimated the productivity of AI when comes to coding. If let's say AI get the work done 100% faster, 50% of the time is spent to debug AI code

2. AI prompted code often comes with more line of codes and people often misjudge more lines of codes equals to more productivity

3. The net productivity of complex task is low and sometimes decreases your productivity

4. More popular code = more accuracy and productivity. Less popular code = less accuracy and often times faster when you do it yourself

My prediction is that coders will eventually be on demand again in near future because most CEO doesn't realise how buggy is AI code and they need to pay someone to fix them

The US should welcome China’s best scientific minds into its universities to compete with the mainland’s success in AI, American lawmakers in Washington heard on Thursday, as Chinese start-up DeepSeek unnerved the global tech market this week.

“Let’s steal their best engineers,” said Melanie Hart of the Washington-based Atlantic Council at a hearing convened by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Referencing the Chinese talent behind DeepSeek’s AI models, Hart testified that “we’d be better off if the engineers behind that were working here in the US”.

To achieve that, she continued, students from the mainland would need to feel safe in America, adding: “We can beat Beijing at making Chinese scientists feel safe.”

Hart’s comments came as Washington debates how best to retain top talent while safeguarding US intellectual property rights and national security.
They also coincide with a growing trend of US-based Chinese scientists returning to the mainland, driven in part by concerns of racial profiling under American national security policies and expanding opportunities in China’s tech sector.

The debate took centre stage at Thursday’s hearing, as US senator Jim Risch, an Idaho Republican and the committee’s chair, saw a key “flaw” in the proposal to lure tech talent from the mainland.
