My suggestion is that in the future, I would think it's better to ask a future candidate of yours to do the technical test AFTER the interview. I did a test that requires me to spend 3 full days setting up the entire project together with all of it's component using the latest technologies, writing unit tests and then documentation on how to use the web services and when I went for the interview, I did not make it because I did not answer a few questions.

The entire web service that I set up is a demonstration of my technical abilities. i am 80% sure that most projects out there do not even follow the standards that I have set up. This project would have taken me at least 2-3 weeks in my previous companies and yet you expect me to finish this suite of web services in 3-4 days. Writing the test cases alone took me 9-10 hours non stop.

Incredible. Just dunno how people with an actual job will be able to make it to that interview.

If I was so good and can answer every question that you asked. I would not even be applying for your job in the first place.

Usefulness of External Recruiters

Just curious.
So far. I do not see much value add when it comes to external recruiters.
In fact, sometimes I feel that most of the time, external recruiters actually reduce the chances of potential candidates getting the job.
I dunno. The thought of them getting a high proportion of my salary is really bugging me.
The thing is, if I am the hiring manager, I have to think 3 times when hiring from external recruiters because doing that will make cost of hiring even more expensive if say they find out that the candidate is a bust.

What do you think?
