Volleyball Court in KL

Hello all!

I’ve been longing to play volleyball (for fun) but I do not have many friends to play with. I’ve been inviting old & new friends but only a few of them are interested.

Does anyone here know any indoor/outdoor volleyball court open for public? I don’t mind paid or free.

Or perhaps a volleyball group that’s open to anyone to join? I need a volleyball therapy 😹

Thank you so much in advance.

Advice for Used Cars

Hello everyone, I'm looking to buy a used car Peugeot 308 1.6 THP (T9) 2016 and above.
I've been looking for the past 2 months now and actively searching for the perfectly used condition.

My criteria as below:
Features
1. Apple CarPlay
2. 350ltr boot space
3. Able to fold down rear seats
4. Sexy exterior and evergreen
5. Moonroof/Sunroof
6. Keyless Start/Stop

Conditions
1. Minor scratches
2. No accidents
3. Good service record
4. Mileage not exceeding 100km+
5. Buy and Drive condition

I have never dealt with Used Car Dealers before. I know trusted sites like Carsome and MyTukar are transparent with pricing that includes OTR price, processing, JPJ, PUSPAKOM and whatnot.
But for Car dealers by the roadside, they advertise promising prices but when I visit the dealer and asked, that is only the 'body price'.
I'm afraid I could get cheated somehow but I would like to minimize that.

I went to a dealer in Puchong to inspect the 308 as advertised but when I asked to test drive, the salesman said that I need to at least book the car first. The car booking is RM500.
I was surprised, I only wanted to test drive the car first before I proceed with any payment. That is already a red flag for me, but I am still hopeful that there won't be any more ridiculous asks anymore.
Didn't ask anymore questions, I just told him that I will ask my wife if she is okay with the car first and we need to test drive before making any decisions.
I could only inspect the car by looking at it only. Exterior looks good and well taken care of for a 6 year old car.

So I went home and WhatsApp him the next day that I will come again if I am able to test drive. He said can. Lol.

Before I proceed any further,

I am seeking for advice or anyone who had experience buying used cars from these dealers? How is actually the process? What are the hidden charges and fees that you actually need to pay for? Is it any different from other car dealers?

Anyone is currently owning a Pug 308? How is your experience?

Thank you in advance!

MyHome 2020

Hello LYN!

Last year in October my wife and I have bought our first home, a high-rise property in KL.
We seized the opportunity of 'First Home' package offered by the government, which is the MyHome campaign.

Our property agent had helped us to apply for MyHome, which offers RM30K for first home buyers.

Unfortunately in January, our agent contacted us that our application cannot be fulfilled because the government had insufficient funds. Therefore, our application is stopped. Just like that.

One of the main reason why we bought the house is because we were promised that we will get the RM30k, and we have also committed to a bank loan to purchase this house. RM30k is not a small amount.

Anyways, last week I had sent an email to Jabatan Perumahan Negara for inquiry/rayuan to get our application to be processed again and asked if there are any other opportunities for us to still get the MyHome. But as of now, we have yet to receive a reply.

I am wondering if anyone else is going through the same situation as we are? And any advice on what else can we do to proceed further?

Thank you.

Myvi on a Mazda2 Rims

Hello LYN

I have always admired a bit larger rims than stock rims.
I love the design of the new Myvi rims. But as a normal human being, you’d always want bigger (or better).
In this case, the closest contender to be almost identical to the Myvi rims is the Mazda2 rims.

Mazda2 Rims

Myvi Rims

And this is how it looks on an Axia

So im thinking about either to trade in my stock Rims + tyres OR sell the tyres & rims myself online?

I just think that an inch bigger rims look much sleek on the Myvi. It looks “fit” on the Myvi body

What do you guys think?
Hello everyone,
Im asking on behalf of my friend

2012 Myvi 1.3 EZi
She needs her engine mount to be replaced. She’s asking how much approximately it will cost if she goes to a workshop (not service centre).

Has anyone changes their engine mount before?
Is it somewhere around ~RM300-400?

Want to ask because dont want to be cheated by the workshop

Thanks LYN.

Hello all,
Recently just bought a new Myvi 1.5
Havent reached 1000 km mileage yet but i noticed the stock tyres Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 185/55/15 gives noticeably noisy effect.

I’ve been thinking about trading in the tyres with Yokohama BluEarth ES32 195/50/15
A bit lower profile cuz i like the tyres bit thinner. Quoted price per piece is rm155. Not sure how much they’re gonna buy my current tyres for.

Do you guys think this is a good idea or should i stick with the current ones?

The Waiting Game Myvi or Proton X50

Hello Everyone.

I'm planning to buy my first car, particularly the new Myvi 1.5 Adv. I've just recently applied for a loan and waiting for it to be approved. Speaking of loan, do you know which bank is the 'best'? What about Maybank? Do they give reasonable interest rates?

I also raised a concern whether I'm able to get the car soonest and don't have to wait for few months to get it due to a great amount of bookings made just like when it first launched in October 2017. Myvi Gen 3 is almost 3 years old now (time flies so fast) there's probably going to be a facelifted version or some sort anytime soon.

Just now I saw a post on the internet saying that the Proton X50/Geely Binyue has already arrived in Port Klang. But no pictures taken. Prices for the small SUV were expected to be around 70k-80k? I would definitely consider that one over the Myvi costing 55k.

Should I wait for the announcement of the Proton? Or just go ahead with the Myvi? What do you think?

First time going to change Rims & Tyres!

I've been browsing through the internet to gather knowledge on tyres since it's going to be my first time changing it and deciding to upgrade rims to 16" from 15".
I've been contemplating whether to go for the 195/50/16 or 205/50/16 tyres for my VW Polo Hatchback 1.6

It's difficult for me to find reviews for people who upgrade 15" to 16" on a VW, let alone finding choices of rims for my car with PCD 5x100.
I tried looking for choices of rims on Mudah, Carousel and workshops that have websites, but not much choices as compared to other cars.

However, I found one new Taiwan VW 16" rims that I like from KingOfRims and together with 195/50/16 tyres will cost me RM2700.
The rims alone will cost me RM1600 and the tyres cost RM260 each. The rest is alignment, valve, etc. For experienced petrolheads, do you guys think it's reasonable? I don't know much about the prices so I just want to make sure that the cost is normal and reasonable enough to pay for.

I'm willing to spend that much on tyres because of its looks and I do hope it does not sacrifice too much comfort too as it would if I go for 17".
Before this I was thinking of going for 17", but after receiving feedback, it's more cons than pros. So I thought of going towards the 16" which I think it will have more pros than cons.

So before I make my decision, would love to hear your thoughts who has more knowledge and experience on these. Thanks so much in advance!
CSGO Stutter/Lag/FPS Issue

Hello all, recently I've been having stutter/lag issue with CSGO while playing online deathmatch/competitive. Before this it was really smooth.
When I play with only bots, no issue at all.

I'm not really sure what is the root cause but I suspect that it could be the internet connection?
I have 2 little sisters playing Roblox (online game) on each different devices (laptops) connecting to the same Wifi and same case, they too have stuttering issues where they will have stuttering screen for a few seconds and then back to normal again for at least a minute. Moments later the stutter comes back.

I'm using a Wifi adapter with 5ghz 650mbps and I strongly believe that the internet connection here at home is stable.
Here is the result of my speed test from http://speedtest.tm.com.my/

PING = 5ms
JITTER = 1ms
DOWNLOAD = 159.5Mbps
UPLOAD = 109.8Mbps

I've updated all drivers, graphics, sound, etc. Set all game graphic settings to the lowest possible but still does not resolve the issue.

Appreciate if anyone of you have the answer to this. Thanks!!

Hi guys!

I'm planning to get an iPhone XS initially, but since iPhone 11 is coming out in this coming September, should I wait for it instead?
Planning to get a with a telco plan – like the Maxis Zerolution 360 thingy.

I'm currently using an iPhone 6s since 2017. I realised that it will still able to support iOS13, but I want a slightly bigger screen and a modern look.

currently loving the look of iPhone XS gold, but worried that if I get it now, I'd miss all the fun with what the iPhone 11 has to offer.

So what do you guys think?

Team Management

Hi, I am an IT fresh graduate working in an O&G company.

My team and I will be involved in an internal full-day training after Raya. Which means we might have to put our operations on hold for the whole day. However, our boss needs the operation to keep on running so at least one person has to stay at the office.

How do I manage this? What are you suggestions?

I'm thinking of leaving one person to take care of the operations while me and the others go for the training.
After the training then we transfer the knowledge we have learnt from the training to him.

Or do you have better way to handle this? Please let me know!

Salam & Hi everyone,

I have an 8 months old Maine Coon mixed Persian I'm a total noob at cats. The cat that I have is also dumb and never understand a thing.

I love opening doors to keep the fresh air inside the house. but my cat loves going out and I'm afraid of the cat running away. so I scolded the cat by hitting (very softly) the butt twice and put it back inside the house.

Suddenly the cat looked upset after I scolded her and she was rolling her body side by side and purrs. the cat never done that before and never purrs or makes unnecessary noises inside the house.

im worried if she has trauma or something. but weirdest thing is that she has totally changed to a different cat. she's very mania, clingy and making purr noises frequently and always rub her head to my legs. before this she ALWAYS IGNORES ME AND NEVER MANJA MANJA. but now she's turned 180º.

what happened??????????

Things To Consider When Buying New Car?

Hi I am fresh graduate looking to buy my first new car to use for daily driving.

I'm just wondering what are the real things to consider when buying a new car.

For the car, does the fuel consumption really matter? I'm very light on the gas and brake pedal. I love driving cars with grace, smooth and fluid motion for passenger's comfort and for my own satisfaction.
Or the maintenance cost is the one we should be more thoughtful of?

For myself, I don't have any major commitments since I'm living with my parents (up until I get married I guess) and just to pay off student loan debt which costs about RM120/month.
And if I have a family of my own one day I'd limit to having children to a maximum of 3. so space should be okay okay I guess. but boot space? probably not so much

My salary is around 4.3k and I'm leaning towards of getting the 1.5 AV Myvi and its the only car I think is best in terms of looks, safety, price and reliability. If there are other options I'd be happy to consider.

And what about discounted prices for new cars? Especially when Hari Raya is coming up, should I wait for Raya promotion to come? Will I be getting the car before Raya?

I'm thinking of going to work by car to MRT first which is 11km away from home and will probably take about 20 minutes to get to MRT. So to and fro will be around 22km.

this is all just a fantasy and my own thoughts. perhaps you guys have a more realistic view of this I would appreciate it very much for you comment!!
