Advice Needed: Inv Malaysia Property as Foreigner

Hi guys

Im a foreigner living here in MY and I have a foreigner friend (from UK) with a capital of 1M MYR and he's considering investing in Malaysia's property market. his main objective is to generate a rental income or possibly use it for ABNB. However, he's unsure if this is a good idea or not ?

If it is a good idea, what kind of property should he invest in? Should he focus on residential or commercial properties? And where would be the best location to buy in terms of zoning and area?

we are aware that foreigners have a minimum threshold of 1M MYR for property investment. Ideally, he would like to purchase two properties with this amount, but I understand that may not be possible.

Your contribution can make a big difference guys

Thank you guys in advance for your advice and insights.

Can a foreigner buy 2 units total value 600k ?

Hi guys.

We all know that in Malaysia a foreigner can buy a property with a value of not less than 600k, but my question is the following: if I want to buy 2 with a value of 800k both, can I? or does it have to be exclusively 600k for a single unit ?

Thank you so much

German Study Finds Lockdown "Had No Effect" In Sto

Here you can find the last study from Germany

“Statisticians at Munich University found “no direct connection” between the German lockdown and falling infection rates in the country,” reports the Telegraph.

The study found that, on all three occasions before Germany imposed its lockdowns in November, December and April, infection rates had already begun to fall.

The R rate – the number that indicates how many other people an infected person passes the virus to – was already under 1 before the lockdown restrictions came into force.

As we highlighted last year, a leaked study from inside the German Ministry of the Interior revealed that the impact of the country’s lockdown could end up killing more people than the coronavirus due to victims of other serious illnesses not receiving treatment.

This is by no means the only study to have concluded that lockdowns are completely useless and don’t work.

A peer reviewed study published in January by Stanford researchers found that mandatory lockdowns do not provide more benefits to stopping the spread of COVID-19 than voluntary measures such as social distancing.

Back in March, Stanford medical professor Dr. Jay Bhattacharya told Newsweek that COVID-19 lockdowns are “the single worst public health mistake in the last 100 years.”

Earlier this year, academics from Duke, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins concluded that there could be around a million excess deaths over the next two decades as a result of lockdowns.

Other research has concluded lockdowns will conservatively “destroy at least seven times more years of human life” than they save.

Sources:

https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/german-s...ng-spread-covid

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/06/03...infections/amp/

Interested in buying a property But ...

I am a single European men, currently living in Malaysia under director and shareholder work permit, interested in spending a 7-8 months each year in Malaysia (I love your country) after finishing my work permit

I've been looking to buy a property, a serviced apartment in KL especially in Bukit Jalil (despite traffic jam I like this Area) and I found good one with +700k RM as minimum purchase has been decreased by gov (I Don’t need bank loan) However, I have some questions that I couldn't find any answers, and I would appreciate your answers/clarifications

I am NOT planning to work in Malaysia, (I have some investments and fixed deposits) but a vacation home that I could stay in

So the question

- if I buy a property what kind of visa/Residence I will be granted to be able to spend more than 3 months ?? (NOT looking for MM2H or PR)

*Example in Spain if you buy a property you will get a 1 year visa (without work permit) and you can renew each year while you still have this property

so its really not clear

Thanks guys
HSBC Amanah ESG HSCSUS Index

Hello Guys

This week I saw my manager at HSBC Amanah and he propose me to invest in mid-term 3 years on their new product ESG on the HSCSUSI index (Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index), what reassures me is the 100% capital guarantee (in the worst case scenario I can recover the capital invested) if held maturity, and as we know all HSBC is a solid bank

The % will be 4% the first 2 years and depend on last year and according to the performance the final % can reach 5.5%

So I would like to know what you think of this product ? Id like to hear your opinion about ?

if anyone has more information
